  1. Awww I love this Easter pic of Cooper Bunny, just beautiful !
  2. Ive worked in nursing homes and its amazing how many food and human bacteria related incidents happen that are kept very quiet and under the wraps ! Perhaps they were using the puppy as a scapegoat ! I would like to get Miah into visiting nursing homes down the track, if shes suitable, but the organisation I would be doing it though say they have to be an adult dog to get into it.
  3. Thanks TSD :) I have been trying her on a quarter of one each time I have given her some. I have also left it partially frozen. So far, so good ! As she gets bigger I will try her on half ones . Thanks everyone :)
  4. Its the first time Ive done this kind of feeding properly. Miahs lovely breeder gave us a diet sheet with lots of info and guidelines as to how much to feed etc. Of course it will start changing as she gets bigger and older. Its seems to be working fine atm, and the vet was quite impressed with her yesterday when she had her booster shot. Just remember when you take your puppy to the vets and they ask what you are feeding him, they may have their own opinion as well ;-) Miah eats her amounts within seconds, but shes a small breed of dog :)
  5. hi :) theres a recent thread about in the health/nutrition section that may be of some help :) http://www.dolforums...dog-meat-rolls/
  6. Glad to hear Crowley is on the improve.. and thats fantastic Hank is settling in very well !
  7. Awww he is very cute ! Congratulations ! All the best with Hank :) Sad it didn't work out with the other puppy tho, Hope it recovers ok .
  8. We did have something said about that in our paperwork anyway , so I guess it was kind of a contract then :) Probably depends on each breeder.
  9. Ours (Cavalier puppy) didn't come with a contract as such, but there were conditions with the sale eg that she has to be desexed by a certain age..
  10. Just saw your update, good news ! Having a puppy is all very new to me also ;-)
  11. Don't be too hard on yourself. *hugs* In theory (and hindsight) its always easy to know what we should and shouldn't do.. be it with our kids and or our pets. Accidents do happen to the best of us . Of course especially with puppies we do need to take extra care with them. Mine goes around jumping of and off things too (not big things) and im always paranoid, and trying fix/change things up so she can't.. Main thing is that your puppy will be ok.. and im sure she will be ! Years ago when one of our Cavs was quite young he was running around doing zoomies and I thought he had done his patellas or cruitiate as he went really lame and had one of his legs up in the air . Expected the worse case senerio and was worried sick. Turned out he had just strained one of his muscles and just needed strict rest for a couple weeks with some meds. He came good, never had the problem ever again. *touch wood* The worry of this will be bad enough for you, so just be extra wary in future, well as much as you can be. Sending positive thoughts its nothing too serious x
  12. Have fun when it arrives Tassie !
  13. Im glad to see there's been positive feed back in here about those deals direct booster baths some things on there don't always get the best reviews
  14. Deals Direct have these, but im not sure what they are actually like? I think you got to pay more for add on features ? ;-) http://www.dealsdire...athing-station/ Hmmm you would still have to bend over with these too tho
  15. We don't have kids either, and Ive not been invited to many over the years (I think because my friends know I couldn't have babies, and that the shower parties will upset me ) Im tempted to do one for Miah, and have been considering it, just don't have the energy to put one together, and I have noone else that would do one for me.
  16. I think im getting too old to want to experience another puppy, i just dont have the energy to keep up with the one i have I did a second take at first, theres a member on here called Kiwigirl, and my ears priced up thinking shes getting a puppy ! (wish i could tag names like on fb for her to see this lol) Congrats on your soon to be puppy, not long to wait now kiwigal , enjoy !
  17. Oh how exciting ! you've going love having a new puppy around the place
  18. What a horrible thing to happen Sending Ruby positive healing thoughs, and hugs for you too Lisa, it can't be easy on you to be going though all of this x
  19. Thanks everyone for your helpful replies, we always supervise our Cavs when they have bones or treats :)
  20. Hi Rosetta :) Chicken necks are another one that people have said about on here to becareful with. Ive never had any issues with our 2 older cavs *touch wood* despite they inhale them eeek! I have been giving our Puppy Miah (shes 3.9 kilo atm) some, but have tried to give them to her lengthways to encourage her to chew them, ive seen her gulp them down fast still eek! I tried giving her a frozen one tonight to encourage her to chew than to swallow too quickly. Some people have suggested chicken wings as they are a bit bigger and not as easy to choke on.. its a difficult one knowing which bones to give them ! I must admit im still too paranoid to give her some chicken caress , I have emailed her breeder about my concerns as well. I did give quarter of a frame each to our older Cavs recently , and they had no problems with them :)
  21. Thanks Westiemum.. lol about ''very satisfying watching my guys eat carcasses holding it with their paws like a lion, even if 'the kill' is from the meat section of the supermarket! ''
  22. Thanks Everyone, we tried Joey and Renae with some tonight for their tea, didnt take them too long to eat them! Im still a bit anxious about giving Miah some, im scared shes going have problems with the little bones, I'll have to get over my fear !
