  1. Metrogyl shouldn't harm the puppy if it's only a prophylactic dose. The blood and mucousy look of the second photo looks a lot like what I used to see in rescue pups with a heavy worm burden. I'd be looking at hookworm or whipworm moreso than the usual roundworm/tapeworm. Need an all-wormer like Canex that will cover most types of worms. Drontal will cover all worms, but may also make your pup nauseous/sick if the worm burden is a large one. T.
  2. Show those pictures to the new vet... I'd say that your pup may have a case of worms and may need at least a worming treatment. I've found that Canex is better on the gut than Drontal... ask for Canex if the vet has it. May I ask what you are feeding the pup? Oh - and we definitely need to see some photos of the cute pup in question... *grin* T.
  3. Interesting that the vet gave out Metrogyl for the pup... seems they suspect Giarda or the like... You really need to see a vet not affiliated in any way with the pet store. Take a poo sample with the blood and have it tested for specifically Giardia/Coccidia (fecal float - will also show any other worm infestations), and Parvo. The tests are not overy cheap, but not overly expensive either - and are a small price to pa when you consider that it's for your pup's health and well being that you find out exactly what is wrong and get it treated quickly. T.
  4. Maybe contact Redbubble support and let them know of this strange new member... if they are spamming or scamming, Redbubble will remove them poste haste methinks. T.
  5. Is that even legal? I know in some states it isn't... T.
  6. He's lucky that he wasn't impaled on those curved posts when the croc went for the shake before dragging him into the pool... I'll commend him for his actions during and after the bite... but you gotta admit he was a bit silly trying to grab food out of the croc's mouth in the first place. You'd think that someone who does this sort of thing for a living would be a little more careful. Maybe this is going to be a reminder to him that he needs to be less cocky with his shows in future... T.
  7. Blood in a pup's stool can mean many things... some benign, and some life threatening. If you can, take a sample of the poo to the vet with you, so they can see the extent of the issue. It could be anything from the pup straining to pass the poo and making a small tear in the anal passage - in which case the blood will be bright red and look more like a smear across the poo - to a case of worms, to some sort of haemorrhagic gut disease like Parvo. There are tests that the vet can run for things like Giardia/Coccidia and Parvo - I would have those tests done on the poo sample you take in just to be completely sure of what you are dealing with. How is the pup's overall demeanour? Is he eating, drinking, and playing like a normal and healthy pup? If not - he needs to see a vet earlier rather than later. T.
  8. I reckon that croc would make for some tough and chewy meat... but he might make some lovely bags and shoes... *grin* T.
  9. He's meant to be with you perse... that's his "job"... T.

  13. Can I borrow Maddie for a day trip to Manly then? *grin* Pickles has been known to TRY to catch birds, but she's just that little bit too uncoordinated for the manouever... lol! T.
  14. He'd just chased 4 sets of people away from the tables... one of the families had a toddler in a stroller and the bloody bird was swooping into the stroller to steal the kid's munchies! Luckily I had the long lens on for that shot... he was sizing ME up! T.
  15. We need to take Maddie to Manly then HW... the seagulls need culling big time! T.
  16. This guy would have taken Maddie on... he was feral! 14-06-2014-seagulls-manly 579 by tdierikx, on Flickr T.
  17. I think a lot of people both like the concept of "new breeds" (read anything ending with "oodle"), and there are also quite a few people thinking up "breed" names for their various crosses in order to make a buck (original sounding names for "breeds" sell like hotcakes). Used to be you could look in the trading post and see lots of oops litters of crossbreeds free to a good home... nowadays, people are whacking stupid names on the crosses and charging huge bucks for them... beggars belief really. T.
  18. Will Stan do THIS for food? 14-06-2014-seagulls-manly 071 by tdierikx, on Flickr T.
  19. Wasn't it somewhere in South America (Brazil?) where they have lots of stray dogs roaming about trying to fend for themselves? Is that what PETA are aiming for? T.
