  1. It is very frustrating LOL. My boy Chazer who I wanted to teach heel has trouble pivoting on the spot and I had to spend a long time to get a fraction of what I wanted. I then put my girl Tilly on there and she just privoted around top speed right from the start LOL. Chazer can walk sideways brilliantly though and dogs aren't supposed to be able to do that easily, so I am sure your dog will have its own talent :)
  2. Looks like it would be fantastic. I did teach my boy heelwork last year for rally-o using a platform, look on youtube for buffalodogtraining. It got me off to a great start, I did cut some corners as I had a time limit, but I also had a few private lessons with a fabulous dancing with dogs instructor who really helped a lot too. hmmm, to join or not? ETA at least if I spend the $$ I will get into action and maybe get out trialling again Do you guys recommended it?
  3. congratulations, those pelicans are fantastic.
  4. here are a couple of places that spring to mind if you want positive training methods http://planetk9.com.au/ http://www.kodtc.com.au/fastpage/home_page.html/1
  5. Hankdog, that is so funny, my boy does the same thing. Impatients, love the framing, great photo Here is mine for the week, multiple exposure, just because my new camera can :-) I have done multi exposure in film but great to be able to do it in digital. In digitial you can actually tell what the image will look like before you finish the photo so it is a lot different then film, although the 2nd image in this one was the selfie so I couldn't see. The 2nd exposure is me and Tilly, you cant tell but she is trying to give me a kiss - the first image was the one of Tilly with her eyes closed.
  6. That is fantastic, must have been love at first sight :) I love the body language he is showing in the first photo with the look away thing
  7. thanks Megz, it doesn't show up in searches
  8. Gertrude Tahoe is adorable, great photo and her new owners are going to love it. Ktig, he even looks beautiful wet LOL Impatients, harvey does look extremely happy there Weibritty, that is just adorable This is my week 7 shot, just playing with my new little Fuji camera again, shooting from the hip
  9. my facebook couldn't find it - do you have a link?
  10. Well that's why people need to vote! Only 1 of the 9 candidates up for election is a returning committee member. Georgina Beach Tania Kirkland Emma Duff Frank Valastro Sheryl Pretty Jan Robinson David Veless Gwenda Carr Stephen Sapsead 2 of these candidates work in the VCA Office. I'm not sure that is a good combination. That's not correct. NONE of the candidates work in the Office. If you are referring to Tania Kirkland & Emma Duff they are longer employees of DOGS Victoria. Tania Kirkland resigned from her position in 2008 & Emma Duff left in October 2012. these are the two I was referring to. Did not know Emma Duff had resigned and I stand corrected. Tania Kirkland was working in the VCA office in June/July last year when I was in there and I have seen her working there on several ocassions since 2008. If she too is indeed no longer working there then again I stand corrected. Things were running like clockwork bace in 2008 at the office from memory, might be one worth voting for = if I get my votiing papers in time, still waiting

  16. I would recommend Nushots too. I haven't used NuShots but have used their associated company who process for professional clients and they are fantastic.
  17. lovely photos, love those blue eyes Weibritty
  18. Love the photos, ktig you have the most adorable model there, loving that week 4 photo. This is my week 4 photo, taken on my new camera, Fujifilm X-E1 straight out of the camera jpeg. I got it for a smaller camera to carry around, I have only taken a few photos but am loving it. Week 5 is on film on a lomo camera so hopefully it will work, will show it when I finish the roll and process it.
  19. how do you ever managed to get four together all the time, definately a challenge this year TLC It is great to see different dogs in here, thanks for the welcome everyone, hopefully I will do a bit better this year. this is mine for this week, happy Australia Day photo
  20. Looks like she was inhaling it LOL
  21. I might join in, I started last year with Tilly but stopped because her eyes are looking bad (she had cancer removed a few years ago but things went wrong after that, including weepy eyes. Eye specialist said her eyes are fine, just weepy). I am going to start again anyway and I have something which I am hoping will improve the way they look. I need a book of Tilly :)
  22. Cute puppy, but I was expecting something orange and white or liver and white
  23. no problems. Looks like this one requires a generous vet too who will offer help at cost
  24. I saw an article in the Geelong Advertiser today about a charity called Pet Medical Crisis Fund and thought I would share, especially since Pacers is no longer in operation. I could not find the story on paper's website, but it was to get donations to this charity: http://www.petmedicalcrisisfund.com.au/donations.shtml The story was about a dog who broke it's leg in three pacers on the weekend. The owner is a single mother who could not afford the $2000 vet bill, so the charity stepped in. The lady has a three year old daughter who is autistic and the dog really brings her out of her shell. She was facing having the dog put to sleep until she was put in touch with this charity, a good place to support for dog lovers.
