  1. Have a look at this, I've bookmarked this page and watched it heaps. http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?ac...;articleID=3167
  2. I think Troy needs to add a heart melting emoticon cause that's what I felt when I saw his dear little face with his collar and oxygen tube.
  3. I think the term is cautiously optomistic It's sounding pretty good. Get well soon Chase.
  4. I think whippets (and greyhounds) have the widest colour range of any breed, so many different shades of fawn, and all those shades can come with brindle, plus the blacks and blues. But they dont have true tan points, ie black and tan or red and tan.
  5. now that we need a photo of. Just make sure you dont turn them all into porkie pie doggies.
  6. I dont recall seeing that photo, it's very sharp and what a massive tongue he has, it's a wonder he hasn't tripped over it. Rubiton, there's so much I've never used on my camera and I suspect I never will use it to its full capability. I've never used P mode. I think when you get to know it a bit more you will love it. I think it's the perfect camera for a professional like you, who photographs sports. I hope you love it anyway. I love it but it kinda scares me.
  7. Yep, I know how to change the custom controls, I just didn't know what to change it to. I've since found out it's metering and AF start.
  8. I never had a 40D, I went from the 400D to the 7D. I've read the manual lots but much of it I just dont understand anyway. The controls and options are quite daunting for me. The reason I wanted it was for fast AF to capture those speedy whippets, otherwise I would have been perfectly happy with my 400D. thankfully I got an answer to my question over on POTN because I couldn't find it anywhere in the manual.
  9. He is like a pointer isn't he, or maybe a working dog, kelpie or border collie giving "eye" I am used a Canon 7D and the 70-200 lens for those shots.
  10. It's OK, I finally got the info off POTN. :D
  11. I've asked on POTN but their only response is RTFM which stands for read the f@#$%ing manual, and I have but I cant find what I need. My camera is supposed to focus when you half press the shutter button, but mine has never done that, it focusses when I press the AF-ON button. I am used to using it like that but I want it to also focus when I half press the shutter button. I cannot work out how to do it. Does anyone know the controls and can help me please.
  12. Yes after I saw the pic on the PC i was very disappointed that I had not wiped his eyes as I dont actually even have photoshop yet, as soon as I get a copy I will have to remove it. guess what, you dont need photoshop to remove it. If you bought your camera new you should have got a CD with it. It will have Zoom Browser and Digital Photo Professionsl (DPP) on it. You can remove those little marks with DPP :D
  13. Far out, did anyone else click on what's in the bag?
  14. Here's a few I took 2 days ago, our first warm day in ages and the whips felt it. Here's Tag, this was a happy accident, the camera focussed on the foreground grass instead of Tag, but I like it anyway. and here he is cooling off. He was running along the drain dipping his head and scooping water as he went. Puck is a stalker
  15. You will have such fun with it and you'll have photos that you will just treasure in years to come. Big congrats from me.
  16. Yep, you will be able to set the language to English via the menu.
  17. a whippet I bred has a thin bony tail with hair missing, I think it's just a combintaion of a fine coat and wear/rub, it doesn't cause him any problems.
  18. Me too!!! glad you liked it. They do that almost everyday.
  19. I could believe your dog might tire a whippet out, but to out run it, I doubt it very much. I've seen mine out run plenty of dogs but some dogs have boundless energy and when the whips have had enough the others are still bouncing.
  20. Finger crossed for Chase. My whippet Kibah vomited under anaesthetic and got it into her lungs. She was very sick at the time with other stuff, but I just wanted you to know she recovered fully. Just letting you know of a good outcome.
  21. You have a labrador that can outrun whippets????? Really???? I'd like to see that. Here's a vid of my boys having a run at the park. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32012294@N02/4883720558/
  22. Oh that's not good, I am hoping for some good news this morning, thinking of you both. Hang on Chase.
  23. Sure, we'll let her get a good head start and then set the whippets off after her. They'll love the change from the fox tail
  24. She's so lovely, well they all are and your photos are brilliant. She's looking leggy and I can still see a bit of knuckle too. She's got more growing to do hasn't she. You might not want to hear that though.
