  1. He should get about the same size as his mum (I think the pics are on page 2?) which is about 80cm so he's got a fair bit of growing to do he won't be finished until he's about 3 or 4, I think they get to around 80kg? Not sure but I know I can't pick up an adult mini :) Oh yeah he is just so cute he has the funniest little neigh it's like a little piglet squeal cracks me up
  2. Not sure Raz, the vet estimated him at about 40kg, he probably a little less though, he's able to be picked up he's very tiny :D I reckon I'll have to teach him to stand on a grooming table like a dog cos grooming at that height will do my back in!
  3. Lol Cat no he'll have to have the hose like the big boys :) Branding is mostly for ID and tracking, some microchip as well or instead of these days. The seller wanted him branded with her brand so that he could be identified as coming from her stud (he will also be registered with her prefix), it was a condition of sale and one I was fine with, no skin off my nose :)
  4. Those are awesome pics I went there some years ago the lady who owned it (Stephanie?) was really nice, last thing I knew it was being sold so I don't know if she's still involved.
  5. Sorry I've only just been back to this thread! Yes this, it depends on a lot of things, if it had been up to me he would have been with mum longer as the seller took him off mum at about 3 months. Not something I'd do but I didn't have a lot of say in it unfortunately, he seems to be coping ok though he is getting more independent and he always has the big horses to talk to although he's not in with them. The filly I bred I weaned her at 6 months and she was quite independent and they were both ready to move on, that made it a lot easier. He's doing really well, he had to get branded the other day and he went really well, another thing I would have left longer but the seller wouldn't put his papers in until he was branded so it had to be done. So hopefully he can chill out and rest up for a bit now, he is a pleasure to have around always calls out when he sees me and is always up for a scratch, he is learning not to bite and strike so that is great I think he will be a very well mannered little guy. I'll try and get some more pics it really needs to warm up on the weekend so I can give him a bath :)
  6. Aww she's beautiful I've always had a soft spot for andys :)
  7. I think of him like a My Little Pony only real
  8. Lol as far as horses go they don't get much cheaper or easier than these little dudes :D It was raining and awful last week I was soooo tempted to bring him inside but I was strong and didn't, plus it would have sent the dogs crazy lol.
  9. Thanks :) Yeah he's very good at distracting me I usually can't go outside without him calling me over to give him a scratch, he's got me well trained
  10. Lol he is a cutie that's for sure :) Pers he has a pretty good temperament he is a bit naughty like all foals he bites and strikes and does all those naughty foal things, he is getting better with handling though and of course being the size he is makes it a lot easier to deal with. He loves cuddles and attention so he does try to stay on your good side :)
  11. Lol he's so funny hooning around and then he comes racing back for a scratch
  12. Got some more piccies today, the weather has been awful so the horses are very grotty but it's still too cold to wash, nice enough for a day without rugs though :) .
  13. Lol yeah B is absolutely fascinated by him, they were playing over the fence today so cute! :)
  14. yep! It's been very cold but I've still been outside quite a lot watching them and giving him lots of scratches to get him used to me as he was a bit wary after such a huge adjustment. B is absolutely fascinated and still trying to figure out what he is, Lou is interested but not very friendly.
  15. I think he will scrub up very nicely :)
  16. Thanks tlc I am sure he will earn his keep he doesn't eat much  Yeah pers he is pally pinto so he is mostly pally but he has big white stockings and a couple of white splashes here and there, here are a couple of pics of him at the sellers place about 6 weeks ago:
  17. tlc he will probably do a little bit of showing and this and that, hopefully my nieces will be allowed to do a bit of showing with him (they aren't allowed to have big horses ), maybe a bit of driving later on :) kiesha the seller named him Smiley but I'm not sure if I'll keep it or not, depends if something that suits him better comes to mind :)
  18. Thanks guys he's a cutie all right :) tlc he is a mini pony not sure how tall but likely to be around the 80cm mark. Lol yeah the chestnut has a weatherbeeta polar fleece on :)
  19. He's nearly 4 months old, yep he is sooooo tiny and very sweet :)
  20. Hi everyone just sharing some pics of my new arrival he's very cute and the big horses were amazed lol! (Please excuse my grotty horses and some dodgy pics some were taken on the phone)
  21. Hope your boy is feeling better now :)
  22. I'm up the range so we don't get the public holiday for the Ekka but it would be great to see them :) If you get any pics please post them! While the differences between WSS and white GSDs are a bit of a much of muchness for me (let's face it I'll just be happy if my next dog is easier than a sibe lol) it's great that you are passionate enough about them to go to the effort and expense of importing and promoting them here
  23. Not at all, I'm asking the question as to whether people would have gone to the effort of importing what is essentially a rare breed (WSS) if the ANKC hadn't had such rigid rules regarding white german shepherds. I certainly don't dispute the fact that they are different and have been so for some time, but if you like the white shepherd type but also wanted to show then you are limited to importing a dog instead of having the choice of a locally bred dog from local lines.
  24. What a shamozzle! I am confused as to why the ANKC can't allow registration and breeding of white German shepherds, I'm beginning to understand why people are moving away from the canine registries. If the ANKC had allowed the breeding of white german shepherds would anyone have bothered importing WSS irrespective of the differences in characteristics that you mention?
