  1. Ohh his eyes roll outwards. Totally different from them rolling inwards and the hairs irritating his corneas. He is likely to have dry eye because he can't close his eyes properly.
  2. Mine get it purely because Monte is on it for his epilepsy. I only give it to the other Pugs a few days a week on average and Monte every day. Yeah I think that if I did start giving it I would only do it a few days a week.
  3. It can be up to two weeks till symptoms appear.
  4. I've been thinking about giving fish oil to my pugs. Not sure that it's necessary though. They get sardines once a week and they also get kelp and flaxseed oil in their dinner every night.

    Need Help

I like the idea of the platform that he can get up on to look outside instead of having to jump up at the window. What about baby gates? They are harder to forget to close for your mum. Try ebay for cheap ones.
  6. I'm a bit confused here. What does pigment have to to with entropion. Isn't entropion about eyelashes growing inwards and rubbing on the eye? The pigementation is what occurs from the irritation of the eyelashes rubbing on the eye.
  7. Had my pug boy done when he was about 4 and have been through the operation with another few rescues. It will stop any further pigmentation occuring but it's the eye drops that you use afterwards that take the pigmentation that is already there away. Normal vets do know how to perform the surgery but they usually like to send you to an eye specalist to get the procedure done. Here in Melbourne there are two main eye specalists with one of them charging nearly double the amount for the same surgery so it may pay to shop around.
  8. What breed of dog? Is it the iris that has changed colour? Could it be like human babies? They all seem to start out with cloudy dark eyes and then they slowly get their end colour.
  9. Was going to suggest yeast infection. Change his diet to an all natural one without any grains in it.
  10. Sounds like he is being a brat and he knows that you guys fall for it. Dogs know when they have it over their owners. Try a hot water bottle in his crate/bed and perhaps you could put in a piece of clothing that smells like you.
  11. Um why not use newspaper? Much cheaper and easier to clean up. If you are really worried you could put a plastic tarp under the newspaper.
  12. As others have said get your vet to write a script and take it to your chemist. Any drug that is a human drug you can get your vet to write a script for and chemists will make it up for your dogs.
  13. To my knowlege there have been no studies that have shown that these Holistic treatments work. If there were studies to show that they worked then I would love to use them but I would rather not take the risk. Some people don't heartworm at all but if you are living in an area that has a high prevalance of heartworm then you are taking a great risk.
  14. Ohh I also know of two pugs that were in a Melbourne boarding kennel this month and came home with KC.
  15. Angel who is 12 1/2 months old is fed a raw diet and I mix the whole egg, including shell into her mix. None of my others have any problems at all with eggs, just Angel. When my daughter was younger, she used to be allergic to eggs but she seems to have grown out of it. I use 8 to 10 whole eggs, including shells, in my bucket of BARF slops. The pugs get 2 to 3 tablespoons in their dinner everyday. So it's only a small quantity that they are getting in each meal. Are you mixing a whole egg per meal? Maybe try a smaller amount or cooking scrambled eggs. I will scramble eggs with the shells every now and again as a treat for the pugs.
  16. What do you feed? Have you tried her on an antihistamine?
  17. I know of dogs that came out of the RSPCA Burwood shelter here in Melbourne in May and June that had it.
  18. Where do you think your dog got this from? It's mother? Being feed infected meats? From being around other infected animals?
  19. When I used to feed dry food I tried cracking a raw egg into it a couple of times but the pugs would throw up from it. I then would scramble the eggs if it was egg day and they were fine. Now I feed a BARF diet I add raw eggs and their shells to the veggie/fruit slops that I make. I put them through the blender with the other stuff. The pugs are fine with the raw eggs this way.
  20. I use paw paw ointment on my psoriosis and my friend uses it as a lip gloss. I I am thinkingit can't be that bad if she puts it on her lips.
  21. Have you tried her on minced chicken carcussus or sardines? Maybe you could even mix up some chicken or beef stock and put that onto the dried food.
  22. I don't feed them as they are to fatty and my bopy pug would get sick after he had eaten one.
  23. Could you put the crate in a puppy pen so that the pup could go on newspaper during the night? The two foster pug pups I have had for the last few months sleep in a bed in a puppy pen at night so if they really need to go they can go on the newspaper. I usually get up during the night to let my adult pugs out to the toilet, they sleep in bed with me so I will hear them when they get off my bed, so I also let the pups out during the night as well.
  24. Is it bright red blood? If so then I probably would worry. If it's watery or brownish I wouldn't worry to much. If it's gushing then I would worry but if it's just a blotch on his bedding or himself then I wouldn't worry.
