Gooey Eyes In My Lagotto Pup!
Kirislin replied to mygirlruby's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
something safe to try, to see if it helps is cold tea. I use it on my mare when the flies irritate her eyes and it settles them down. Even if it doesn't help your girl it's worth a try, it wont harm her. -
cute video, love fat cats tail at the end. The thing I would do differently, but I must say I think I am the only person who feels this way, cause everyone else seems to just say shake or shake hands, if I was training a dog to do this I would say "how do you do" or whatever greeting you say to people when you shake their hand. You dont go up to people and say "shake hands".

Maybe contact a camera club I've no idea. Have a look on ebay, maybe it will give you a idea of what the market will pay, although I am not sure of how accurate ebay would be of that.

You are most welcome to edit it to show what you mean, I wont have a hissy fit. :D I think I have difficulty even understanding what is possible. I dont know if you mean you can just lighten the face only. If so, I didn't know that was possible. One thing I can see is that I have over sharpened it. I'd probably only just discovered what that little slider did and ramped it up full bore, which I tend to do at first. I am of the school if a little is good alot is better hahahaha even though I know that's not really the case.

Here's mine. I took out the wine barrel and looks like I've sharpened and increased the saturation a bit. That's about the extent of my editing skills. I still dont understand what unsharp mask means or how it works though.

Good on you for explaining. How did you learn this stuff, was it just experimenting, thinking I wonder what that means, I wonder what that does, or did you do a course. I followed an online tutorial for the program that comes with my camera, which is fairly basic, and even that didn't explain much, it skimmed over lots of stuff that left me wondering. About the only thing I've figured out is how to clone stuff out, I'm not even very good at that. hahaha although I did manage to get rid of an ugly wine barrel. Maybe I should put that in here as a before and after. I'll have to find it.

After going to the Digital Life expo on Sunday it makes me wonder if a photo straight out of camera would ever have a chance in a competition there. All the photos I saw had gone through alot of post processing, they looked amazing but I'd loved to have seen the befores and afters just to gain an understanding of how much they'd been processed. The link on POTN is very basic, they're just the raw conversions with a tiny bit of tweaking, nothing like what I think was done for those expo pics. Of course I might be wrong, it was just the impression I got. I dont mean to criticise the photos at the expo either. With all the editing software in the world, I still dont have the talent, skill or imagination to take photos like them, there was some truly jaw dropping photos there.

I think my gentle whippets are put off by the magnetised flap that has to be pushed, otherwise it stays firmly sealed. I've taken it off for now and put a peice of material over the opening and they are all using it now, some more confidently than others. I think we'll get there eventually.

I have the original cosy cave from the US. It has a stiffening hoop which is supposed to keep the lid up so they can get in but it wasn't really successful so I took it out, now it's just like a bean bag with a cover but I have to lift it so they can get in. My dogs actually prefer the cardboard boxes I've often mentioned to the cosy cave. I believe for a while there you could get cosy caves from save a dog scheme. Not sure if they are still selling them.

What a heartbreaking shock that must have been for you. My first thought would be the heart but I suppose the vet checked all that. I am sorry for your loss. Not knowing makes it even worse.

I bought a Pig in Mud doggy door and my whippets are having trouble understanding the concept. I am using lots of praise and treats to tempt them out and 4 of them can manage it with encouragement but Kibah just insists, she doesn't do dog doors. Even the others haven't quite got it that they can go in and out as they please, without me standing on the other side with bits of tasty cheese. I know my dogs aren't dumb, but they dont seem to have the smarts for this, they just dont seem to get it. Does it usually take long for dogs to learn.

Not really sure what I was trying to acheive here other than to hold the camera steady. Hand held with a shutter speed of 2 seconds. I like the colours and the flowing abstract movement effect. This one was while I was waiting for my friend to come home, she was half an hour late so I sat in my car waiting. This old bloke came out and wandered across the road to his car with a tinny in hand. His cute little cat followed him and kept him company while he smoked and drank.

Pet Shop Made Me Cranky Today - Grrrrrr!

The very fact that they've already escaped from a zoo is enough to tell me they shouldn't be in the hands of private people. It is way to risky. I'd like to see the whole lot confiscated. -
Your photos are always so crisp and sharp. I dont know why you call them out takes CM. You know what would be good with the train, if you photographed her from behind so she's looking at the train with her back to you, she'd look like the littlest hobo.

I'd win the oddest pairing, fat lady, skinny dogs hahahah.

Oh sorry, of course she is! I couldn't see her lippy and mascara over the camera flash.

I cannot see how they were allowed to be brought over from the west. Just because they're already feral in some part of Australia shouldn't mean they can come over east to be sold. Absolutely a disaster waiting to happen. -
I haven't read all the replies but upon reading your first post I wonder why you want a dog. You and your kids sound pretty busy, and with your other half not a willing participant, she is not even keen on dogs I dont know that it's a good idea. I dont think I would recommend you get a dog. Perhaps a cat would be more suitable as they are more aloof and not so needy of your attention.

I am amazed they are allowed to sell squirrels! Only a matter of time before they escape and become a feral pest like so many others. -
she's athletic but I dont think there's any whippet in there.

Have you also noticed his eyes are pointing in different directions.

OK will be at the canon stand at 11:00 The trains aren't that regular so 11 is good for me. I think we will still be there at 11:30 I will bring my camera with just the 50mm - like you kirisin, with only that lens I can fit a few other things in the bag - you know - a couple of credit cards May I suggest you jot down a few online prices of things you might like so you know if you're getting a bargain. Oh, and dont buy anything till I get there, I dont want to miss out on anything.
