  1. One of my cats has a tattoo but the others never got theirs. My Lab was tattooed but it faded and now there is nothing there, but its pretty easy to tell he is desexed.
  2. I generally use flat rogz collars cause I cant find lupine where I live , lupine are brilliant however! I dont like to leave the collar on the pup however when I am out, he is crated so there is no issue of him getting out and running off, but he could hurt himself with it left on.
  3. Lestat will go in the bushes so no one can see what he is doing, a very modest puppy Mistral dosn't care, he's happy enough to go in the middle of the road, anywhere he feels like really.
  4. i had exactly the same issue with my Samoyed pup when he was younger. He wouldn't touch any dry dog food at all, nothing we could do would get him to eat it. We ended up putting raw meat in there and mixing it really well and its really good for him, now he loves it! I also changed he dry kibble to Pro Plan which he just goes crazy for and will eat with nothing else in it. You could also try fish, sardines and tuna the spitz breeds really seem to love it.

    What Sex?

i would say get a boy, two girls can have real issues.
  6. A dog I had years ago was like that, he was never allowed inside as he would mark everything the minuet he walked threw the door. The back yard would be inspected every day at various times to make sure no one had marked his areas, and the other dogs where peed on sometimes as they belonged to him too. He was a rescue so we had no idea what age he had been desexed but he continued doing it until the day he died at the ripe old age of 13. He had no health issues or anything, just very dominant.
  7. hmmm boy names Tarot Wolf Finn Boreas (male name version for the northern lights) Remi Rasmus Taavi Thor Kaizer Gunner I find boys easier to name then girls.
  8. Oh its lovely, thankyou very much
  9. Hi, as much as I love my current sig another beautiful dog has been added to my family and Mistral is growing up so much he now looks nothing like what he does in those older photos. If anyone would please be able to make up a new sig for me I would be very, very thankful. New pics of Mistral Lestat One of Mistral and Lestat together And our new girl Satu I dont mind which photos are used. Thanks again
  10. My Sammie did that to the metal stool legs in the kitchen I have no idea why he was doing it, maybe it felt good on his sore gums as he was teething badly at the time. I would try to distract him from it, with toys, encourage playing with this he is allowed too, you could spray a bitter spray on the objects to see if that stops him, as it will damage his teeth if he continues to do it but there is a good chance he will grow out of it.
  11. I had a few issues with my Samoyed pup at around that age, he was going threw grow spurts at the time. I agree with what lizandel says about the food. Is your pup overly lethargic or sleeping a lot?
  12. I agree with Settrlvr, they will let you know when they want out. Remember to put pics up of your new puppy!
  13. Hmmm well i know that i caught it when one of my dogs got it years ago, as did most other people in my family, and I am pretty sure that we dont have weak ammune systems . . . oh well. I was told once by a vet that i should get my Samoyed desexed at 4 months (Yeah i dont think so) and that it is hard for people to catch sarcoptic mange, when my OH mother caught it . . . I guess they all have different oppinions. Dont stress too much about it, it is easily treatable but its a good idea IMO just to keep everything nice and clean so that you reduce the chance of it spreading. AS for the bedding, well that sounds like pretty typical behaviour from a puppy. Until my Lab was out of the teething stage I didnt bother getting him nice expensive beds cause he kept destroying them. Maybe try a different kind of bedding like, an old blanket or something that isnt stuffed with fun things to rip out . Otherwise I cant really help, I only just bought a nice expensive new bed for my dogs and the Lab is now well over 3 and slightly off topic, you have a Jap Spitz, come and join us on the Spitz thread! We would just love to see some pics of your little baby .
  14. Luke W is right, crate training sounds like the way to go. Worked wonders for my hard to toilet train Samoyed, 5 months and he finally gets the message It is also possible that because you are outside doing things that she is over stimulated and thinking about playing and hanging around with you instead of going to the toilet.
  15. How old is she and what breed? Some breeds are much harder to toilet train then others.
  16. You will know if you have them, a ring will show up just like on your pup and thankfully people dont have huge amounts of fur so it makes it easier to see I am not sure that the cream is over the counter or not, I got ours from the vet, so yours should be able to tell you all about that. As for the bedding, I would use a disinfectant, like detol or something similar and then hang in the sun for a good amount of time. Hope everything works out for you.
  17. Looks like ring worm to me. Everything lucknow said is right. Take him to the vet and get a good cream for him. A pup I had years ago got it and he was fine. However some family members got it too *sigh* As for teaching stay I try to get it done as soon as possible with my dogs, its a really helpful command. Teaching him stay while having his dinner should work really well, its what i have always done with my dogs. You might need him on a leash in the begining or have someone else around to help. Put him in a sit and then give the stay command, if he tries to move forward put him back and give the command again, dont give him anything until he has done what you ask, wait about 3 secounds at first and then give him his dinner. It has been the most effective way of training stay in the begining for me, it seems to get the idea in their heads. One of the trainers on here will be able to give you better advice, but I hope this helps.
  18. I am not a breeder Im not entierly sure but this sounds really odd to me. When I got my boy his sisters where the same price. Same goes for a number of people I know who have males and females.
  19. my lab had that issue as a pup, he went threw a huge amount of bones and eventually they both fell out.
  20. this is a funny read. My Lab boy is well over three and will only lift his leg if he feels the need to mark something. Otherwise he squats. My Sammie pup is yet to show any signs of leg lifting.
  21. Most definatly! Good luck with everything,
  22. 7 in the morning your lucky! I have only recently got Mistral to sleep in till 9 and he is over four months old and still goes out for the toilet at 6 when my OH leaves for work. While Mist is crated he will cry if he needs the toilet, any other time he will just wander around looking lost and i know its time for the toilet. Be thankful shes letting you know!
  23. My Lab vomits everywhere after being at the beach, we have to wait a good extra hour before we put him in the car.
