  1. Mistral loves stones and pretty much anything else he can put in his mouth that could hurt him :D We ended up cleaning out everything from our yard that he could put in his mouth, it took forever but now he cant swallow stones, while he is on a walk I have to keep a very close eye on him as he will try to pick up everything, we have taught him leave it and drop it which has taken some time but has finally started working, its been a life saver!
  2. Puppies sleep more when they are growing, Mistral would sleep a lot some days and then hardly anything another, I have to admit the sleeping was much more helpful, when he was up he was and still is getting into everything. If the pup is really sluggish when awake I would take him to the vet, otherwise, if hes happy and bouncy, eating and drinking well just sounds like normal pup behaviour. And JSK, your little one will be doing a huge amount of sleeping, its still very young, dont worry, it will be up soon and you will be wishing for those long hours of sleep. :D
  3. Surely she would yelp if she was in any pain. You should see what my two get up too , I have nearly had a heart attack a number of times but no-one ever cries out and dogs are very happy to let the other know when something hurts them. I would just keep a close eye on them when playing and step in if you think he is getting a little rough.

    Barking!

Have you tried teaching his to bark on command and then to be quiet on command? My samoyed is a brilliant barker, I swear that dog loves the sound of his own voice, so we tried teaching speak and then quiet, works a treat. He still will bark if someone has pulled up in the driveway or knocks on the door or if the cats ar fighting (which we will allow as we do want him to let us know if there is something going on we should know about) but now everytime he goes on for more then half a minuet we tell him to be quiet and call him away from whatever is stimulating him. Works really well for us.
  5. Oh very odd, I am pretty sure its general practise to remove both.
  6. My boys wont touch them no matter what I do to make them taste better.
  7. it wont do her any damage at all to cry all night, you wont feel good but it will teach her that crying and crying will get her nowhere. My SAmoyed pup is very funny about crying to be let out in the morning. When I am at home alone he wont make a peep until I get out and go let him out. But if my OH is here its the Sammie version of the temper tantrum of a life time. Mistral knows that when my OH is around me almost always gets what he wants so he will work for it and the dediccation he puts into is truely mind blowing. One word from me though and he is instantly quiet. I have to train my OH more then my dog
  8. I found that I only had to pay 130 for my Lab boy who weighed about 24 kilo at the time, I was just happy they did a good job, price really dosn't bother me.
  9. My girl a good number of years ago now went in in the morning and was out by the afternoon, she certainly wasnt her usual insane self and chose to sleep for about 2 days but otherwise she was fine.
  10. oh I am getting one of those packs for my Lab, he can carry things when we go for hikes! Saves me doing it anyway
  11. Even if it didn't work it would be seriously funny to watch
  12. Like everyone else has said, Aloveen, I use it on my puppy and my older dog.
  13. My OH is wonderful about all my animals, when we got our newest pup it was a joint decision. He does insist I do all the training but I am happy with that as his training method is terrible! Other then that he helps with everything. But we have been together for a long time now and have got a good understanding with each other.
  14. I coat my Lab in winter as he has sore hips when its cold but he only wears them outside and while I am with him.
  15. I know exactly how you feel, Mistral loves doing exactly the same thing! When he does it during the day, well, I just dry his feet and and floor, not a huge amount I can do about that, but at night while he is in his crate, we get one of those buckets that attatch to the side, he can drink easily but as the sides are so high he has real trouble digging and chasing it around, also its pretty narrow and that seems to annoy him. I don't know how tall your girl is, so this might not work right now, but it might when she is older. Other then that I can't help, my mother in law is still trying to get her Newf to stop ;)
  16. I find Aloveen Oatmeal shampoo and conditioner is just the best stuff around, its really good for their skin too.
  17. I am currently training my Sammie in finnish as we are moving to finland soon and thought it would be good for both him and myself.
  18. Both mine will eat grass when I let them out but rarely do they vomit. I highly suspect that my Sammie just likes ripping all the grass up however
  19. Does he seem to be in any pain?
  20. My 13 week old Sammie does the same thing. He will get his most beloved toy, (whatever he has decided it is for that hour) and come and sit with or on me or my OH and just chew away until something distracts him.
