  1. Gosh a whole year since you starting posting about your beautiful Didi. Happy Gotcha Day, Didi and Terri.S. I hope we will be seeing updates for many years to come. :champagne:
  2. Because they were hanging around looking deprived, I decided to give them all an early dinner. I sat at the dining room table mixing two containers of food into one and Danny was jumping up on my legs pawing at me, so put one of the empty containers down for him to lick. He sniffed and looked up at me. "You are a horrible mother. This is not what I wanted." He started to lick the container only when the others started to push in. When the food was ready I put a dollop into the container. Would he eat it? No. This was the exact same food that he had been leaping up and pawing my leg to get at. I ended up putting it into a larger dish, which strangely he seems to prefer and he ate a bit, maybe two tablespoons. Better than nothing . I will try him with another food, probably kibble later tonight.
  3. You must have your settings at a small number of posts per page, CavNrott. My computer says 6. But that is neither here not there. :) :) Danny is on Carafate, Ranitidine and Cisapride. Three times daily for each. Poor little man. The Carafate and Cisapride are alright, but the Ranidine tastes horrible. I've spoken often with my vet about his nauseousness, and while these meds are supposed to help, I guess they don't take that away. He doesn't often throw up any more, though.
  4. All my dogs are from pounds and only one was a puppy of about 6 months of age. Ten and a half years later, I still call her my puppy She is a Maltese cross Shih Tzu so she still looks like a puppy
  5. Hasn't been one since then Danny is now down to 5kg and I just don't know what to do. I'll have to go back to syringing, because even when I get all excited thinking I've cracked it, he will stop eating the new food after a couple of meals. He'll come racing into the kitchen, look up at me with a glowing face, so I'll give him something, he'll sniff at it, walk around it, and then look up at me as though I am the worst person in the world for not understanding what he wants. Whatever, I put down gets the same reaction. I timed him yesterday when I tried him with a meal of Nature's Gift Groumet. He picked up a piece dropped it on the floor, circled the bowl, sniffed the piece on the floor and picked up another piece and followed the same procedure. He sniffed at the bowl without taking anything out of it for five minutes. Honestly. I turned the stopwatch of my phone on. I also videoed it, but don't know how to put a video up here.
  6. I wouldn't like cleaning up after it. Owner needs to check on the food being fed
  7. Brilliant, VizslaMomma. I am not one for "uplighting quotations" but I do like that.
  8. Lol, that is a bit like, "How long is a piece of string?" Very breed specific too, from all the stories I'Ve read on DOL over the years.
  9. If that's spam why does every one complain about it   Poppy has exquisite colouring, love the ones of her on the beach. Dogs are like little children when playing: I'll chase you and then you'll chase me.
  10. Another one thought Goose was a goose .... until I reached the part where he growled   Poor little Boo. She looks a huge personality in a little body.
  11. What a very sad situation for you Amby. You have been loving, kind and brave. Zeus
  12. Photos all great, CC. Poppy and Charlie look to be very fond of each other.
  13. How upsetting, K. Have you talked to Marcus? He might have some advice or ideas.
  14. I guess there are only so many things to discuss about dogs - most "action" is in Off Topic which I suppose relates to FaceBook and other social media. I've said it before, but I believe DOL is divided into too many sub forums. A lot of good advice and interesting topics are missed. It took me years to discover the "View New Content" button
  15. It works both ways, Yonjuro. You are a pretty terrific owner as well. BTW. Lock up your daughter - she is very lovely
  16. Same here. I don't know how I'd manage if someone else was around, because I am pedantic to the nth degree about doors and gates which are always the biggest issue for me in terms of their safety.
  17. Thanks a bunch, tikira. Now that will be in my head for days. On the other hand: Jingo is gorgeous and so talented
  18. I can't recommend anyone as I'm not in Brisbane, but agree that you need to act early. My only experience is rescuing an elderly tiny little L/H chi several years ago and she had inguinal hernias on both sides - one the size of tennis ball She was too old and hernias to big to do anything about, but she didn't seem to be inconvienced by them. The fear was always that organs would become twisted. Good luck. ETA: Anvet at Kedron Park always gets rave reviews.
  19. Someone giving out love like that will surely get lots back in return.
