  1. Yes do!! this was last years lily flowering. It's not the same one as the first pics. Water lilys first day by kirislin, on Flickr and this one's got rainbow nardoo, milfoil and azolla fern on it. IMG_4997dpp by kirislin, on Flickr this one's a creamy white, this is from last year, but it's currently flowering now too Water Lily by kirislin, on Flickr
  2. Here's 2 mini ones that are just by the dog door, on my little deck, more like a porch. I think the black stalked leaf one is some kind of taro plant, not sure but I love it. The little blue one rescued, it was out on the nature strip for hard rubbish!!! I've got another water lily and some milfoil in that one. 5F6A3817dppt by kirislin, on Flickr and of course, the dogs are never thirsty. :D 5F6A3816dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  3. Is watergardens!! Dogs got me into them though. It started when I bought Tag a clam shell because he loves water. Then I noticed frogs had laid eggs in it which started me buying plants for the tadpole habitat which led to me buying some fish to keep the wrigglers down, which led me to buying more and more and more of those lovely ceramic bowls to put aquatic plants in. Here is just one of them. My water lilies are early this year :) 5F6A3810dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3813dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  4. I have a few whippet books that I treasure. I got Mary Lowe to sign my copy of The English Whippet when she came out here. She also paid me a huge compliment when she told me my plaited show slips were exquisite, and bought several collars and a show slip from me. Sorry, couldn't help slipping that brag in. I've got a signed copy of Bo Bengtsons The Whippet that I bought off him direct. My only disappointment there is although he charged alot to post it out, he didn't bother to pack it carefully and the corners got crushed. I've got 2 copies of The Popular Whippet by C H Douglas Todd, one I bought from a junk shop and the other was given to me. The Whippet by J P Moran-Healy. I think this might be out of print now. Another incredibly lucky find was Whippets: Rearing and Racing by Pauline Wilson. I think this is a pretty rare book, but full of good information. I bought it for 5c from the Lilydale Library, I also got the Complete Lurcher by D Brian Plummer at the same price. What bargains, I was suprised such books would have even been held at the library, they looked like they'd been there a long time, obviously not borrowed enough, but I almost never go there so for me to happen to get them was a real lucky find.
  5. Yep, this is something I do, I even let sh!t lips Tag lick them. It's called the lick cycle here and it makes washing dishes easier because all the solids are already removed. I think I wash them thoroughly enough to get rid of the potential worm eggs, germs etc. Sometimes I joke and tell them they've done such a good job I can put the dishes straight back in the cupboard. Sometimes I wonder if I might have actually done that on occasion by mistake  Pots and pans get licked out too, Puck cannot relax if he knows there's a pot or pan on the stove that hasn't been licked. He's constantly on edge and as soon as I stand up he runs to the kitchen and points at the stove with his nose, as if to say dont forget that frypan still has to be licked.
  6. that's horrible, I am so sorry, I hope you find him. Amazing that Lilli had the sense to go to the farmer and ask for help and that he was kind enough to take her to the vet. I could imagine there's still be people out there who wouldn't give a damn about her.
  7. I saw this on another forum and just had to share it here.
  8. I thought this photo was appropriate for this thread.
  9. I just have to pick up the hose and you would never know my two were failed racers the way they take off. Maybe they would have done better if they were being chased with a hose, instead of them chasing the lure. Tag used to like the hose when he was younger but I cant get him interested in it now. He loves water though and flops down in the clam shell, which incidentally, was originally bought just for him but became a tadpole pond and is now full of water plants and little fish (to keep the wrigglers down). He still gets in there when he's hot and then leaps out, leaving traumatised fish and tadpoles. I call him my Whippapotamus. Mum, there's tadpoles in my pool by kirislin, on Flickr Whippapotamus by kirislin, on Flickr he likes to rest his chin on the edge Whippapotamus by kirislin, on Flickr
  10. Crikey! My big dog gives daddy a 'kiss' on command, when he's in the mood. I was trying to be sensitive because some people are completely grossed out by any kind of licking. btw I think my Lab might be a compulsive licker. I have just realised that she licks way more than any other dog I have ever owned. Dogs don't have hands so they use their mouth. Huh? people dont lick with their hands
  11. very descriptive and funny, I could just imagine it.
  12. I'm jealous FM, I wish mine would play with the sprinkler, although I'd never be able to capture the funny expressions you get.
  13. IMG_6255dppt by kirislin, on Flickr a freezing cold day in mid Winter and Tag went in for a stick. IMG_1236dpptc by kirislin, on Flickr
  14. Oh you are kidding. That is so gross  How I wish I was kidding.
  15. I hate that noise too. My sister used to have this stinky old cat who used to insist on sleeping on my bed when I'd go to visit, he would slurp and snuffle all night, it drove me nuts.
  16. I try to stop my dogs from licking my face, but occasionally they still sneak one in. That is when I first realised that Tag likes to eat dog sh!t, because he shared some with me when he managed to get a tonguey in
  17. that's great, and what a good cause too.

  19. Yep, after this year RB have lost me. I'm currently arguing with them. They've now revised their base price after it rose yesterday, but it's still wrong!! Now it says it costs $24 incl GST but they're charging $26.40!!!! They are so hard to contact, I'm over them. Now to rub salt into the wound I see today Saturdaythey're advertising it as Black Friday 15% off everything. Hello, they're an Australian company, right here in Vic, but everything is geared towards the US market. I placed my order on Friday Australian time so dont get the discount. bye bye redbubble
  20. Ah, cool :) I know I got a discount for being a business owner and a further discount for being an AIPP member. I love it how they look after the pros and their customer service is awesome :) that's great for you but it wont suit me. thanks anyway.
  21. I'll be interested to know the cost and quality compared to redbubble. I'm so sick of redbubble. Yesterday morning the price to buy my own work calendar was $22 but it had gone up 20% by the afternoon, although when I looked at their pricing scale it was still listed as $22. I wrote to them about it and got some twit calling himself Jonathon who has piss farted me about asking for screen shots. That was yesterday and I haven't heard back since. Also, for the last 2 years they have underpaid me and I only got what I was actually owed, which wasn't very much by the way, after much too-ing and fro-ing. I've really had enough of them. Once I get paid I'm closing my account with them.
  22. I've been using redbubble for 4 years now and last year they put the postage up alot and not many people bought calendars. I decided this year to get around it by putting in a bulk order so the cost of postage could be spread out. This morning if I'd put the order in it would have been $26 per calendar, but it's gone up by $5.20 in a couple of hours!!!! I'd like to boycott them if anyone knows of a good quality calendar maker who doesn't charge ridiculous amounts please let me know.
  23. I didn't know this part. I wonder how it came into existence.
  24. You're certainly right there but for some reason, my mind read your words as FART out loud
  25. How on Earth you manage to capture these crazy moments I'll never know.
