  1. I had real trouble booking my dog into obediance into Belconnon, any information I tried to get never answered my questions so I went with CDC and they are wonderful. Mistral has been having a great time there, everyone is very friendly abd helpful, we are loving it. But if fuel is an issue go with Belconnen.
  2. And yet more Jhonen Vasquez with a Wobbly headed Bob "These hands!! I can't get them off my wrists" user title & "Spinning Ball of Waste " location here. ;) :p
  3. I feed lestat two small meals twice a day, he is like a vaccum and we are worried about large meals and bloating, so he gets morning and night. Mistral still being a puppy gets fed three times a day.
  4. I use cheese on occasion for treats while training, the boys just love it. Other things i use are bacon, chicken, liver treats, cabanossi, devon, 4paws wet food chopped up into smaller bits (they go crazy for that) and at home i just use kibble, they seem happy with that. Both boys also love apple, never tried pear or strwberries however.
  5. There was a thread on here about this awhile ago but I cant find it for you. Give him lots of things to chew, bones, pigs ears, something that will really work the teeth and this should help the baby teeth fall out. Lestat had two double canines until he was about a year old, didnt bother him and they where still nice and white. We where planning on having them pulled when he got desexed but they fell out a few days before. Mistral still has one baby tooth we are keeping an eye on. Give it a little time, keep an eye on them, if they start changing colour get them pulled as it can cause an infection in the mouth, otherwise try the chewing method seems to work pretty well. If they seem really stubborn them have them pulled.
  6. I started walking mine together as soon as I got Mistral. I had the help of my partner in the begining and we walked the together, each being taught what to do and what not to do. Slowly they got use to it and now I can easily walk both together alone.
  7. I got a grooming table from the begining as I knew I would be brushing Mistral very often. It was harder in the begining as he liked to wiggle around a lot but we sorted that out. He was taught stand and stay before anything else. I would quickly do his legs, chest and stomach then get him to lay down and finish up the rest. It works well for us. Be calm and consistant, I treated him for his good behaviour but no longer do so as he knows if he is good he will get a treat at the end. Every time I pull the grooming table out Mist comes running and cant wait to get up
  8. Have you wormed her recently?
  9. I have had a similar problem with a rescue I recently had and my Samoyed and I am by no means a trainer or anything but . . . You dont have to ignore them both forever. They can have cuddles but when you are hugging, Ghost for example and Orion jumps up and starts begging for attention thats when you get up and walk away. You are discouraging the behaviour in both dogs. Your telling Ghost that you wont accept him attitude towards orion and your telling Orion that he has to wait his turn. With the crate training you have to pick one spot and stick to it. He can scream blue murder (and I know sibes will scream very well) but ignore him. Moving him around will only enforce the behaviour of crying = attention. This is a highly intelligent breed and they will take you for all your worth. As for Ghost and Orion, honnestly I would seek the advice of a behaviourlist as soon as possible. This reaction from Ghost isnt what you want and without propper managment could get a lot worse. A behaviourlist can tell you exactly what the issue is and help you correct it so you dont have to ignore your dogs forever. Until then I would keep the dogs apart unless you are watching them, Ghost could go after Orion again and you might not have time to step in. Be careful and good luck. EDT - to fix some stuff.

Thankyou all for your kind words and thoughts
  12. My Lab would eat his own as a pup but he's stopped now, thankfully. But both will get into any kind of other poo you can think off, roo, possum, horse cow, its all good but the best it the kitty litter I have to be extra vigilent to keep them out of that. We call it kitty crunchies here
  13. Sending lots of good vibes your way, i really hope he gets better, poor little guy.
  14. My boy did that a lot as a younger pup but he seems to be growing out of it now.

Thankyou everyone. We knew this was coming but knowing it and having to do it are very different things. Again thankyou for your kindness.

Satu left us at 1pm today. It had been a real fight with her from the day we got her from the pound only a month ago. She was so sick and going down hill so fast. But for the short while we had her she brought joy into our lives and she will be greatly missed. "Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice but falling in love with you I had no control over." - unknown "There is a sadness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness but of power. They speak more eloquently then ten thousand tongues. They are messages of over whelming grief and unspeakable love" washington irving And for you my sweet girl I did weep ten thousand tears and more . . . fare thee well
  17. Oh I'm so sorry Rysup! RIP Darcy
  18. i gotta say Fevah you pick some pretty brilliant names.
  19. have both dogs on lead, let them meet for the first time in a nutural place like a park and then walk them back together so they can get a good smell of each other. Other then that I would keep a very close eye on them over the next few days, all interaction should be supervised and when you go out keep them appart just until everyone has settled down. Someone else should be able to give more detailed examples of what to do.
  20. I agree with everything Shell has said, also I would keep them seperated while you are not at home just incase.
  21. That second class you mentioned sounds much better, far more useful for a puppy anyway. I have been taking Mistral to obediance, we started 2 weeks ago and its great fun. We are in the puppy class (just under the age cut off of six months) and we learn things like wait for food, sitting, staying, dropping, walking on leash without pulling, off leash recall (none of the pups are great at that yet however) and the pups get to play as well, its good fun Mistral gets stacks of socialisation which is good as we live in the country and dont see many other dogs and although he knows all the things we are learning at home his distraction training really needs work and this is helping us heaps. We got to the local obediance club and everyone there is lovely. Your dog is never too young to be learning IMO.
  22. Mistral goes crazy for pretty much everything he is the most toy driven dog i have ever known, but the top hits are his rope bone, chicken on a rope (a string of plastic drumsticks on a rope) his mace on a rope (same deal as the chickens but a big soft plastic mace at either end, he likes hitting people with that one) and offcause quackers the soft toy duck that quacks, everyone loves that duck I have gone threw about six of them over the last 8 months. He also loves his nyla bone. BTW Terra that photo of Jedi is just adorable!
  23. You poor thing, hard isnt it. But you have to stay strong, if you give in she will only do this longer. Ignore her is the best thing, hard but true. She will stop needing the toilet a lot less soon but for now when to take her out dont talk to her dont cuddle just walk her outside, wait for her to do her thing and then right back in the crate without a word. Hope it gets better for you all soon
