  1. psst, Neko is an Iggy (italian greyhound) :) Don't worry, I don't know if I would necessarily be able to tell the difference just from photos either :) Its very obvious when you see them in real life as Iggies are just so incredibly petite! It's an easy mistake to make if you haven't had much contact with the breeds. Hell, I even got t-shirts made! http://www.redbubble.com/people/whippeteer/works/15918685-its-an-italian-greyhound?ref=recent-owner
  2. I've been trying to hear puppy heartbeats for days now, yesterday (day 45) is usually when you can expect to start hearing them. Last night I found 2 definite ones in exactly the same place on opposite sides so I can confidently say, there's at least 2, but I think there could be more, it's just really hard to tell. It will probably become easier as time goes on to be able to hear more if they're there.
  3. they wont be dragging them away that's for sure!
  4. must have been some pretty big old trees. There's one dog there that almost looks like a shaved poodle to me, surely not.
  5. wow, I didn't know there was a safe limit for blue algae
  6. saw this on a facebook site. Someone riding on the BNT in northern NSW I think came across this property. They said they're working dogs. I'm guessing hunting rather than herding based on the look of the white dog. I cant make out what the other dogs are.
  7. I think I've heard a very faint heart beat. They say you wont hear them until day 45 so I'm not absolutely certain, there was a lot of tummy gurgles to try to hear past too, but I heard that tiny flutter. I'm getting nervous and excited. I'm not very experienced with whelping bitches and always afraid of the "what ifs".
  8. I missed where it said the distance. I noticed the path seemed to be used by skiers at the same time. I would have thought they'd have a dedicated track for the dog racing but it didn't look like that did it.
  9. Week 6 5.9kgs 5F6A4733dpptw by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A4734dpptw by kirislin, on Flickr compare with week 5 when she weighed 5.3kg so 600gms in the space of a week, it's alot on a little dog who normally weighs about 4.5kgs 5F6A4686dpptw by kirislin, on Flickr
  10. I just cant help myself, even though I know from past experience I cannot expect to hear puppy heart beats until day 45 it hasn't stopped me from trying yesterday, last night, this morning and I'll probably continue for the days to come. Where's Mr. Rolly eyes when I need him?
  11. and this time they will here. Last time I only saw them once or twice a week.
  12. thankyou all for sharing in my excitement. Because it's not up to me, I was told to hold off for a while till we were absolutely certain she was pregnant although I've felt pretty sure for about 5 weeks now but I had to wait. It's been really REALLY hard as I'm sure you can imagine. I know from past experience I cannot expect to hear puppy heartbeat until at least 45 days, but knowing that still didn't stop me from trying this morning. I just cant help myself. All I heard was her own heartbeat and tummy gurgles.
  13. I know!! I feel the same. That's why I decided to just continue this thread and not start a new one for her. This thread has her whole life on it, and maybe even her puppies' who knows.
  14. Either Jan or Feb Roskyle Italian Greyhounds. (my Neko who I have under breeders terms) 31st Jan/1st Feb
  15. All his dreams come true! Congratulations Yep!
  16. It was a different person stacking her and she went to the front. Neko seems to prefer them standing behind her. Week 4 and 5 I just had to do it myself though. She wasn't so good in week 4 but week 5 I think she's getting the hang of it. She is due 31st Jan/1st Feb so she'll beat you.
  17. and here she is with lover boy. He had only just been released from quarantine that morning. He must be thinking to himself. Oh boy!! I just LOVE AUSTRALIA!!! 5F6A4552dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  18. I know I feel like she's still a baby too, but she was 2 in August, how time flies. I'll keep the Widget thread updated from now on, I just had to spill the beans here cause I've been sitting on this news for weeks now, not allowed to say anything and it's been very very difficult. Here's the thread where you can follow Nekos adventure in Motherhood. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/250847-widget-from-big-belly-to-babies/page__pid__6779238__st__840#entry6779238

  21. Neko and I have some news. Perhaps I will let these photos tell the story as I've been keeping a photographic record. :D It's been very difficult to keep this to myself, but finally I can let the cat out of the bag! Weight 4.8kgs 5F6A4612dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 4.9kgs 5F6A4629dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5kgs 5F6A4655dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5.1kgs 5F6A4665dpptw by kirislin, on Flickr 5.3kgs 5F6A4686dpptw by kirislin, on Flickr week 6 still to come.
