I took the girls and their mum to see the rest of the IG family at Marcus' house. His soil is as fine as talc and Inky had great fun digging in it. She would dig and then watch as the fine powdery dirt flowed back into the hole. She's inherited her mothers 2 pawed shove I see too. Video by kirislin, on Flickr

ah, that's interesting, so I couldn't use it anyway without a mobile phone. thanks.

I wonder if Eulactol heel balm (for people) would work

so I'm an oldie and I dont particularly want to create yet another account or page I have to visit but everyone seems to have an instagram account for their photos. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons about it please? Can people steal your photos to use them commercially from there? Not that anyone would want mine but just wondering. I'm assuming it's something created for people with mobile phones to quickly get their photos on display. Since I dont have a mobile phone is there any point to having an instagram account? I dont know if this is a really dumb question or not.

I'm surprised people brought their dogs along. Were they interested in the turtles?

Yes, I should have said, safe travels and long life little turtlets. Live long and prosper!

Lovely photos. I was lucky enough to help out years ago when the turtles came ashore to lay their eggs. We took measurements etc. I love the photo of that beautiful speckled dog too! What is it?

this is similar to how I taught all my whippets. I'm getting slack, I haven't done it with these puppies.

What Temp Do You Rug Your Dog Up?
Kirislin replied to Two Best Dogs!'s topic in General Dog Discussion
I dont rug my dogs very often at all, except for Feather, the oldest whippet, and she pretty much tells me when she wants her coat on, or off. If I was going out with them somewhere where they might be standing around getting cold I'd rug them, but it doesn't happen that often that they need them. Mine are all short coated dogs who feel the cold. At home they can get under a blanket. -
I've already talked to Marcus 3 times today and he's doing fine. Got taken to an outdoor cafe for coffee so is getting exposed to new things. I'm sure he's fine and the girls had a great day playing alot without being body slammed but him. I think I'd better start lead training them too. I haven't even put a collar on them as yet. That's the next job. Well first I have to make the collars.

yes, she was the trail blazer. She still is. She is like the little kid who doesn't want to go to bed when all the others are fast asleep. She always stays up longer than the other two did.

thanks Perse. I'm happy to say they've perked up now and have started playing together. It was just that I'd never seen them just lay there before like that first thing in the morning. I've opened the gate to let them into the big yard and they're happily running around now, so all is well. I think the boy will be missing them even more, he's got more of an adjustment, but that is what all puppies go through when they leave the nest. He just left a bit sooner than we'd planned. We also heard that the father, who is now a beautiful natured adult was also sent away at 8 weeks for the very same reason!! So hopefully he will grow up to be as lovely as his dad, he's certainly showing the same traits now.

I'm hoping the girls are OK. They are very subdued this morning. I'm thinking Mr Fat was the life of the party and they must have relied on him for their confidence perhaps. but they didn't come out of bed when I let Neko out this morning and it was very easy for me to clean and mop the floor this morning. Usually I'm trying to dodge little paws that have walked through puddles of weeze to get to the cleaning tools, but today they both just lay in bed, that has NEVER happened before. I have picked them up individually and cuddled them, and they seem OK, just really quiet. I hope they're not sick, I'm thinking maybe heartsick. My poor babies, I feel like going and bringing him back, but he'll just turn into an obnoxious bully boy, oh wait, he already was that. sigh.

I'm down to 2 puppies! waaaah! It wasn't planned but Spyder, who I still think of as Mr Fat has had to go to reform school, aka with Marcus and Grandma Widget and family. He's getting too big for his boots here and Neko is too gentle to discipline him, she's actually intimidated by him. Today he body slammed Crickett 3 times into hard things and I feared he might do her an injury although she never whimpered, but he's big and rough and a bit too confident, he has even growled at me! I'm not used to such bossy puppies. Marcus thinks nanna Widget will be alot harder on him and discipline him if he gets too cocky. I hope so. He wont even be home yet and already I want to ring and find out how he is.

Especially Inky who is particularly sparse in the coat, so is her father Bipsy.

gorgeous photos. Obviously Puddenhead is enjoying his first interaction with these strange new creatures.

I suggested Thumper and Marcus initially liked it but then decided we might be pre-empting his hugeness. He still holds some hope that he will slow down and not end up enormous. I dont know how big he will get but I feel he will be over sized. That said, most IGs are oversized since the standard says they shouldn't weigh more than 4.5kgs which is about what Neko weighs. I've seen some really big bitches in the ring that are well on their way to getting their championship, and based on comparing them to Neko they would have to be close to 6kgs, so judges dont seem to be familiar with the standard. Funnily enough Bipsy who is a beautiful size, not as big as most males in Australia but would still weigh more than 4.5kgs was not awarded a certificate because a judge deemed him too small! Dopey judge. Anyway, back to little big man, I'm trying not to care what he gets named because I dont want to get too attached.

Uh! news flash! just got an email from Marcus, he's changed his mind, scratch Thumper, it's now Spyder. I've just been out there teaching him his name. Oh well, he'll be happy, it means more cheese

I forgot to add, the big boy who's gone by names, Obvious, Mr Fat, Lazlo now has a pet name. Meet Thumper! 5F6A5803dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
