  1. It looks to me that if owners/supporters of bull breeds can't even convince people on this forum without being abusive and rude, there is no chance in hell they can convince general public. I am just glad I don't have any of those breeds.
  2. It is hardly surprise. Every single thread of this type end in the exactly same way.
  3. Well, at least we know how will this thread go on. First, people will talk about victims and idiot owners. And then, somebody will say something about the breed involved. That will follow with posts that would defend the breed and accuse everybody else for breed bashing. And, that is how the thread will end, just like every other thread that involves bull breed or bull breed cross. Thread closed.
  4. Sadly, no. Everything else seems to be more important here.
  5. I have seen many in Europe. They all had ears cropped and almost all were aggressive. Most were dog aggressive, but some were aggressive towards humans too. The thing is, they replaced pit bulls within the low life members of the community. So the same type of idiot owners now got bigger and more powerful dogs. Shame really, because they could be fantastic dogs in the right hands.

    Police Dog Vadar

These dogs deserve much more credit for their work. Magnificent animals.
  7. I don't know if this was already posted. Owner of the dogs that killed a woman is formally charged with murder in USA. Link
  8. Indeed. And that's not even the worst of it all. The worst is that this is being pushed as a role model that all dog breeders should follow. That is scary.
  9. I don't support puppy farming, but it is perfectly legal business regardless of what we think. And they have every right to advertise is as such. And, it looks like it will be the only way the dogs are bred in the future. Sad, but true.
  10. Shedding was a key part of our choice of dogs. I don't like dog hair in the house, and would never have a dog that sheds. Our first dog was an Airedale terrier, low shedding breed. Now, we have two poodles (a standard and a mini) and they are perfect family dogs for us. And maintenance don't have to be so much work as people would make it believe. Because it's hot here pretty much all of the time I clip them short once in 3-4 weeks. Brushing is a 15 minutes job done twice a week.
  11. What about this? Poodles as sled dogs
  12. I don't know if this was posted before. I just found it on some European forum.
  13. I think she may well be Sarplaninac. She is only 1 year old, so she is not fully formed. Conformation and coat both. Here are some Sarplaninac females.
  14. In Europe it is considered very bad manners to show a bitch in heat. Or, at least, it was some 20 years ago when I was in dog showing.
  15. Silver fox is the very same species as red fox. Not subspecies, but a form. Something like a panther and black panther, same species.
  16. The point is, if you attach link it is polite to explain what it is all about so people can decide if they want to open it or not. :)
  17. So, what is next. Complaints that pulling a carrot from the soil make it suffer? I don't know why is anyone paying attention to what are these idiots saying.
  18. I didn't know you can show mantle Great Danes. I thought that colour is not acceptable. Even if it is, $27000? I really doubt that too.
  19. I don't think pet bond will change anything. It is usually 2 weeks rent, which IMO doesn't make significant difference. We had tenants couple years ago that stopped paying rent about a month before they disappeared. The house was left in a huge mess, with carpets destroyed by their dog. Some walls were damaged too, doors scratched and smell of dog's pee was horrible. Insurance didn't cover any of the damages made by the dog because they were not 'malicious'. They only covered the rent and broken toilet bowl. We had to pay for cleaning (which was not cheap), carpet and painting before the new tenants could get in. The house was of the market for about 6 weeks, and of course we still had to pay the mortgage. The total loss we had was more than $3000. Pet bond would cover less than $500. To rent the house to another tenant(s) with a dog, I think I would much rather have a good reference(s) from previous landlords.
  20. As far as I know, no new pharmaceutical can be licensed for human use without extensive testing on animals.
  21. If I was looking for a large breed, I would go for Russian Black Terrier. They are big and can look very intimidating. They used to be army dogs, I would expect them to be relatively easy to train.
  22. When we were looking for a dog we made a list of traits we didn't want. We didn't want dog that shed, drool and smell. After we figured that out, standard poodle was somehow obvious choice. Bruno fits our family perfectly in every way, so much that we got another poodle, only mini this time.
  23. Another imbecility coming from good old USA. What surprise.
