  1. Jiblet lot ripped his nail off a few years ago - I'm pretty comfortable bandaging up his foot so just did that after ringing the vet to see if they would have done anything different and giving it a bit of a clean with water it's grown back now, but it's slightly off alignment with his other toes, doesn't impede his walking/running, but I enjoy pointing it out and making fun of him hope your little fella feels better
  2. wowzers! lucky dog ... who has a corded phone anymore?
  3. awww I love police dog stories, hope he gets to enjoy his retirement :)
  4. awww what a little goof! and look at those pearly whites!
  5. As others have said there is Pets at Peace, I found them awful and refused to use them
  6. Have you got a photo/video what makes you think she is weak in the back legs? they can be quite gangly and all over the place at that age = fuglies D still walks with quite a womanly wobble - the kids ask why he walks so funny  Swimming would probably be good if there is somewhere 'warm' she can go
  7. I reckon you should go somewhere with a HV dryer - just makes getting the coat out sooo much quicker If D starts to get spiderwebby coat - I don't even bother brushing, just take him into the shop and use the blow dryer on him
  8. aww when D was a pup he didn't even finish his first pigs ear.. and I associated the smell of them with 'puppy' because he was always chomping on it nowadays it takes him from the time it takes me to close the 'dog food cupboard' and walk to the living room! LOL instead I put little bits of treats in his leo to keep him busy for up to 20min
  9. sorry we didn't make it - we stayed south and went for a walk around Lake Tuggeranong - including a quick stop in at the dog park there :)
  10. Agree with Becks - try stripping.. then coat king.. before you do clipping - maybe your breeder can advise you what they use. she will more than likely grow back wooly, thick and curly if you start clipping her. If you do eventually decide to go down the clipping route you're probably going to purchase clippers upwards of $300 (+ blades) - it's a good investment if your going to be grooming the dog for it's whole life
  11. ooh that does seem fun! it's on my birthday too
  12. Off to Syd this weekend and Dieter is due for a bath so I might do that next week - but I do want to come to one of these! .. preferably pre bath!
  13. oh wow she's covering some ground! hopefully she gets caught soon
  14. Poor little thing - I will post this on my bulletin board at work tomorrow
  15. I think you'll be right seeing he's had the snip still working from home? just lock him away if you pop up to the shops for the next few days
  16. aww Rebanne that is just heartbreaking...
  17. 5.5 weeks when we went on holiday last year, usually I've kept it to 2 weeks He stayed with the parentals which is good because they have 3 people working all different hours so he gets a lot of attention and in door time. He's also had one week at his own house with a friend house sitting We've got another 2 week holiday coming up and the parentals have said they won't have him at their place (I'm sure they are stirring) so I just told them one of them would have to move into my place! hehe
  18. poor little poppet, but geez he's cute
  19. dawww - good on you Staffyluv what's that pink toy? The staffies I was looking after over Xmas had a red one, that they knawed the handle off of, and it's one of the few toys D doesn't have.....
  20. bahaha and he tuckers himself out! made the most of the room he had too!
  21. Sorry, my 47kg lump won't be able to make it - we've been invited to a BBQ instead Hope the weather's nice :)
  22. D and I might be able to make it Dieter is loud, dominating, controlling and doesn't let other dogs have any fun, so I'm sure he'll make a charming addition to the day
  23. I use the complicated 'in the basket' but I think it's the way I say it that gets him going - he does such a proud little prance as he goes over to the basket. I did start with 'tidy' but tended to draw it out when saying it - the 'in the basket' is quick and energetic.
