  1. I'm putting it here cause this is where she is alot. Haven't seen her around for a while, tried to PM her but she's disabled her PM. I am hoping she is OK, I know she has some health issues. Anyone know? you can PM me if you like.
  2. A few months ago I noticed a neighbours dogs on my property. They were on my bottom boundary, just across from their own fence playing around my dam and just generally fossicking around and having fun. A few days after that I saw them again and then another few days after that I saw one of them chasing the kangaroos on my paddock. That's when I went down and tried to speak to the neighbours. I've never spoken to them before, I dont even know their names. A young bloke came out and I told him what happened. the conversation was a friendly one and he said they'd fix the fence. I hadn't noticed the dogs on my place since then, until yesterday. Just the one dog but it came up to my house boundary fence and started barking at me in a threatening manner, as if it thought I was trespassing. I got my stock whip and cracked it a few times and the dog took off. Today I went down there and knocked on the door. Although there were 2 cars there no one answered. I left a note asking them to ring me but not saying why. No one has called yet. What do the wise DOLers suggest I do next? Since I dont feel like driving down there, (too far too dark and too cold to walk) I thought I might write them a note telling them of the problem and asking them to stop their dogs roaming on to my property. Should I be telling them I will report the dogs to the council, or still be giving them another chance? I dont want to make enemies but I dont want the dogs coming here.
  3. wow, that is a great camera! You will love it! congratulations and welcome to the Canon club. What lenses did you get.
  4. Love the puppies and bubbles Evolving. My useless turds of whippets weren't interested in the bubble machine.
  5. aah yes I would imagine mine would eat rosehips given the chance, since they've eaten the actual roses! and besides, did you know roses are distantly related to apples?
  6. rocket lemon wild mustard clivers and lots of other stuff I dont have photos of yet, such as comfrey, beetroot, lettuce, bok choy, tomatos, avocados (yes I know they not good for dogs but you tell them that), the list goes on and on..............
  7. Sweet potato, raw or cooked, raw in this case fresh or tinned pinneapple Cabbage, raw or cooked. watermelon, including peel unripe nectarines, netting is no protection bananas apples
  8. My two LOVE pineapple!! Lovely photos Are you a Canon user Kirislin? mine normally enjoy it too but that pineapple wasn't very sweet, which is why it got chucked in the first place. Yep I've got a Canon, can you tell?
  9. I hope the poor little one survived the night, can you let us know Bridie. Yes it would be good if you could put the video up here.
  10. Yep wonderful pics, you should post some in the photography section.
  11. Panting might be a sign of pain, are you sure there's not more puppies in there? Also, is the tonsillitis infectious, could it make her babies sick. I remember hearing about a woman who kissed a newborn baby when she had a cold sore and the baby died from it.
  12. Huga, all your photos have a creamy feel/look to them, I cant quite describe it, creamy is the closest word I can find. I love them though.
  13. It's hard, you want to maintain a relationship with her and I am sure you want her to feel like she's sold the puppy to someone who will cherish it for its lifetime, and she probably has! She just doesn't do think like you. I also agree with you crate training, I'd never had one until I got Penny whippet but now I have 3, and although they haven't been used in ages, I always have them on hand in case of injury or illness where a dog has to be confined. If they're already used to one they wont stress. The only thing I've been told about chicken, and I dont know if it's right or not, is to not feed raw chicken to very young pups because of the bacteria in it. I have friends (experienced breeders) who recommend waiting until the pup is at least 3 months old. I hope you can manage to deflect her strong opinions but still keep her as an ally in case you ever really need her. Good luck
  14. awww Happy Birthday handsome boy, supermodel. How on Earth did you get them to leave those bones for long enough to take that photo. I dont think that would happen here.
  15. Love the second pic too, I like the way she is squinting at you, it's cute.
  16. What a great photo. gee the one on the top looks so lifelike it could almost be real
  17. wow!!!!!! congratulations, have fun, post here often. hahahahaha
  18. Yep, it's at the Healesville greyhound track.
  19. Tag had the pineapple, I dont think he really liked it but if he left it, Puck would get it. Here he gives the death stare. Back off brother, it's mine! I'm going to pretend I am enjoying it too. mmmm noice..... but patience and stealth pay off in the end and Puck manages to steal it. He will pretend to enjoy it as long as his brother looks on. Has he gone yet? can I leave it now?
  20. I dont even know what it is. I am assuming something to do with photography since you've put it here.
  21. It's really good to see the befores and afters. Do you ever get really terrible matted flea ridden dogs that come in and their owners have no idea and just think they need a bath and tidy up?
