No no, I downloaded the software to my card then put it in the camera and upgraded that way. I am always worried when I push the card into the reader that the little pins will bend, thats not a worry with an SD card.

Thanks I think so too, I have learnt to toggle focus points with spot, single point or expansion depending on what I am shooting which seems to be working. with the dogs and close ups I nearly always need to have the focus point/points at the top of the screen to get their faces in focus. Its such a learning curve with this camera as it is obviously capable of so much, focusing was never an issue with the Nikon it just worked but then again it wasn't such a sophisticated camera like the 7D. I also notice how some images seem soft, not just on focus but all over but I have read a few times that good quality filters can help with the image being better. I have only got cheap filters on both of my lenses, so must invest in some better filters soon. Thanks also for the advice about the tracking.

Well I ended up updating mine, I wasn't going to do it but I am on the 7D facebook page and they all did it and had no problem, so I thought what the heck. Thing is I didnt know the camera well enough to now know what the changes are but I just figure its done. I always remembered at the photography course I did the teacher said its always better to use a card reader rather than plug your whole camera into the computer, not sure why though. I dont think it would be a hassle for the camera shop to upgrade for you, it was so easy, nothing to it really. I was expecting it to be really complicated! :laugh:

I checked ebay and they had heaps for around $5 so I just got one of them, Mine has been so unreliable so just hope it holds out until the new one gets here. :)

ok, fair enough, I need a new card reader, mine is a cheap crappy one and unmounts the cf card mid download, so annoying! I had a look at Harvey Norman today but couldnt see any, I didnt bother asking as they were flat out. On the upside my camera was $300 more than it was when I got mine. Usually its the other way around. :laugh:

Im guessing by now everyone has heard about the lady who went over the cliff. Poor lady, poor family. I was out and about after training today, I decided to have a drive and take Lacy for a little photo shoot and I seen the Helicopter and then the cops had thunder point blocked off so no one could go up there. There was a video on the standard website but it seems they have removed it now.

Feel like I am getting on track with focus now. Lacy and I went to Obedience this morning and then went for a drive.

Had a brain wave today when I came home from work, decided if we got longer legs for the original one we had we could extend it all the way to the floor, so off we went to bunnings and got a SS pole the same size but longer as the legs, tomorrow we try it, fingers crossed it will work.

I loooovvveee best friends and on occasion have got some very good bargains there. Actually the swags i got the dogs for when we travel were originally around the $80 mark and 4 @ $80 was just too much to pay but in recent months they have been clearing them out and I got them all for around the $25 mark. Also my girls have got jackets that cost $45 here at pet stock, Best friends $10 each, I really think it may have been an error but who am I to complain. :laugh: I will check out Pet Barn next time I go down that way, Its funny i have never even been into the BGS at WP, havent been into that complex at all.

You can definatley do it with the camera plugged in, it gives clear instruction in the pdf that came with the downloaded software. Have you opened the download and had a look at it? There is a pdf that comes with it, it is the instructions or how to install and includes, installing from the cf card and installing directly to the camera with the cord.

Yea there was 3 of the door, apparently they were special orders which were never collected anyway their loss is my gain. My lot stay inside while we are not home so won't have access to use it while we are not here but when I'm home they will be able to come and go as they please. I like to know where they are and what they are doing when Im not here. I also have puppy spy cam, it is so awesome, but pretty boring as all they do is sleep, I check in with them when Im not home and occasionally there is a change of position but thats about it. :laugh: Geelong has a pet barn? how did I not know this?
