  1. oh poop! sorry guys. see if this works. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=930034
  2. wow, well done, congratulations
  3. I'm not sure why you are so hostile towards me. I dont want you to fail. I dont want the dog to be shot and killed. I asked a question earlier on, and initially was told it had mushrooms to eat so made a suggestion to offer food regularly. That's all, it wasn't an attack on you. People offer suggestions all the time. I dont claim to be an expert, I was just trying to suggest a way of helping. Then Koe told of his/her experience as a dog catcher over 10 years. I thought it sounded like a good idea.
  4. I enjoyed it too, never thought much of Martin Clunes before but I like him now. One thing I noticed is that I'm fairly certain the dingoes didn't all have white tips on their tails. I thought this was a way the authorities decided if it was in fact a dingo. I couldn't see any white on the Fraser Island dingoes and they're supposedly the most pure. So is a dingo a dingo if it doesn't have a white tip on its tail?
  5. What a great idea Koe. That sounds like an excellent method
  6. even cheaper here http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/...sp?idProduct=30
  7. Ooh better check local guides. In Victoria it's from 6.30-7.30
  8. I dont think Cockatoo would have the deadly paralysis ticks but it might have little bush ticks. I am not even certain about that, but I used to work at a groomers in the Yarra Valley and very occasionally we would pull a tick of a dog. It didn't happen much and I dont think they were considered dangerous. In all the time I helped out there I think I only found maybe 3 or 4 ticks so it's not common.
  9. Love the photos and commentary, very apt. Twice now Tag has surprised me by actually getting in to the bath with me. I couldn't believe he would really do it, so I just watched and let him do as he pleased. He carefully climbed in, sat down at my feet and relaxed for a few minuets, then leapt out and ran all around the house like an idiot. I didn't actually see him do that cause I stayed in the bath but I heard him. I was silly enough to let him do it a 2nd time cause I thought after the first he'd decide not to, but no he repeated it all again, and so did I.
  10. good luck, if you catch him, I hope he settles quickly, he doesn't panic and doesn't hurt himself or anyone else. All the best with it. Hopefully he will be safe and warm tonight and quickly remember he's a tame doggy.
  11. Any one have an idea of what people charge to visit your house twice daily to care for your animals while you're on holidays? Several dogs, cat and birds?
  12. From the description it sounds like it was in pretty poor condition.
  13. this is zephyr but the other 2 pics are definitely a greyhound with a lab. The bloke owned them both. I remember it well. The greyhounds stripe doesn't go up his face as far as Zeppys. I promise you, it's not your dog. I think the pic of Zephyr is the best one.
  14. That's no greyhound. I think that is my Zephyr. It's definitely a greyhound that is running with the lab. Your Zephyr is the fabulous boy in the lead in the first pic though, he runs much better than the grey did, now that we have the drag lure for him. The grey is actually wearing the green GAP collar.
  15. I think our drag lure goes to a max of about 250 mts but because they like to run their dogs many times we usually only pull it out between 100-150 mts although we will make it longer if people want.
  16. all the above and switch to standard.
  17. Yep, unless it's the owners dogs and he wants to run them together. For example we had a greyhound and a labrador running together, well, not exactly together but they were on the track at the same time
  18. I hope Yogi is getting better and no infection is setting in.
  19. I was only asking a question, it took a while to get answered, initially I got the impression that as some mushrooms had been dumped there, there was no need to give him food. I really dont think I've comitted a crime by asking a simple question. Once again, I wish you all good luck in catching him.
  20. I was making a suggestion. do what you like. good luck with it.
  21. I'm not saying it will instantly come bounding up to you for a feed. But if you regularly leave food it might get over its fear. Do you know if it ate the food you left?
  22. I think if everytime it saw someone wandering around there trying to get near it, it got a feed, it might start looking forward to seeing them. I get the impression quite a few people have been out there looking for it, do any of them regularly take dog food? Otherwise why would a frightened distrustful dog let any of you near it? I get the impression you are thinking about trapping it in a cage, or by its leg, drugging it, but why not try befriending it with food. I dont know if that has actually been tried as yet. I see no mention of any of you taking food to the dog.
  23. My dogs eat most things but I cant see even them being remotely interested in raw mushrooms. I am surprised no one has been taking actual dog food with them when they go looking for this boy. You know where he sleeps. Can I suggest you leave a big pile of dry food there and perhaps a bucket with clean water?
