Nail Clippers, How Do Dthese Work?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I've only ever used the scissor type clippers but OH has just pulled two pairs out of the cupboard like thishow_5.JPG

You squeeze them and the blade comes up and would I presume cut the nail. However I'm not sure how to use them :o

Which way do i put them on the nail and how do I know how much to take off? I've never seen clippers like this and I'm worried I will stuff it up! I don't really want to leave them another two weeks until we go to the vets.

the amount you take off is the same amount you would with the scissor style clippers - so just itty bitty bits each time if you aren't confident

these ones I would use with the blade coming up on the underside of the nail

just have some cornflour or a bar of soap handy incase you nick one

I found the scissor type crushes/pinches the nails and my dogs hated them AS WELL AS the guillotine style. I bought a pair of Smart Trimmers which are slightly better and I don't have to fight my dogs quite so much.

My preference is to get someone else to do it LOL
