  1. LOVE this one :) Me too!! I've only come up with: Abbie Crombie (Abercrombie) Abbie Loney (abalone) Abbie Gail
  2. I'm in love with the Aussie Terrier sculptures! Their curiosity and spirit has been perfectly captured! My favourite is this one:
  3. There's also a difference in muzzle colour between the American and Japanese Akitas. The Japanese can have a white muzzle but the American has black ... I think.
  4. She wasn't sacked for stealing money when she works in retail?!
  5. Well there are lots of things wrong about that situation. If you weren't on the phone at the checkout it wouldn't have happened. BUT, the little thieving turd shouldn't have stolen the money and deserved being sacked and the possible criminal record. What a complete cow and sucked in she got caught. I have no tolerance for thieves.
  6. My guys have once had porterhouse steak and boy did they enjoy it!! They also rarely get to indulge on a lamb shank too. Depending on what the meat looks like at Woolies in terms of quality, I'll usually get the blade steak, but I've actually just moved onto kangaroo steaks for them as it's less fatty. It just looks awful and makes me just thinking about it!
  7. Oh wow! These are such feel good stories!! 3 years for a missing rottie ... you must've been beyond overjoyed!
  8. I kept hoping for updates on Angeline but after hearing nothing on here for a while I feared the worst. She has been in my thoughts and I'm so pleased to hear she's been returned!! Bet you've retightened security around the home again! Fantastic news and thanks for letting us know!!
  9. Invest in a long line/leash. I got one from Black Dog; it's 10m long and I chose the one that has a very light clip because Zeus always knew when he was still attached to a lead. Also, do you have any areas that are fenced in such as a park, sporting oval? I started Zeus's recall training at a football ground, which is fully fenced and I found that it helped keep him contained.
  10. I'd be interested to know more about this product too. I was given enough samples of both the cat and dog dry food that I have enough for a full 3kg bag! I'm also looking into switching my guys off Royal Canin because I'm looking for a cheaper option to try. With the RC, one's on the Small Dog sensible and the other is on the Medium Breed sensible so I'm looking into any brand that doesn't differentiate between dog weights. It also appears that RC has changed the formula of their Sensible food as the new stuff isn't as greasy as my previous batches. Dogs are still doing okay on it but this Nutro Natural Choice sounded interesting.
  11. I've grown up with Aussie Terriers and will always have one or two in my life. I love their feisty, cop no sh*t attitude and the fact that it's like having a large dog personality in a compact sized dog suits me well. Growing up I've always wanted an OES and might have one someday, but I'd also love to try out the saluki. Having Zeus, a beagle cross, I've fallen in love with the hound personality. I love the size and beauty of a saluki and would love to own one!
  12. I guess something to look at would be the training aspect of a new puppy. You said you work full time, so if you were to introduce a pup early 2013, how would the training go because you'll then have two young dogs requiring different levels of training. Would you have time for two training sessions? I think your Pom would benefit from the company -- I find it sad that your housemate doesn't really interact with him although I can understand that it's your pet so she might just prefer to leave him alone. Have you owned multiple dogs before? I ask because I never had and having 2 has been a real learning curve for me. There's twice the trouble but twice the puppy love!
  13. I've currently got two for the first time and I don't think I'll ever do two again. But it's hard for me to say because with anything, owning more than one dog is a learning curve and I'm still learning.
  14. Donatella, can I suggest buying the over 25 kilo dog packets of Advantix? Your little Pom pup doesn't weigh all that much and by slitting the dosages, you'll save quite a bit of money. I use a 2mL syringe from the chemist and a little Manicare travel jar to store the unused liquid.
  15. Aww just look at that gorgeous face! What a cutie pie!
  16. If the products have the same Latin name/genus then I'm pretty sure they're the same product/species. I did order 2 big tubs of ProDen Plaque Off from the UK a few months ago and had no trouble with customs. Shipping only took about 2 weeks too!
  17. CaseyKay your girl is beautiful!! What a stunning lady!!
  18. Daisy is such a gorgeous girl!! You must be so over the moon that this lady contacted you, resulting in such a lovely reunion. Thank you for sharing Daisy's story!
  19. In my mind yes a dog does require papers to be considered 'purebred'. Proof of lineage doesn't mean purebred. Look at the case of all the LabradorxPoodles being called 4th/5th generation purebred Labradoodles just because there's proof of lineage. If you look at the definition of pedigree it means: 1) an ancestral line, line of descent, lineage, ancestry 2) A genealogical table, chart, list or record especially of an animal 3) Distinguished, excellent or pure ancestry and to me this is what a pedigree is. More like a family tree rather than a status. But it is a rather grey distinction between the two. Edited to fix typos
  20. Hope your little cutie is doing well Destroya. Don't worry too much about the lump; old dogs tend to get lots of these. Sending luck and healing vibes to your darling boy!
  21. I just purchased a Backseat Buddy small size for my Getz. I haven't fitted it yet as I'm in desperate need of having my car washed inside and out, but once it's done I can't wait to use it. I got it from the local Pet Stock who had a price tag on it of $250 -- the guy in the store discounted it to $150 as he's been trying to sell it for ages. Couldn't believe my luck because even internetting them I've only found the small size available for upwards of $200 not including postage so to me, this was a steal!
  22. That's fantastic news!! I'm so glad that Lola is home safe :D
