  3. Oh, I just can't stop crying after reading your post and seeing those beautiful pictures, yes, she does look so special. We can't see through people, we can only go on what they want us to see. Keep looking at her happy pictures Kirty, you want those to be the one's in your heart when you think of Millie. The stupid new owners let you and Millie down so badly - I don't know a rescuer who hasn't been heartbroken by people. huge hugs darlin. fifi, danny & hounds xxxx
  4. oh no, I'm so saddened to read this - hugs to you Kaz, and to Sas & all who loved Xander. The ultimate lap dog, the consumate boofer. love fifi, dannyhobbit & hounds xxxxx
  5. A grade one murmour may in all possibilty resolve by 12 weeks. And if it doesn't worsen and the pup is in otherwise healthy condition, it's unlikely to affect her life, but something you would need to keep in mind if she is taken to a vet for anaesthesia. Get the breeder's vet to do a written report / letter for you before you pick her up, maybe the breeder could keep her for longer to ensure you pick up a healthy pup. How devastating for the breeder and disappointing for you. fifi
  6. there was a thread here a week ago, if you have a look - there was a fair bit of info & some links.

    Desexing

Rubbish - my girls are the same huntresses be they entire or speyed. I have vet nursed at a rural practice - the working dogs that were desexed (usually for med reasons!) stayed good workers. fifi
  9. Oh SM, I'm utterly devastated for you - Jaeger was such a handsome and wonderful boy. bloody tears flowing here for you darlin. huge hugs from fifi, danny & hounds xxx
  10. Yep, definatley stuff to ask your breeder. Be very careful with the amount of road work you do with a large breed pup, a lot of damage can be caused to young joints. fifi
  11. Thank you for letting us know, will be sending all is well thoughts. fifi
  12. What's him temp like MM ? and his skin return ? fifi
  13. Hopefully he is just off colour and will bounce back very soon. fifi
  14. Keep an eye on his poos and temperature, & vet quickly if he doesn't improve. I wouldn't give the puppy milk, water at this point. And only bland food. Do you have any nutrigel ? fifi

  20. Sending healing vibes for your boy's quick recovery. My Navarre had prostate cancer, he had advanced age (for a giant breed) at diagnosis, but after castration went on for a long time with the protate cancer almost in remission for years. fifi
  21. As with the other's ...........NEW VET !! It really is better to wait until at least 12 months to desex in the giant breeds anyway, they really need time to develop. in many years of vet nursing, I have never seen a retained teste cause problems in a young dog. Can the other teste be felt ? if so then there is still a chance of it descending, and if not, then the dog can safely wait until 12 months anyway. The chance of a retained teste turning cancerous or causing issues between 4months & 12months, are sooooo minimal that the vet needs a reality check. fifi
  22. My old boy Ciaran came down years ago with meningitis & spondylosis, similar symtoms initially. They also thought he had intersusseption, but ultrasound helped rule that out. Hopefully your boy has just a nasty bug and the AB's will kick in quickly. sending good thoughts, fifi
  23. We usually walk a gentle oldie with our pups, but sounds like Suede (great name) is still very much a big puppy. Perhaps you & Sued's owner could take them on a lead walk together, so their initial meeting is more controlled, they have the edge taken off with a little walk, and then a little play in the yard. If it's still too rough, remove one. take you puppy to classes & other socialising events as well so that Lolly learns that not all meetings with other dogs are straight away rough & tumble. Teach her that when she is on lead is walk, stand or sit quietly time. the Training forum on here will be able to help you more. fifi
  24. why not have a think about the gazebo tents, oztrail have gazebo tents that fit the deluxe model (not sure if they fit sideways into a sedan though. the other thing to consider is a small camper trailer, they fold out in seconds and you and the dogs have a nice bed above ground with a secure tent for your living area. around. fifi
  25. exactley as Miranda said. I started to type a response but realised Miranda had covered it well already. people in the yard supervised play for a little while is okay, but as soon as it gets rough, time to call time out and separate them. fifi
