Take it easy Jed, take all the time you need to heal. I hope you felt that extra surge of positive emotion from us all yesterday. -

I was a bad whippet mum, it was Feathers 8th birthday yesterday and I worked all day and forgot about it!! So we went for a walk today and I took my camera so we could mark the momentus occasion. First we saw some pretty toadstools which thankfully Feather allowed to stay Then some very cheeky and disrespectul galahs had to be evicted from the oval because they didn't have Feathers permission to be there. Gorn! be off you pests! and then some foolish lad left a jumper behind, again, without written permission from Feather, when will they learn? So like hoons cars that are crushed, it had to be trashed. so all in all she was satisfied that she put everything right again and the day is not over yet.

Fantastic news!! I hope it helps her to know we are all thinking of her and wishing her well. -
OK, so we've seen a pic of the lens, now how about some pics FROM the lens.
-
Hope you win. I saw it on Redbubble, it came up on my Image feed, not sure how that works, whether it's because you're on my watchlist or does it come up on everyones image feed.

Lovely picture story, it really does portray the happy interactions that go on. I love the one where Cooper has to take drastic action and jettison the ball because it was slowing him down, and the ones of Cooper and Tully pelting across the field. Sparky looks like a terrific little dog.

all of the above and maybe a bit of JRT?

Elbie is the cutest little thing and he's mastered the range of heart melting looks with those gorgeous eyes of his perfectly.

Good to hear of some improvement. Is Jed conscious yet? -
Yep, if you cant have the real thing how about one of these. http://www.canonmugs.com/?gclid=CO6ZvYyW5KECFQHBbwod7EvYJQ Just like the lenses though, ridiculously expensive.
-
hey I really like them Dust angel. Did you buy a horse at the sales???????? Hmmmmmm? Here's some of mine from yesterday. Puck and Oscar (Kibahs son, Feathers brother) kicking up some dust Lily: throw the ball! throw the ball! and Oscar and Puck again, separate ways

wow, congratulations. I hadn't thought about this lens much until some here started tallking about it and then I thought it would cover the range I dont have, I've got a 50 and 100 prime but the only zoom I use covers 70-200 and that lens of yours would fill the gap nicely. Have you actually started using it yet? Better post some piccies real soon. For my sake I hope you really hate it.

so from DWI if you got the lens and mack warranty it would be $517 plus postage which I am not sure of but is probably around $30-40 at a guess which would take it to $547 at least. If Teds could match that I'd go with them, they might even throw in a filter. aah hang on, Teds might charge postage too, sounds like it's online deals only not in there physical stores.
-
Nup, it's just the end cap. They do look different, the Ted's one looks like it has silver rings and the DWI looks like it has gold, plus the DWI one gives the impression that it's slightly conical almost but they are the same lens. If I was going to buy on I'd go for the DWI. stop press, I just noticed this on Teds website. If they could match DWI or come close I would go with Teds because you should be covered my Canons warranty with them. http://www.teds.com.au/www/6/1001102/displ...le/5062430.html

What model camera did you buy and did it come with kit lenses or did you buy the body and lens separately? I ended up changing my camera so instead of half pressing the shutter button to focus and then fully pressing to take the photo, I customised it so I use the * button to focus. You get used to it really quickly and it's much better IMO. Do a bit of both, play with the camera but then go back and read the manual to better understand.

It might just be the photo. Sometimes I see photos of the 50 1.4 and it looks squat and quite different from my lens in real life. If it says 50 1.4 Canon there's only one lens. There is also the 50 1.8 and the 1.2 and I think maybe the 1.0 and they would all look different. Get in quick if you're buying from DWI with our $ falling the price is going up up up! I see the camera I bought has already gone up $100 from what I paid.
-
good luck with it. Have you still got the bokeh covers from last years Canon challenge. What about doing something with them too if you're allowed more than one entry.
-
Lovely photos Annie, 14 is a great age, I bet your friend will treasure that photo.
-
Sisters are doin' it for themselves!!! You go girls!
-
Yes it's Puck, you recognised him! and yes both he and his brother Tag do the frog dog.

thinking of you Jed, I hope you are resting and healing. I check here many times per day, pretty much every time I see a new post. You must have the all time record for the most people reading and commenting on your thread, all wishing you well. I hope when you are able to read it you will get some comfort knowing how many people are just willing you to get better.
