Me: No, only twice a year. 6 months in the Autumn and 6 months in the Spring

Them: What's his name? Spot? *laughs hysterically*

Them: Do you have another 100 at home? *rolls about laughing at their own originally and wit*

My less that 10 second Info grab, had a funny ending the other day.

When I want both my Tibbies to come.....I call: 'Tibetans!'.

I did that the other day when we had a visitor.

Visitor: 'What are they?'

Me: 'They're spaniels from Tibet.'

Visitor (seriously): 'Aren't they clever. They know where they come from!'

Meant to say too that this reminded me of a story I heard....lady goes to visit her new friend and is introduced to the Bernese Mountain Dog of the house...some time later the friend asks the lady "why do you keep calling my dog Bernice?" Lady replies "Oh - I thought you said she was called Bernice the mountain dog!"

Lowchen:

No it's not a poodle, it's a Lowchen. (alterntively No it's not a Chinese Crested, it's a Lowchen.)

Not a Lhasa but a Lowchen - A Little Lion Dog (show bare bum).

Yes it's clipped.

They belong to the Bichon family, with the Maltese, Bichon Frise and Havanese. But they come in all sorts of colours.

Afghan:

It's an Afghan Hound.

Yes HE'S handsome. It's a boy. (never quite worked out if they think the boy ones look like Dobermann)

Yes they look glamorous but they are bred to chase, kinda like a greyhound in drag.

They're like your all-terrain running dog. They are spectacular when running.

No they aren't expensive to buy, but expensive to keep in coat like this. He gets better products than I do.

They're from AFGHANistan.

oh yes we get exactly the same thing with a Dane. The same old comments over and over again and people rolling around with laughter at what they believe to be their amazing sense of humour.

I find it very hard to be gracious at times.

They're Basenjis.

B-A-S-E-N-J-I

Barkless dogs from central Africa. Not mute tho - make yodeling noises when happy, howl when sad.

Hunting small game. They're fast.

No, the black and white one isn't a terrier.

No, the tail is never completely straight, even has a kink in it when they're asleep.

Some shed a lot, others hardly at all.

Yes, yodels.

My Daughter was asked how her Son Denim was doing - His name is Levi....

Oh I knew it had something to do with jeans :curtsey:

I'm getting sore ribs from laughing at some of the posts. No bears around, if you own an Akita....& Bernice the Mountain Dog.

Recently, someone told me their neighbour owns a very unusual dog breed.

Me: 'Oh, what's the name of the breed?'

Someone: 'Something like a biscuit.'

Me: 'Biscuit???????'

Much later.

Someone: 'It was like a wheatmeal biscuit', that dog.'

Me (thinks deeply): " Wheaten Terrier'?

Someone: 'Yes! That's it!'

I have a black mini Schnauzer and the conversation often goes like this:

Person Is that a Scottie

Me No he is a Schnauzer

Person I have never seen a black one

Me They come in 3 colours and 3 sizes

Person Are you sure?

Me Yes

Person He looks like a Scottie

Me No-he is German

I have a black & Silver mini Schnauzer and I have this same conversation at least once a week! :) Always makes me laugh when they ask me if I'm sure I know what breed my dog is, or if I hear them telling their friend/partner quietly as they walk away "he really is a scottie you know..."

My sister's irish terrier is apparently a red schnauzer.

Love it!

You'll be pleased to know, Mita, that one Australian breeder's prefix is Tchoklat wheatens!

This Covers the Great Danes.

Followed by

Them: Must do big shits

Me: Yep

Them: My mate has a bigger one

Me: Of course he does (rolly eye man)

And he then goes on to say the exact same thing to those of us with rottweilers!

Every bloke on the street has a mate with a bigger rottweiler than any of ours, his mate's rottweiler weighed 70kg, don't you know!! Man I miss the rolly eyed man right now!

This thread is great :)

Not many people ask about Fleming but when they do I get "is he a kelpie x" or 'is he a border collie x"

Nope - he's a Belgian Shepherd

dead silence.....

He doesn't look like an Alsation. Are you sure he's not a kelpie / border collie cross?

He does get lots of comments about his speed and agility on three legs though :)
