  1. I think they have their own discussion forum. Try googling it and see how you go. Or contact their Club.
  2. I always have my puppies meet an older dog who I know and trust which will put the pups in their place. This may help in your situation, but I can't stress enough that it be a dog where you know their temperament. My previous neighbour has a Dally who was great with my pups but any nonsense and she would put them back in their box. They've (Staffords) both grown up fairly respectful to older dogs and mindful of my older Shih Tzu. However my old girl gives as good as she gets!
  3. I purchased her of Arruga, her dogs were beautiful and i just couldn't pass Jima as she is my baby... Tracey is lovely!! If you don't mind me asking, how do you know Tracey, did you purchase a puppy of her? No, Chickens!
  4. I thought the pup was 8 wks, which is the norm to let them go.
  5. How weird. Sounds like a revenge act more than anything. Surely no one could be stupid enough to set up their business with stolen goods?
  6. Wow, what a great thread and an amazing dog!

  8. I found it odd that they (the show) were so blase about a snail bat box being thrown in the owners yard
  9. The link didn't work for me But Congrats anyway!
  10. Summer is generally ever 6 weeks. I clip mine down weekly. It depends how much you can look after their coats. If you want them short through summer best invest in some clippers. Get a decent pair and they will pay for themselves instead of 2-3 salon clips. Summer over six weeks. Well it may be where you live but what about Queensland and the other states. Summer can be over six months. Every 6 weeks. I missed the 'y' off the end.
  11. This is exactly what the resp. suggest when using top spots. I do this with large dogs too, but smaller dogs I just place it in the one spot.

  13. Exactly! My dog did exactly the same thing after a bone and she almost died. No more hard bones in this house! Please don't delay, if there is a blockage the dog will go in to shock and die.
  14. I've seen that movie too.... Fingers crossed he's safely found BArtok!
  15. Well I got mine and the dogs love it. Well, Esme just *likes* it but she's eating it which is a big thing. The other two inhale it. Will be interesting to see how Gerties skin copes with it. Just about to introduce it to the cats too. Nice to meet you the other day Kel! Dru.
  16. I read a veterinary paper saying dogs which have the ticks poisoned while attached take longer to recover, whereas ticks which are simply pulled off recover more quickly. I've always removed them myself as I like to know that it's really gone. I hate the nasty critters, killed two of my dogs and knocked one of my cats around with his long term health.
  17. Are you at Austinmer Vets Kate? I go there each yr for holidays but last year had a sick dog I had to take to Austi Vet, they were FANTASTIC!
  18. And how does the regular puppy buyer know to do this?? None of my friends even know of 'registered' or 'papers' 'limited' or 'main register'. It's not common knowledge so for a Joe Blow puppy buyer to go the extra length to sus out the background of the breeder is not the norm either.
  19. Symptoms sound similar to a previous dog of mine, turns out she had Laryngeal Paralysis. Definitely worth having it looked at further.
  20. Poodles and Cockers make me itch like crazy. I love both these breeds but could not ever live with one. Two of my cats also make my eyes red and itchy but not the other.
  21. Send him here for a month! I will groom the fur out of him and you can see if your allergies improve. Can't promise he'd go back to you tho'! I Pugs.
  22. It's not ideal but if it comes to rehoming him as your last option I would shave him off. I do it for plenty of Goldies, Labs etc and yes even two Pugs. I know it's a crime but the dogs get to stay with their families and both sides are happy. The shedding will be minimal, if any, I have also shaved off my own double coated dog before (ticks and other health reasons) and the difference was astounding. Just give it some thought, as I said I know it's a sacrilege but if it means you can keep your gorgeous boy....
  23. I've been loosely thinking about a LGD lately too. We're in a bad fox area and I worry about the livestock. After a big think I realised that I couldn't have the dog outside at night anyway, most likely on the bed with me, so it defeats the purpose of the breed for me. I'll just bide my time for another Saint :D
  24. A past DOL'er has an ACD who would hump their other dog in the car. People would drive past them giving them strange looks while the dog was going at it in the back seat
