Grooming Tables For Tall People
Clyde replied to jemappelle's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have a Liberty one here for you Jemaps. I'll measure it and let you know. Also have a Simpson stand dryer for sale, as new. Much better than that piece of poo Beacon we both had. -

What Can You Expect To Pay For A Saint Bernard
Clyde replied to frenchiegirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yeh, I always like to know prices up front. Then I budget in toys, vaxes, desexing etc and see if it suits me over the next 12 months. Dogs are priceless, however not everyone can pay $4000 for a pup so shouldn't be made to feel small when enquiring about prices for certain breeds. I would have loved to have gotten a British Bulldog pup before I got my 2nd Stafford. However I just couldn't justify the price tag when my previous Bulldog cost me over 3 grand in 6 months on vet bills, I couldn't risk that. So instead I paid $800 for a top Stafford pup and I know I can comfortably meet any medical needs on the small chance that they might crop up. For some reason the more expensive breeds tend to have more health problems. -
Woodcroft and Meadowmist are down the road from me.......... What sort of dogs do you have? I have heard only positive things about one of our forum members kennels, Pax. If you do a forum search you will probably find reviews and a contact. She is out near Windsor from memory, Londonderry?

What Can You Expect To Pay For A Saint Bernard

Oh, i know. ETA: there is a young mature pet available also for 1200. Oh yeh, the 'rare' smooth coat -
I agree It feels very desperate and like the owners aren't so bright? I think Sas' Dante has a good chance of being short listed. Good luck to everyone entered. I love Peter's PJ's, they last forever and are very comfy!

OMG I love that kitten!! Adorable

PM Sas, or check in the Dane thread. Good luck with him, poor dog

Where do you live? Perhaps someone can recommend a vet close to you who may be more experienced with this. I have put two dogs through cruciate repairs. My most recent had both done at the same time - for her double leg surgery with the patellas also being done it didn't even come to half of what you've been quoted and it was done by an orthopedic surgeon! Shop around, you need to know what it going on and you need to find someone who is going to help you understand it all. If you are in Sydney, I highly recommend Max Zuber 98175758 http://www.gladesvillevet.com.au/

What Would You Do If Your Dog Was Sick
Clyde replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
Having nursed at a Sydney clinic in a high income area, and also had my own dog on a ventilator at Sydney Uni from a tick, I find this very difficult to believe. -
Same Sex Aggression And Breed Predisposition
Clyde replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not so in entire bitches. If anything it is believed that female hormones present in entires can help to keep bitches less aggressive. I think it depends on the individual dogs and owners, but that aside, I would also be hesitant to run same sex Staffords together. I have been told that Saint Bernards are supposedly good with each other due to being kennelled together during their origination. -
Advice On Different Package To Desex Puppy
Clyde replied to nicolatu's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My local vet charges $250 for what you've said above. -
This has been cancelled but there are still about 100 people there if your aim is to get the dog out for a run and play.

No. The place I'm talking about is near me, no web site and not on a large scale at all. YOur place does sound like a puppy farm.

I'm the same Cosmolo. I groom quite a few dogs from the same place. They were all raised indoors, owners were given detailed information about ongoing grooming commitments and costs, dogs are all delightful. The 'breeder' is still always on hand to these clients for questions. It starts to get tricky once the DD breeders lift their game.

Sounds like my Staffords! If I ever had a Wolfie I would spend all my time conditioning that coat :D *don't hurt me*

I groom a large breed dog with terrible anxiety and phobias. The poor thing is in his 8th home and I don't know how they do it :D Their house has been destroyed. Last time he was here I said I couldn't groom him anymore, he was just too distressed which stressed the other dogs here and he often caused damage. They've tried so many groomers and can't manage him themselves, I lasted the longest as I could see he was a sweet dog under all the layers of problems. Lovely owners, I think it's amazing they've managed this far. It's easy to judge on the outside and think you can fix these problems, but when push comes to shove it completely paralyzes these peoples' lives and we shouldn't pass judgement on them wanting their lives back.

Can these breed be trained to be reliable with cats?

We were going to but I doubt it's on. It's already a mud slide there and tomorrow we're supposed to get a deluge all day.

**urgent** Old Dog Needs A Home Asap
Clyde replied to kirst_goldens's topic in General Dog Discussion
Would it be so bad if he was kindly euth'd? A dog aggressive, toy breed who wees and poos inside and in need of a dental when there are so many other dogs in need. I don't feel it's professional or fair to try to talk clients out of euthanising their pet. I hope this poor old dog isn't going to languish in some pound now.
