  1. Oh that is tough, Vizsla Lover That woman sounds like a menace and she would be worse once someone she was already set against moved in. We’ll all put our DOL minds to creating a wonderful new home for you via positive vibes through cyber space.
  2. As hard as it would be, Viszla, I’m with Scottsmum and animallover99. Already you suspect the BC manager is not playing by the rules and if that is the case, I can’t imagine things would change. And, as you fear, one bark from you dog would become “Your dog barked all day.” Whatever you do, I wish you the best.
  3. Well it certainly doesn’t offend me, but I worry that we are kicking a dead horse . It just makes me cry when dog show videos, etc pop up in my FB. To see German Shepherds winning awards while walking on their back elbows is tantamount to cruelty. Judges and breeders should be totally ashamed of themselves. I actually saw a clip of puppies playing and they were already on their back elbows ..... sorry don’t know proper name. Makes me so angry and sad. Same thing has happened to flat faced breeds to the extent that many of them have enlarged hearts because they can’t breathe properly, they have to have soft palate operations, reconstructions, etc etc. What the #### is wrong with people?
  4. Ears and eyes and noses all linked, so yes, it is from the saliva (as I understand it).
  5. Go the chemist, buy a bottle of Optrex and some cotton wool balls. Every day, soak a couple of cotton wool balls in the Optrex squeeze into her eyes and wipe around. The Optrex is an eye wash and will flush out her eyes and kill any bacteria that is caused from her licking the stained areas. I always have Optrex on hand and clean my dogs’ eyes regularly. Attached is a photo of Tamar when I adopted her from the pound (admittedly nearly 13 years ago), but as soon as I started using the Optrex the staining cleared up and to this day, she has never stained again. Ditto with several of my dogs over the years. Try this, I am sure it will help.
  6. As I walked my dogs through the little park at the end of my street yesterday afternoon, a mother, her two young girls AND their lovely greyhound were there by the swings. Doggy had green collar . So good to see and I am sure it will be happening more and more.
  7. It is a shame because it also makes people think they are savage. Hopefully, this is changing.
  8. Ooooooh, that water. I'll bet Bart loved it. Best of luck for the Green Collar. Actually, no luck involved ...... Just a beautiful doggy.
  9. I’ve applied to adopt. Still waiting a response - can’t understand what’s taking them so long.
  10. Try rubber back mats from Bunnings where the top is of an absorbent matter similar to coir or a fluffy. The mat will soak up the water and the rubber will stop the floor getting wet. Hose it off every couple of days and it drys very quickly. Or just a couple of towels, really, to catch the drops as the dogs walk away from the bowl. This is what I do. You might like to try microfibre towels, change every couple of days, washing machine at the end of the week - clean and dry in minute.
  11. I find that comment really offensive. That “rescue dog” is about to become a much loved family pet.
  12. So you have always had this amazing talent and ability to just “get” something? And you had to leave your beautiful old dog behind, or did he come with you?
  13. I want to cry. Poor darling Chimpies.
  14. That is just so sad, Grizabella. And your photographs are so beautiful. Is Kluet the boy who wanders around with a blanket over him. Such personalities and strong bonds. The will all be so bereft.
  15. Have you signed in on your tablet?
  16. Well frankly, I am very disheartened by this update. Beyond my comprehension that they haven't done straight out and bought a bigger bed. . ( LOL ... just in case.).
  17. Mike Baird’s on again off again banning of the Greyhound industry really raised their profile, I think, and so deservedly. There are a few I’ve seen in my neighbourhood, although I don’t know where they come from because this area is a popular walk for those near and far. I’ve also seen a couple being walked along Pennant Hills Road. Whether more a being adopted or whether people are beginning to venture out more with their Greys because of the good publicity, I don’t know. Would be an interesting bit of research.
  18. Oh my - he is sooooooooo gorgeous. Just looking at him would bring out the smiles and love and laughter.
  19. I think there is a difference between humping bales of straw and pushing a teeny tiny Pom around the block.
