  1. hrm, I've never seen that on a dog either when grooming - could be due to the heat dryer, his coat change or rough and tumbles It will fall out eventually and just like human hair nothing to do to fix it
  2. No trouble here - I know it's better for him in the long run although we have tried to put a bit of weight on him for the winter, with that success we are back to normal
  3. I updated his cushion cover by sewing a new one, so the purchase was fabric, but before that it was his new jacket
  4. I use the same as JulesP (but I really just get whatever one is one special) and D gets 15g spoon, although he should probably get 30g given his weight (47.5kg), but that's a lot of powder in his dinner! He also gets fishoil

    oh no, how shocking
  6. Dr Scholls foot cream -I would use this on my hands straight after my shift when I was grooming 7 days a week along with cotton gloves at night Also changing shampoos helped and using those little rubber scrubbers on dogs instead of your fingers and nails might help
  7. clip better in the long run, if she gets wet and is matted she won't dry properly and could get mouldy and just be generally uncomfortable
  8. It adapts... and if you keep a dog in a heated house they won't get a proper winter coat and will shed all year round... LOL
  9. I'm hoping love and my sheer willpower :smurf:
  10. I chose not to move OS because of my dog and we've recently agreed to not go on another extended overseas holiday because my dog is a bit on the aged side (it also took a lot of pressure of us financially so win win)
  11. *my* pets I loved equally, being my late cat and current dog (my brother's cat I loved, but not as much as my two) fiance's dog I love, but not as much as my dog
  12. hrm, I wonder if Dieter's intermittent drooling is related to a bug bites in the mouth... glad he's ok!
  13. Riverstar - trust me your own hair is no where near as bad as a GSDs hair! LOL although it is my waist length hair that ties up the dyson rotating head We had a few weeks in this house without the dogs and it was super clean despite lots of unpacking, foot traffic and no vacuuming. One day with the dogs here and amongst all the dog hair there were also smudgy foot prints and drips from tongues and noses everywhere LOL For some reason it doesn't bother me as much on carpet.. and as far as my car goes it saves me having to offer lifts because only the driver seat is hair free hehehehe I don't want to think about my next dog too much (if there even is one) but a large size non-shedder would be a key requirement this time round.
  14. I've never 'had' to, I just like doing them... weekly.
  15. ^^ Yup: dog obstacle course to entice people? fast, daring, clever... dangerous? LOL
  16. a Dad joke for the occasion: looks like poo, smells like poo, tastes like poo - lucky you didn't step in it!
  17. oops, hope she doesn't choke on the beans
  18. Maree - as a 'professional' dog walker I wouldn't want to get in the middle of some strange custody dispute for the dogs.
  19. ooh I love those photos, some cute ideas there! Our dogs stuff is spread out over the house - but they do have their toys and favorite hang outs in our respective studies I'm minding some dogs atm who only have access to the laundry (where they usually sleep) via doggy door and gee whiz that gets pongy being closed up all day!!
  20. My GSD has moved house twice (once at 6 yrs and recently at 10), the last time about 2 months ago - and that time he moved in with a maltx. I didn't introduce him to the new house until he was going to stay there permanently - so his kennel, bed and spots were all set up and his toys were all out. Then we were lucky enough to be able to take time off work or work from home for the first 3 weeks (this was mainly because of the two dogs living together, his first move I think I only had one day off) So my suggestion would be to leave all his stuff out til the very end, then have someone set up the new house with his things while he goes for a walk or car ride and then when he goes to the new house that's that. hopefully if his humans are around he'll feel more comfortable.
  21. I second the dryer part! but for a regular owner a rake or double rake will do the trick.
