munted pups?

well yes, as registered breeders whose aim is to produce healthier pups than before, we often screw up and have munted ones.

What with DNA tests, vet checks, Xrays pennhipp scoring and eye checks, not to mention baer tests, and blood tests, and only breeding from the correct dogs, well you can see every litter there will 1 or 2 with an extra eye or leg or maybe half a body missing.. Occasionaly well even have a half dog half kitten, due to all these 'breed from the best' ethics.

You hear it all the time.

Oh sorry, im being sarcastic again

Be my guest

We have been looking to rehome a 10 month old girl. We clearly state in the advert that she WILL be desexed prior to placement, with no exceptions...Of all the calls on her, there has been ONLY two that have no issues with desexing (unfortunately they don't have the ideal home situation for this girl) as the rest of them want to breed from her. They don't seem to understand that if she was correct enough to breed from, we would be doing that! :mad

Hi,

I am looking for a red female pup and am wondering whether you can supply me one?

My family and I live on an acre in Melbourne and I don't work, so have plenty of time and love for a Staffy.

Hope you can help us find that special pup.

Regards,

Amanda

First I dont "supply" i give someone a rare chance at being able to offer one of my "babies" a forever loving home

I was present at a conversation at a show on Saturday where a woman spoke to a friend of mine and explained that her daughter's show dog had just died but she couldn't afford to buy her another. Another breeder had apparently given them a puppy but the woman said - and I quote - "It isn't good enough to show but that's okay we'll just breed with it"...god help us.....

Give them a break, I really feel sorry for the general puppy-buying public sometimes with all these "unwritten rules" about purchasing a pedigree dog. The email was polite and concise...

I guess some of the things we talk about and are so used to can just not be understood at all by the person out there who sees a breed of dog they would love to have as their own and know little else - how could they know what has taken most of us years of research, hands on breeding and showing, talking endlessly with other breeders etc etc the list goes on and on - we can become specialists in our chosen field so to speak - granted some buyers are just really awful pains in the neck but perhaps some through ignorance and not quite choosing their words so well can seem unsuitable - when perhaps they just need to be guided and can turn out to be wonderful loving owners of our beautiful babies.

Getting back to the OP. Perhaps they have a genuine reason for wanting another male. I know many people that only have either all males or all females. For them it seems to work. Perhaps they don't want a bitch because they have no intention of breeding or having hassles of a bitch in season.

Really people, some are posting about people just wanting to breed anything with anything and flaming them and yet here is what seems to be some people that obviously do not want to be in the same category and they are still getting flamed.

It seems that these people would be damned by wanting the male and yet in all likelihood, judging by some of these posts, would also be damned if they decided to take the female instead.

Personally I would be encouraging these people as they obviously are not after the bitch to mate and make money from. Isn't that what BYBs do? So rather than support them lets flame them because they don't want to go down the path that registered breeders don't want them to go down.
