  1. I would be more concerned if you have horses? My bat tip for the day is wash any poo straight off your car! You should see what it has done to my car's paint! Nasty stuff.
  2. As if you are going to go and look at the cute white, fluffy puppy and then not get it!
  3. I was standing in front of fairly reflective glass last weekend, cleaning my gutters. My super quiet border collie went nuts growling and barking. He was barking at my reflection that looked like it was in the house. The other dogs were there too but he didn't react to their reflection, just mine. Without saying anything I wriggled my fingers. He continued to growl until he noticed me waving. I stopped. He growled a bit more. I waved and he looked from the reflection to my hand and back and stopped barking. He didn't growl again.
  4. If the pup is in such a state that if will not eat or accept a pat or play with a toy then you need to work on that first. I've 3 pups at the moment that were in such a state that they couldn't do anything. I pretty much just have them sitting and watching and listening. After 3 weeks they are improving. 2 of the people are using the carob choc drops. None of the pups were interested in my lovely stinky food. Bit tricky to teach using a positive/luring method when you can't lure at all!
  5. When I took my pup in for her jabs, about a month ago, I asked if they had been seeing parvo cases. They hadn't had any. That was in Seville. My vet also seemed to think that there was a difference in the different brands of vaccine.
  6. Glad to see you are still alive! The dogs have never chomped anything too bad but my horse chewed the bonnet of the husbands V8 Berlina! Same horse also munched on the outdoor setting, the veranda rail and someone else's float!
  7. Sep form for each trial so 1 for C & 1 for D.
  8. I read it as 4 runs too. Are you a member of the Agility Yahoo list? That is usually a good place to get questions like this answered.
  9. I feel your pain. I would find it hard to walk away from a cute border collie pup if I found one in a pet shop.
  10. Yer but but who is actually doing the turns like this and who is doing something else? A tip for people that haven't done this footwork - practice without your dog!
  11. I got my run from a company called Mountainvale Fencing (they have a website). They were the cheapest I could find at the time. Think it was around $450 for a 2 x 4 meter run (no roof). Instead of concrete you could use pavers. Lots of runs on Ebay. If you have someone to help you then the kits are fairly easy to put together. I just did a cat one by myself.
  12. Well done Luke! And Barkly of course. The pretrial class is training on Wednesday nights heaps now rather than Sundays. We also have trial training on Wednesday nights. Not sure if that works better for you.
  13. Just start slowly with the heeling. Try and get just a couple of steps with nice attention and then reward. Slowly build up the number of steps before rewarding. Switch it around too, sometimes reward heaps, then go for 10 steps and reward, then go back to rapid treating.
  14. I do agility and herding! The only problem is I am struggling with time for comps, lol. Everything seems to clash and I teach all Sunday morning. Think I need to concentrate on one thing at a time. Also think I need to move to WA!!! My question for the week is - feet! Who does the T feet stuff and who just turns. And if you just turn how do you turn? lol. I am thinking so hard about my feet that I have a delay each time I am asked to turn. Doesn't look very smart. Seeing as I have been doing the T turns for years and years it is obviously not going to become muscle memory! Watched some You Tube last night but the people I like move so smartly that I can't see what they are actually doing with their feet.
  15. Love all the pups at the door Lab Lady, super cute! Lol at the kitten comment Teebs. My dogs are little angels but the cats are a totally different story! They caused me heaps of stress. They finally appear to be settling down at nearly 2yo. I've had a few OMG moments with foals too.
  16. Amber is 4 months now and is such a good girl, she has been a delight. My other 2 are 4yo and 2yo so I am well into the swing of having puppies. Even the naughty things she does, like digging holes, are amusing me! She has so much fun and the hole is so big now that all you can see is her tail sticking out! Amber didn't cry a all over night and the house training went well. She has been penned whilst in the house so no running around worrying about wees & poos or chewing things. The only thing I am really struggling with is going through dog school again. It is really boring me this time and I normally love it. First day home Now at 4 months
  17. Pollen rises in the morning and then drops down in the evening. Could be another reason. If I go outside at around 6.30am I am buggered for the day as the pollen gets me. If you don't like frothy shampoos Erny have a look at Eco 2000. No frothing. They have a website.
  18. You need red on both sides to produce red. So dad must carry red too. Cute puppies!
  19. I used chicken wire for my fences as I have horses on the other side and dog mesh isn't good for them. The chicken mesh has got really saggy even with a 3 wire support so I would not use that.
  20. It also means you will only have 1 dog next to you for the stays A lot of clubs do the order in height too so you will be first or last a lot. You will be fine!
  21. I've been working hard on not looking at Poppy but now she is coming too far forwards and wrapping around my leg to look at me! Yikes. And yes she does the adoring 'I love you Mummy' look.
  22. I do things like RAT and then bolt, leaves a nosy border going 'shit mum is leaving'. Makes them pay attention in case you disappear lol. I don't think it is you. Think it is the flip side of having an alert breed, they do sticky beak.
  23. Actually I just want fun agility. If I have to do one more box drill I may have to kill myself.
