Alecia

I have no idea how to write this to convey how upset I am

Alecia was adopted a week ago by a fantastic home that had previous

malamute experience and had adopted a male malamute from Elwyn and

I. Despite being togethor only a week her mate Storm and her were

like soul spirits reunited. They would lay on their bed with their

heads meeting and share kisses at night. Initially they hated each

other on sight but within days it just seemed like these two dogs

were meant to be togethor.

Annette who adopted Alecia is just a dream home for a malamute. She

adores her dogs and there is nothing they could want for. 2 days ago

we were laughing on the phone talking about how close they were

after only a week togethor.

Last night I got a call from Annette saying Alecia was unwell when

she went down to them in the morning. She went straight to our vet

and he immediately diagnosed that Alecia was suffering from tetanus.

We were all so hopeful as he told us she would recover in 10 days

with some TLC and medication

Sadly for Alecia her past and poor condition (she weight 23 kilos on

arriving at the pound but was gaining weight steadily) caught up

with her and she was unable to fight this disease. I was gutted to

get a phone call early this morning to say that Alecia had passed

away. It was very sudden our vet had checked on her and she

was OK and then went to make a coffee and by the time he came back

she had passed

I've shed so many tears for my baby girl today. Despite being

obviously mistreated she had the temperament of an angel and there

was nothing you could fault her on. It feels cruel that she went

through so much to find an owner who adored her and was so quickly

taken from them

Gosh I hate trying to portray how much a dog has touched me but this

darling girl did have a vey special place in our hearts

RIP baby girl

:thumbsup::) :D
