  7. Because Didi was scared..and she reacted automatically. Why do Doctors/hairdressers use all sorts of distractions when little kids have to have something done for the first time ? So they don't suddenly back away & scream ....

  12. i would be feeding paraffin oil (olive oil will be digested) ..and some psyllium husks/weetbix :) it may take a couple of days to see what's happening - you will soon know if there is a problem by her attitude - she will definitely appear uncomfortable ..and may not poo properly ... or it may be watery ( as a blockage only lets liquid thru) ..or she may not want to eat ...
  13. Liking this option ,persephone. I am just trying to keep the wee darling as comfortable as he deserves. Hope it helps the poor old man :) If sides are highish - he can't clamber out ..and then knows exactly what's what (in theory ;) )
  14. Really? Have a good look at the photo which is "Warning Cops are trained liars". WARNING Do not do so if you are at work!!!! urrrrrrrrrrrrk.
  15. How exciting :) if you are getting the puppy from an ethical and careful breeder - the pup should come with a recommendation for diet..and sometimes even some food to take home. Unless the puppy is on something inadequate, like weetbix/farex/milk follow what he has been getting . :) Easy! This helps puppy settle in , and goes a long way to stopping tummy upsets from different foods. If the puppy is not doing well on the original food, or you really need to change - then , yes research is good , talking with the breeder is useful , and GRADUALLY easing into any new diet is best for puppy :)
  16. So are some of the others if you look closely. I stopped at the numberplate.

  18. Hopefully she just zigged when she should've zagged, and strained something :)
  19. Indeed!! With a disclaimer that says conditions apply so essentially the lifetime guarantee means little unless the exclusions are also stated. I didn't see that bit Ams - here is hoping they make good though. I missed that as well...
  20. These reptile ticks can get HUGE - I often remove them from the poor old shinglebacks :) good shots!
  21. pet pads and the human kids version I suggest a good bed ( or even a large carton with 3 sides ..so bedding stays put .A drop of vanilla on the entrance and a bit of training will let him know where to get in ... then perhaps put in one of the pads OVER vet bed/foam/whatever. they are amazingly absorbent ..and , in a bed with sides to cradle him, he may feel more secure and not shift bedding ?
  22. That little wren on a post is a terrific shot with heaps of "look at ME " impact :) Love the ducks and pelican going about their business... more photos anytime !
