I though I would pop in to say hi to everybody here :) I will be getting an Anatolian Shepherd Dog puppy as my next dog and I'm in the very much excitement stage :D At this stage I may be getting one early next year, but we will see what happens with timing as I am waiting for a girl with a really nice affable pet temperament :)

Each day I lay out more plans... places I can take my puppy too while we're socializing, I keep driving by places and going 'Oh cool I have to visit there'! I have this list of dog friends and family to schedule playdates with, at work I see toys or a collar and think that would be perfect. I am planning to take at least a week off work and just take my new girl out every day, everywhere I go :D

Ooooh! Ive only ever seen pictures of them. They look like hansom dogs. Will she be a pet or do you have a flock for guarding?

My flock consists of my husband and me, my older boy Zeke, and my other assorted pets - no livestock to guard but plenty of birds! My girl will be my pet and companion primarily. In the flesh they are utterly magnificent dogs, and those that I've met have the most stunning temperaments :)

So hyped up I've actually got a list I'm keeping of all the places to take her :D

Tara would love to see photos too!

Ah - another birdo :)Ive an ekky (1 - I don't think I could cope with more)

I never thought about a list of places, I was just going to go everywhere. If things go to plan the puppy I am getting is a singleton so I should start a list of safe places until vaccinated...then everywhere .

Do you have a name yet? Am thinking 'Dyson' should suit a large male lab.

I have a list too! I want to take the puppy out to safe places to socialise until he is fully vaccinated so I've decided on the local coffee shop and have coffee / puppy dates planned accordingly as well as walks around the lake or at least in the general lake area, I don't think a puppy will want to walk a whole 6 kilometers! But coffee and the main strip in town will mean people can stop and pat him and he'll get a lot of different types of people as well as see other dogs walk past.

I can't wait!

And then when he gets old enough I'll be taking him to puppy pre-school as well as ongoing training with the Dog Obedience Club here (BDOC), which means I will get to meet a bunch of people whilst playing with my puppy! *bounces in joy*

My little girl arrived on Saturday night from the NT after a 4 month wait! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

She is 8 weeks and 2 days old. I so wanted to post in here as I waited, but didn't want to jinx myself. For those that haven't seen her yet, here are a few pics.

Takoda "NothernSun Aurora Blue".
