My First Ever Visit To Centennial Park...
Kirislin replied to tdierikx's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
those water birds look like a raucous lot. -
I attach the strap to that same lens and that's where it stays. I've never fancied having the lens hanging off my camera. I put the strap across my shoulders so it cannot fall off. I love that I can just sling it there to carry it that way.

He either looks like a hackney or a horse with stringhalt in that prancing photo.

Snakes are just a fact of life when you live in the country, just like bushfires.

It might have been desparate for water, suffering from the heat.

I think it was on her property.

Can you leave some water at the base of the tree for the koala, or somewhere outside your property for it. I've filled my bird bath to make sure there's water for birds if they want it.

Any Good References On Dog Body Language?
Kirislin replied to ann21's topic in General Dog Discussion
speaking of dog body language I'd be interested to hear others opinions on this photograph. I assume it's a file photo of a so called savage dog. It looks to me though that the dog is either smiling, or has been taught to "snarl" on command. It looks like it's waiting for a treat or reward to me. A few others agreed with me, what do you think? http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/boy-in-hospital-after-dog-attack/1688995/ -
Newborn Pups- How To Tell If They Are Too Hot?
Kirislin replied to SLF's topic in Breeders Community
Put some plastic water bottles in the freezer, you'll need a few for today so as one melts you can replace it. Wrap them in a thick towel so they dont get freezer burn and place them in the box. If the pups are hot they will move towards the cool towel. -
On second look, yes I agree. He looks like he's watching his trainer to be marked and rewarded. Hard to tell in a photo but eyes look soft, ears relaxed, doesn't look poised to spring and it doesn't look like a full on snarl. Interesting. Asal, there's a staffy (AmStaff I assume) CHaracter in Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 who has that same problem, he smiles when he's happy and people freak out and think he's snarling. Works out well for him in the end though  Yep, that's just how he looks to me.

I seem to recall from the book I borrowed from the library if there's no action 2 hours after the water breaks you need a vet! I hope my memory has failed me, that was 10years ago I read the book. You need to be writing down what is going on, and what the time was, so you can tell the vet if you need one. I'm hoping all is going well for her.

they're little chubbas, they certainly look as if they're getting enough milk :) very cute puppies! I'd say, keep burping him.

Puppy Is Finally Here Yay - You Tube Link Attached

that's a very cute photo after the way you described his grand entrance. He's just kiss kiss kiss with everyone by the looks of things. -
stupid to put that photo up, but to me that dog doesn't look really scary, I half wonder if it's not really smiling. Does anyone else think it looks like that? Or else it might have been taught to snarl on command. It looks as if it's waiting for a treat.

Life Can Be A Real Bitch Sometimes....
Kirislin replied to persephone's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
buy her a clam shell. My Tag used to do that in the water bucket too, that's when I realised he was a water baby. -
 so cute.

I'm always telling my Gussy Cat that, if she didn't run, the dogs wouldn't chase. She is getting better and regularly just stays lying in the driveway while we all pass by on our walks. Your photos, as always, are so interesting and captivating, Kirislin. Although I don't have one DIY bone in my body and can hardly hammer a nail without breaking something , I subscribe to a magazine called Earth Garden. They have a regular feature about chooks called "Living in Fowl Times". I love it because, as CrazyCresties says, they are such characters. PS: I was very taken with the jugs on the table just inside. :) hahahaha you're observant. Yes, one is a pretty china jug that I use as a vase and the other is an old golden circle pineapple juice tin that I use as a dipper for horse feed. I call my mare up morning and night to give her some meds for her eye. The tin just got plonked there, I noticed it after I'd taken the photo but hoped people wouldn't look too closely

these are such amazing photos!

If she's not making enough milk can you supplement them with the bottle as well?

I'm so happy I was able to help. I remember how distressed and helpless I felt watching him writhing and crying in pain at the time. I took him to the vet and she gave me colic medicine for him, but never suggested the simplest and most obvious thing to do. I only found out by accident.
