  1. Love this rug it's so cute! I wish I could get one for the big horse it would be cool :)
  2. I have a dog door but I'm not in a built up area so I'm less worried about break ins, you can get radio controlled dog doors they have a sensor the dog wears in its collar and the door won't open unless the sensor is there.
  3. Thanks PC its probably not a good enough clip for the show ring but it looks alright from a distance and most of the lines have grown out :) We haven't had any really cold weather lately it's been quite nice of a day but still fairly cool of a night, but TP has a fair few rugs now so even if it gets cold again he'll be ok, I got him the cutest little rug with stars on it from kingstons I'll have to get a pic of him wearing it so gorgeous :D
  4. Thanks all yeah he is awfully cute and very cheeky! :D Yeah OSO I'll probably pull a bit to neaten it up before he has a show but they don't get pulled to the extent that riding horses do :)
  5. Don't know if anyone has posted this but it looks like some interesting doggy related presentations, a bit el dearo for me but might be of interest to those in NSW: Linky
  6. Saw it on facebook the other day, I agree it's an excellent idea :)
  7. Lol Vehs maybe he can go scruffy next winter we will see, it's a lot easier to manage him without all that hair though :) Couple of pics from today he had a trim so his feet are looking much better, it will be a few more trims before his feet are the proper shape as they should have had a bit more attention when he was a foal but they are on track, he was a bit of a horror for the farrier striking and carrying on (I think it's only the second or third trim he's had since he's been here so it's still all a bit new). Anyway he threw a massive tantrum and threw himself on the ground! The farrier and I just burst out laughing it was the funniest thing I'd seen in ages! So TP picked himself up, shook himself off and was really good after that, he apparently needed to get it out of his system! He had a bit of a brush so his mane just went POOF! lol
  8. I know someone who does house sitting she looks after pets as well PM me your contact details and ill pass them on :)
  9. I agree with this, breed research and owner education is key but also the social factors need to be addressed, plenty of people think its fine to get rid of the dog if they move or go on holiday and they generally aren't pulled up for it.
  10. Ok you've all twisted my arm, even though I'm a bit embarrassed to put pics up at the moment because he's well overdue for a trim, he was done 6 weeks ago but obviously has grown far too much foot in that time so I need to start doing a bit myself in between visits, I haven't started yet as the farrier is coming Friday anyway but I will have to stay on top of it for next time as they are looking awful. Breakfast noms Scratchies Up close and personal This is the face he makes when he's getting back scratches it's so funny
  11. Lol ok guys I will see what I can do, I dare say you will only get muddy pony pics this arv though its been raining today, hopefully no hail at home though poor pony wouldn't like that I'm sure.
  12. Lol yeah they look pretty different when they are clipped out don't they? He was sold as mini pony but those fine legs are looking more like mini horse to me now that they aren't so hairy. We've had some hot weather the last few days so I'm sure he's feeling much more comfortable :)
  13. I hate spiders, they creep me out for reasons unknown, even the harmless ones. Possibly because of their tendency to suddenly appear right next to you without warning, I was on the phone once and a huntsman jumped on my head, poor person on the other end probably got hearing damage from my yelling and swearing
  14. Awww look at the little munchkins they are so cute :D
  15. Thanks Raz yeah he was pretty hairy there is about as much hair on the ground as there is when brushing the husky when he's blowing coat! He was very very good with the clippers muh more tolerant than those naughty big horses. :)
  16. Lol yep it's a pretty big difference  No he's not as fluffy now but he'll be happy to be rid of all that hair now that it's getting quite warm during the day, when I started clipping mid afternoon he was sweating between his legs and it was only about 22 degrees today so I'm very glad I finally got around to taking it off. He's still pretty cuddly though :)
  17. Tiny pony got a haircut today :D Before: After: It was very exciting hooning around without all that hair lol I do have a bit of video I'll try and upload it later :)
  18. The gardens are just stunning at this time of year. Try the scented gardens and Laurel bank park on Herries st they are really nice as well.
  19. Nice looking fellow, but that photo looks like he has been cut out of another picture and plonked in the middle of that yard? Or just badly photoshopped in general? Dunno, I thought it was just a show pic? Oh they are cute! Got the cutest little show halter for him arrived today so of course I had to try it on, I haven't shaved him yet but it's definitely on the cards as the weather is getting warmer. :)
  20. Lol yeah he's pretty cheeky all right, he tried to double barrel me yesterday lucky for me his feet didn't reach me but he got growled at anyway, you usually can't go anywhere in the paddock without him following and trying to bite lo, he's getting better though. :)
  21. Lol he is a crack up all right :) Here's a pic of him today he got to play in B's yard for a bit and was checking out the huge feeders lol
  22. Chis are definitely trainable :) They aren't as biddable as some breeds but they are very smart and you should have no problem, I'd probably avoid that instructor though as a negative attitude towards a particular breed is not a great starting point. You need to take into account some of the physical aspects, their eyes are better at close up vision than far away, and my little chi took ages to pick up 'sit' because I was trying to teach him on a lino floor and he didn't like to put his bum on the cold floor lol! Once I moved to carpet he was fine. :) Little things like that I would take into account but there is no reason you can't train your little guy.
