  1. I dont understand why are the Spanish so cruel to their animals? It's not just dogs that have it bad. Cattle, horses and probably lots more.
  2. what ever happened she's got a horrific injury. Police cant charge a dog. Perhaps they're thinking he goaded his dog to attack, so used it as a weapon.
  3. what an odd turn of events. I didn't read the article though because I hate the ads I am forced to watch. I am no expert in what a dog bite on a face would look like but I got bitten on the leg once and although it barely broke the skin I had the most enormous bruise from it that took a couple of months to disappear. I cant see any bruising on that ladys face. They should be able to tell if it was a bite though, surely they'd take saliva swabs from her skin to ascertain if it was a dog?
  4. good to know. I googled the Lions park after I wrote here and it seems there were a few deaths of people there! Stupid news paper articles saying the lion attacked for no reason. Err well duh! It's a lion! They eat meat, little 12 year old boys are made of meat, that's a good reason. It seems it was mismanaged. When it went bust the animals were abandoned. 2 hippos in another zoo are rescues from there now. It was terrible at the time. I dont know what happened to the owners, they should have been charged with cruelty. edited to apologise for getting
  5. that's amazing that Taronga have sent so many animals there. I'm curious about how private zoos like this work, I wonder if they have to buy the animals or are they shared. I hope they have some kind of protection. I always remember the Bacchus Marsh lion park when I was a kid. It seems amazing now that it was allowed in Australia, but you were allowed to drive your cars through the paddocks with the lions, just like in Africa. Lots of signs saying dont get out of our cars, dont open windows etc. Sadly the park went bust and all the lions, and there were alot, we shot. It was hushed up at the time but years later I spoke to a man who was there, he said it was a massacre. So I'm hoping this new private zoo keeps breeding animals under control.
  6. I wonder if some idiot has drugged it.
  7. has one of the baby meerkats lost the tip of its tail or do they just end like that?
  8. I wonder why Maned wolves have evolved to have such long legs.
  9. I thought the spider monkey was having a cuppa at first! Is it a private zoo?
  10. Off topic, that's the fence that keeps my whippets in. I'm very lucky that they aren't wanting to escape because they could easily clear that fence. If I had a fence jumper I'd be in trouble.
  11. I look at her face and I still see a young horse. Her own mother was very beautiful, but she actually had wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, like a human, but Pagans face is still smooth and wrinkle free. I can see it in her old body, the sagging back, the clicks and cracks I hear coming from her neck and spine, even her once black hooves have gone light, I think because they're made of keratin they've basically gone grey, like hair, but her face is as beautiful as ever.
  12. is that of my beautiful mare Pagan, calling out for her brekky. She is an Australian Stockhorse I bred, out of an ex racehorse by an Australian pony. She was born on 16th Sept 1984, same day as Prince Harry. We've been on so many adventures together and we're growing old and slowing down together. 5F6A4620_1 by kirislin, on Flickr my sweet sweet girl 5F6A4625_1 by kirislin, on Flickr
  13. Yes I used to love the adventures of Rocco and Ralph too. That one of Ralph in the shopping trolley with his super cape is a classic that's been stolen and gone viral. Just to check I googled: dog super hero shopping trolley and it was the first photo to come up.
  14. yes, he was very rangy looking, alot like the photographs of wolves I've seen. She kept him pretty lean too, which I think is a good thing on such a large framed dog.
  15. I'm always amazed at just how far dogs take off for the jump. I love the crazy eyes looking straight at the camera, you can just about see the adrenalin flowing through that dog, and the kelpie who looks like it's on a catwalk. Great photos, all of them, you really captured the mood.
  16. I think Balto and Rook are litter mates? Could that be right. I seem to recall her saying his name.
  17. I'm no expert, so I hope I'm not saying the wrong things, but if it was me this is what I think I'd be doing. Do you know if he is used to being in a crate? If so have one set up in a quiet, out of the way place, looking really comfy, with snuggly blankets and a blanket over the top for privacy. I dont mean to shut him in to it, but for him to know it's his place to go and settle and feel safe in. Otherwise just a bed in a quiet place that he will quickly learn he can go to if he's scared. Dont fuss over him or take much notice of him. No loud or sudden noises or movements. Be calm. Good luck
  18. the cutest funniest thing just happened. I typed Cat in to google translate and asked it to translate in to Japanese so I could see how it was written. I pressed the audio so a little Japanese voice said "Neko". I played it 3 times and guess who came running when she heard the computer calling her name!! https://translate.google.com.au/#en/ja/cat
  19. I will just say, I love seeing photos of peoples dogs, I often dont read threads in particular sections, if they're not if photos or general I probably wont see them. I love seeing Canetoads adeventures with Johan too.
  20. awww thanks, I've been having a crappy day so you've cheered me up. I used to love Frodo's Mums boy Frodo, who used to run around like Ned Kelly with a flower pot on his head, but he couldn't see where he was going! She'd post the funniest photos of him and then they suddenly stopped. Dont know what happened there. I love Iggy Mums dogs but I know them IRL Stan of Hazy Wal fame the way she writes about him. I met him once, and true to form he managed to injure himself on a nail in a public park that was quite tucked away, but he managed it. Justice and his brave struggles with life.
  21. That white stuffing has become soil binding in my yards it's so ingrained.
