  1. Some of you may remember my thread of about a year ago started in desperation about how to give meds to a dog who was sick and would not eat. This thread led to two things: a huge depletion of my bank account as I bought just about every food on the market trying out the suggestions    and an increase in Bunter’s weight as he was fed just about all of these as Danny constantly turned up his nose and god forbid I try anything new with Jeune and Tamar I am a slow learner, but I eventually hit on a method. I crush the tablets up in smooth peanut butter and spread on the roof of Danny’s mouth. Even this he was sometimes able to spit out, but it worked for quite a while. A couple of months ago, I had a lightbulb moment and substituted Nutrigel for the peanut butter. Magic :happydance: I have been giving him Nutrigel mixed in bone broth on a daily basis to keep his weight up so always had it on hand. It works becuase 1) it tastes good, and 2) it is the consistency of molasses and so can’t be spat out. I know lots of people have difficulties with giving meds and it can be very distressing. If anyone who has a hard time giving their dogs medications, I’d love to know if you try this and it works.
  2. You don't stop missing a huge character and one loved as much as you loved Mac in a paltry 4 months. I had to pick up some meds from the vet this afternoon and opened the door to see the most exquisite l/h chi. With permission of course I cuddled him for ages because although nothing like him in colour, he reminded me of Tirra who died in Sept 2008. I had to absolutely steel myself to hand him back. Hugs to you.
  3. Consider an architect. It is incredible how easy some changes can be to the experts. Sounds exciting.
  4. Any news. You know moving, selling, buying, renovations and all are of endless interest to us  And not just interest: hoping that you can sort out any hitches, difficulties, with living arrangements. Can be very stressful.
  5. Good news. The main thing is that Stevie was happy (apart from all the undercoat being stripped, of course  ). She must feel so much better. Photo ??
  6. Katdogs, there used to be a woman in Burwood called Reigning Cats and Dogs, I think. Her name was Maureen - forgotten last name sorry. Good friend of Denise at PAWS, who would be able to tell you if she was still operating. ETA: Looked up my old contacts. Years old so no idea if current: Maureen Pollard 9744 8432 0416 189 904
  7. Wonderful pix. So educational, and something most owners never see.
  8. :happydance: Indeed! Well done. You’ll be nice and sleepy too. Happy days.
  9. I’ll have two. Where of earth is Shonky these days. Missed out there.
  10. Poor little dog, poor people. So sad for everyone.
  11. Pretty sure the deal is if you guess the colour right you get a free puppy. :D Oh goody. I tip black and tan colouring too. I will PM Starkehre my address.
  12. Oh, how exciting. Best of luck. Hopefully the property is perfect or can very easily be made so.
  13. OMG  I hope that little treasure is on someone’s lap or in a bed at their feet and not in one of those awful cages.
  14. This is very positive. Have you started looking for another property yet? Maybe just start researching councils which don’t have restrictions and look for properties in those areas? You say you have managed a multi-dog household for 20 years, so there is your precedence which confirms your abilities. No reason why it can’t continue :) :)
  15. A Westie won BIS at Crufts and a Whippet was Runner up. Too too gorgeous. I just about went through the screen.
  16. Oh yes. I remember now. So happy that she has wriggled her way into your heart ..... wherein there will always be a Rupert shaped spot.
  17. To die so young  Poor Tui. I wonder what is happening to him?
  18. We understand and send you lots of love and hugs. :flower:
  19. I was intrigued by Pagan’s mum’s name, Lady Cynthia. My mother told me that she chose Cynthia because when she was pregnant with me, she was reading a book whose main character was a Lady Cynthia. I’ve often wondered what the book was, because strangely enough, I didn’t ask mum. I wonder if Lady Cynthia’s owners read the same book :) .
  20. Yes, the missing goes on and on. Is there a thread about his half sister? Can we know more and share the love? Exactly.
  21. Talk about service  My Delete has arrived and I have already done the deck. :) :)
  22. Oh K. What a devastating loss. Deepest sympathies.
  23. Whenever I see him/is name, I think of Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
