You could buy a dslr and a 50mm lens and never take it out of auto, then it's like a point and shoot but if the urge takes you, you can alot more with it.

Ok. Sweet. I should have no excuses for that one. Maaaaybe you will bring your 70-200 for a fellow doler to play with.. I always bring it, I'd rather it get used. Last time my brand new camera didn't even get out of the car! That was the main reason I bought that lens and camera and it sat there unused, so yeah sure, you can borrow it. I might have to search your car before you leave though.

Have you tried googling her name?

did that little tiny spider really catch that big ugly fly? I never thought I'd say this but the spider is quite pretty, and cute. shudder, for a spider.
-
yeah, probably the kit lenses. certainly the 55-250.

Next one after Sept 18th is November 20th. To be confirmed closer to the date.

There's so many DOLers buying cameras and it's hard to keep up. So we're not forever asking what have you got, how about we have a list. Just cut and paste from the previous so everyones is kept together. Kirislin Canon 7D, 50m 1.4, 100mm macro, 70-200.

not good enough, tell him he's waited this long, 60 bloody years, he can wait another week.
-
Hmmmmm decisions decisions. What do you want to photograph. If it's for pics like the one in your siggy the 50mm would be great. It's good for action shots too but they cant be too far away. What are the kit lenses they're offering. Dont worry about being an amateur, you can start on Auto and when you get more confident the camera will be able to take you further.

Chester is at 53 seconds

Next Whippet Fun Day Healesville Greyhound Track. for more info, email us at y v w r c at ( use @) hotmail dot (use .) com and leave out all the spaces. Saturday 18th September, 11am start, is our next whippet fun day at the Healesville Greyhound Track. Our last day was an amazing success in the most appalling weather. The track was so boggy and wet we had to run beside it, but even so the whippets took it all in their stride. The spectacular photos Pete took have had well over 2000 views, the most ever for any of our days. There's a chance it will be the same on the 18th as amazingly, as I write, the greyhounds have not raced on the track since late May. They were supposed to go back July 4th! So, at this stage I am reminding you that we are set for Saturday September 18th but I will confirm this the night before or the actual morning of the 18th because as you know, sometimes we've had the track cancel on very short notice and we've had to make other arrangements. We are in desperate need of more help, we need a secretary and a treasurer urgently and more helpers, as we will only have 5 on Saturday and to be honest, I am wondering how we will manage. This seems to be a standard problem with many clubs. No one wants to step up and help. So I ask you all to consider giving us a hand and getting involved. Please! Other than that the formula will be the same, fun runs $5 per whippet/dog for members, $10 per whippet/dog for non members for as many runs as your dog wants. Muzzles are compulsory for all dogs running and are for sale or hire on the day. Barbeque and soft drinks for sale, free tea and coffee, and a raffle. All dogs must be leashed unless actually racing. I noticed a couple running free last meeting. Please be responsible and control your dog. When you arrive have your dog already leashed in your car so they dont leap out and run willy nilly. Because this is our first Saturday it would be great if you could send an email if you plan to come, to give me an idea of numbers, and how many snags to buy. We hope to see you all. Linda

fattima, they're great! When this challenge was first announced I thought it sounded doable, but it's been harder than I expected, plus with this freezing cold weather I haven't been out much.
-
which one did you end up using. I know the feeling, I am a real computer dummy and was even scared downloading the disc when I bought the camera! Thankfully it's user friendly and did it all without any input from me. Phew. Now do you realise you can tweak the photos alot more since they're in RAW, things like white balance, contrast, sharpness, tone, noise reduction etc.
-
Yep, I said the same in the other thread only I just use the free Canon program DPP
-
Have you got a Canon? If so the only way I know to do it is to use DPP which is on the disc you buy with Canon. You convert and save using DPP
