Sadly when break ups occur, children and pets are the ones who suffer most - from what one reads. I hope the dogs don't become pawns or a way of one person trying to punish the other. As the dogs have spent virtually their whole lives together I think it would be cruel to separate them.

I know you ask is it fair, but the emboldened bit is your answer. And apart from that, you also both need to consider what is fair for the dogs. I think you have answered that satisfactorily as well.

LOL, I wonder the same. And why is it that the next day, they look like a very old, very moth eaten rug with loose hair sticking out in all directions. At least I have only one dog and the cat who look like that.

Well, I'm not far from there, so will be taking a look when they open. Although I think it is best at this stage to keep an open mind, I think I am leaning towards what Sheridan is saying. Whatever their plans are, unless the Rescue group maintains full control over the selling of the animals, I wouldn't go along with it.

A couple of years ago, a Manchester Terrier used to spend Fridays with the Moochers and me. He was a lovely dog, but nervous. We used to get many admiring comments on our walks.

Oh, I do, I do . I just can't justify purchasing another vacuum cleaner. I already have two These last couple of weeks, the large one is never put away, because it is needed a couple of times a day. The "stick" one is so easy to use, I can do a quick whizz around the whole house in less than 20 minutes, but it just doesn't cope with amount of hair being shed of late. When I've recovered from Myrtie's latest trip to emergency (HGE ), I might treat myself.

It can be an interesting experience looking after other people's dogs. Bit embarrassing when they run back inside when they are supposed to be going home One time when I minded for a few days a couple of dogs I'd rehomed, the dear owners admitted (after they'd been greeted with pure doggy delight) that they'd been worried their dogs wouldn't come to them. :laugh: :laugh: . I didn't share their concerns because I knew the dogs were totally and absolutely adored.

I echo this ... and about quotes, I was pleased to see the woman advocating larger dogs for elderly people. So many people think: weak, can't lift up, etc etc and so advocate small dogs. I can't think of anything much more dangerous than small dogs around the feet of older people. The trouble I see with Stan in a situation like that, Stan's Mummy, is that once he'd found a bed, would he move? Jealousy would be rampant - LOL - unless he selected a different bed every day. I was interested in that they took the colour of the dog into consideration. All the things to think about. Wonderful.

There is a thread in Off Topic on the Roomba. Don't make me go there . I don't need one, only I WANT one LOL. I see you don't have enough posts yet to see Off Topic, two black dogs, but the general consensus seems to be a match made in heaven. Most people who have them seem to use them daily.

OMG, what a laugh you people have given me. I've just come back from walking that dogs, walked into the house and honestly, it needs vaccuming again. Ho hum. I'll have a scone instead.

I wish my salon was like this. I have to leave my dogs there for hours, even though I know they are treated kindly and they are in airconditioning, but ...... I will be asking about cage drying, too. I know they have a large stand up blow dryer, but I've not seen it in action. Dearest Buddy, your tragedy has made many of us ask a lot more questions.

Well, I feel for everyone... Amd for myself :laugh: And of course the confused dogs!! I am about to vacuum the drifts of hair floating around the house, probably the first of a few times ltoday.

I have 5 small dogs and so I am used to hair, but of late it has been horrendous. Today I have gone around with the Enjo Dry Mop and vaccumed and I could vaccum again!! Danny had a workout with the Furminator and slicker brush and I could have stuffed a cushion or two.

Thanks. I have to say that my dogs are all pretty laid back when I leave them and I regularly leave one or more when I go walking. I tend to take out three, come home, drop off Danny and if Jeune is at the gate, I collect her and go off with them again. That said, I am fascinated by her suggestion that you tell them what is going on, where you are going, what you are doing, etc etc. One thing I thought of, is that by doing this, you are more relaxed and they can pick up on this. Whether we register it or not, if we have dogs we know can be stressed when we are not around, when we are preparing to leave the house, we can be sending out stress signals to the dogs. It will be interesting to see whether the new regime keeps them calm and settled.

Andrew, perhaps start a new topic - LOL. I think you were doing fine. I have a rolled up newspaper too -- for the noise. I whack it on the table or the railings of the deck. Actually, holding it up gets the right reaction LOL. Giving a large solid dog a bit of a whack on the btm to distract him isn't all the bad, it is when a dog is being kicked or hit just because the owner is angry is not on. OTT = Over The Top. An excessive reaction to something.

LOL, lots of times, I'd like to kick someone. Particularly if they were kicking a dog. I do understand where you are coming from, but some people only understand one language.

Don't listen to Noisy, except for the T-Touch idea. :laugh: :laugh: I had a phone session with Amanda de Warren when I had Sari, I was so desperate to try to help that poor little dog realise she no longer had to fight or bit. Sari shut her out. I'd love to have a visit with Heather as she sounds exceptionally intuitive. From what you say about Wolf, I can imagine her turning her back; she wasn't going to have anyone look into her soul and reveal her secrets to mummy - LOL.
