  1. I hope they see that one of the child jumping on the patient anxious rottweiler that's on facebook.
  2. OMG, he's pulled down a woolly mammoth!!
  3. It would be really good if they could know it's not the way to treat their dog, it's a tragedy waiting to happen. I hope they see the facebook page devoted to their stupid dangerous behaviour, for the child and the dogs sake.
  4. I got the impression it was a visiting child, by the way he told them the dogs name and then the child waved goodbye. When we were kids we had a Peke and my brother used to play rough with her. Every now and then Pixie would snap and I remember him going to my mother crying saying "Pixie bit me" Mum said "good, it serves you right" Pixie was a sweet tolerant little dog, luckily she didn't do any damage to him and I think he learnt after that to not be cruel or rough with her. My parents wouldn't have won any parenting awards if such things existed though.
  5. I remember a few years ago on another forum a woman posted a video of her older dog and her new dog. She was encouraging the older dog to be jealous although she didn't realise it and couldn't understand even when it was pointed out to her. Sadly, but predictably, she got rid of the original dog soon after because "she'd tried everything" and they just didn't get along.
  6. What an amazingly tolerant dog she was. Poor thing. I was actually feeling anxious that the video was going to show her finally swinging her head around and snapping. I hope the owners of the dog are aware the video is being shown as how not to treat your dog and that they might learn from it.
  7. When you tiptoe into the chicken coop for a lovely feed of fresh chicken poo, only to find horrible human has cleaned it out already.
  8. Yes I've been getting people asking if he is a husky x shep. I had the new guy at work actually ask if he was a tamaskan. I got so excited someone knew what a tam was :p That's impressive, he must be a doggy person too!
  9. That would work very well if you see the people in person, like on your walks, good idea. I do still love the quality and look of redbubble calendars but for a person to just buy a single one with postage its somewhere around $44.
  10. I have held off buying one for that very reason. They look good but only if you're in paved, concreted, bitumend civilisation. I'm mostly in the country where we still have grass and pollen and dirt and water.
  11. They're just beautiful! Such chubby bubbies. I love the shot of the puppy looking straight at the camera with its little tongue poking out. Now you have the hard part of screening owners and finding the perfect homes for them. Good luck with it.
  12. You are a very decent person. I hope she doesn't hit you for any costs because I dont think you are responsible. I hope the poor puss is going to be OK.
  13. Hmmmm I would feel terrible too, but with the risk that she might retaliate and poison your dogs, I might be tempted to say nothing also. Poor cat, I hope it's found soon and gets veterinary attention if it needs it. Hopefully, it is not badly hurt and will just think to itself, I wont be going back into that yard!
  14. That's a shock to me. I've seen them at shows although I haven't been to one for quite a few years now. Considering they're used so much for cross breeding it's a shock to see they're probably actually considered a rare breed now. Although personally they hold no appeal to me to own one, I find it very sad that they are a dwindling breed.
  15. wonderful photos Huga! I love the one of Dad, kids and dog in the water.
  16. My blue whippets get bothered by them more than the other coloured whippets
  17. Maybe it's only the Victorian ones
  18. March flies dont like the colours red, yellow or orange. They are attracted to dark colours and also especially like blue. I know you said you dont want to cover them but perhaps a light jacket or tshirt in one of the colours they dont like, or perhaps the bedding they lay on outside could be red or yellow, maybe even just a bright red collar would deter them.
  19. I have a Black Rapid but it's permanently attached to my 70-200 lens, not my camera. I just have the strap that came with the camera but I've put one of those fleecy things that velcro on seat belts on it so it doesn't hurt my neck.
  20. Have I missed something here? thankyou teekay, tlc and CM. I'm loving everyones photos too. There's something special about backlit photos isn't there.
  21. How I wish they'd be legally obliged to post it over at this price  in case it's changed by the time you click on the link, it currently says $ 0 http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Canon-EF-24-70mm-f4L-IS-USM-Lens.aspx
  22. Ah ha! Yep, that's what they are. I've just been going round squeezing the leaves together to squash them. Today seems to be the day for freaky flies, and the cherry tree is where they all hang out, I hope it's cause they're eating the creepy little slug. I just went out and there was another wierd fly on the tree, this one looks like it's impersonating a wasp but I dont think it's a wasp. 5F6A3977dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3975dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3974dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  23. I noticed my new cherry tree is looking rather scruffy so I went to take a closer look today and noticed lots of tiny caterpillars on it, but then I noticed these 2 very strange looking flies. I have a suspicion they're both of the tachinid family. I dont know alot about flies but a few years ago I photographed a freaky looking fly and was told it was a tachinid fly, there's something similar about these two even though they are both very different to each other. I might post the pics onto "what's that bug" again to find out. Here's the first one, with pretty green eyes. 5F6A3958dppt by kirislin, on Flickr and a nice stripey bottom 5F6A3946dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3944dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Now, how scary looking is this one though!!! It was big, and very black, and very spiky! 5F6A3960dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3955dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3953dpptc by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A3948dppt by kirislin, on Flickr and here's the one from a few years ago. a bristle fly Bristle Fly by kirislin, on Flickr Bristle Fly by kirislin, on Flickr Bristle Fly by kirislin, on Flickr
  24. Hmmmm probably on that basis redbubble are still reasonably competetive then. For me postage is the big killer with redbubble, I think the solution is for people to get together and combine their orders if buying from rb.
