  1. I had my GSD shaved for surgery and diagnosis a few times, I would be thinking at least 3 months - even now I can still see/feel a difference
  2. Wow what a great job - I bet he'll be driving very carefully in it with all the work he has done :)
  3. ~8am on weekdays, some AM time on weekends if he looks hungry (he won't eat on weekends because we are in the house and he wants to be with us) 7-8:30pm in the evenings, but usually 8pm
  4. Congrats on the house Pheebs! :D We didn't do anything like that with our dogs - probably should have! But we did deliver Xmas cards and do friendly waves whenever we could... and I would talk to one of the neighbours dogs quite fondly (she moved away with their daughter )
  5. I'd like to give my anorexic dog some to give him the munchies to eat more, hah.
  6. I think having a poor camera on the phone is the only thing keeping me safe atm! haha
  7. hah, it's constant around here. and I think I realized I loved my fiance's dog when he got his own voice ;-) <-- yes, they reply to me and they are VERY honest. don't keep photos on the phone though
  8. jesus! I was thinking of getting insurance if we got a pup, but at these prices no way! I've managed to find tens of thousands for my dog so far so can probably do the same for the next (fingers crossed it won't be needed) that's as much as a house to insure...
  9. yes, fingers crossed I would probably use tin food, most dogs seem to find it appetizing for some reason. But don't go crazy in case he can get out in time with his knee and makes a mess inside I do like that trick of a fake front yard walk! I remember walking my boy for a near an hour around my back yard one night when he was quite ill with a bum problem
  10. He hasn't pooped since early on Thursday? What surgery did he have?
  11. This won't be helpful.. when Taz did this earlier in the year it's because the sand at the river was too hot to walk on so he just lay down til we went to pick him up. No burrs in his feet? Maybe see how he is in the morning
  12. Hopefully someone has a link to the study, but I recall reading that it's better to feed higher quality protein than less protein if your animal has kidney failure.
  13. Yup it's probably only ever 'enforced' if the dog is a nuisance and brought to DAS's attention
  14. You could check out their annual reports http://www.tams.act.gov.au/about-us/annual_report
  15. LT - think you'd have to set it
  16. oh wow your right the Aldi one DOES mop... interesting...
  17. what great photos Sam :)
  18. I'd also check the dosage with your vet and let him know your concerns. My dog was weeing a lot on his heart meds and even weed a tiny bit in his sleep so we altered the dosage and he's doing fine.
  19. Where do you live now? If you are in Brisbane I'd just make sure he had dry clean towels in the kennel each day that he can bury into if he does get wet and cold
  20. Resource (me) guarding is very strong in the little one who isn't even my dog! He loves to keep my dog away from me.. even sleeping on the floor on my side of the bed instead of in his own bed, sitting right outside the bathroom door etc He's also very posessive of 'his' areas, his food bowl, his kids couch, his toys.. but he will happily sit on my dogs bed and play with his toys. little turd. I always feed, pet, greet my dog first and wonder if this adds to the problem if the little dog is seen as further up in the hierachy than my dog??
  21. worst reaction has been screaming and cowering from a 'white' electricity meter reader girl
