  1. Importing semen would be OK with breeds that have large litters but with something that might only have 2 or 3 puppies with a good natural mating it's a risky proposition I think.
  2. I've got fences that my whippets could easily clear if they wanted to but they've grown up with these fences so never tried to escape. If I brought in an adult dog I wouldn't be so sure they'd keep them in.
  3. I think the OP means there are 2 people here in Australia importing a dog that they will co own. I assume the original breeder in the other country is selling their dog to 2 people in Australia. That's the way I read it.
  4. have a look at these photos. :D and for the warmer months. I'd imagined doing something like this before I realised it was an actual sport. Now I'd have to do it with a few aged whippets and an IG. I loved the chariot teams. Some looked very greyhoundy to me. Life after track racing for them perhaps. It would be a scary ride attached to a team of 6 or 7 excited and fit greyhounds.
  5. I was given a little action camera, like a gopro. I'm still figuring out how to use it as it basically comes with no instructions. I lost all my test videos but managed to get this pic of Neko being typically Neko with her gorgeous googly eyes.
  6. I wonder if they can access his phone records and or internet, emails or facebook if he has them might give some clues. I suppose it's a matter of privacy too though
  7. I love them all but especially the muddy game one. Every time I see Elsie I think she has to have a bit of whippet in her. I know you've said she hasn't but I still look and think I see whippet.
  8. I think they're both on the main reg if they've got blue ped certs.
  9. Could you use distraction? Every time yours start barking call them away with treats, bones perhaps to occupy them? Honestly, I dont know if this is the right advice or not. I'm not a dog trainer. It sounds really stressful for you all.
  10. Not the news you were hoping for. I'm sorry
  11. I hope it's nothing serious and easily fixed.
  12. Yaay well done, what ever it is that you did. I hope you can now just enjoy your puppy and both of you have fun.
  13. If all that is true then for goodness sakes just put the dogs down and prosecute the idiot owner.
  14. If it's only his cheeks I'd probably leave it. That's me.
  15. I wish I could form a syndicate and buy it and keep it as a round track, straight track and lure coursing complex for all breeds, not just greyhounds. Wouldn't that be fun. still hasn't sold and the price has been dropped. I very much doubt it would meet GRVs current requirements as a greyhound training facility. I still wish I had the dough to turn it into a canine racing and lure coursing park. I'd need to be independently wealthy though because I doubt it would pay for itself.
  16. does the pink nosed one, is that Merle, have a split nose? I think that's what it's called. It looks like it has a cleft in the nose
  17. Look at how those 2 cuddle up together!
  18. It might take a day to go. I think if he's still OK now he wont get anaphylactic shock. You could give him another dose of anti histamine if you're worried. I must clarify though. I am not a VET
  19. I heard this too! I loved the way he pulled the interviewer up when she was laughing and said it's a serious matter, and how Holly was gutted. and she had to prove her working abilty, such a cute story.
  20. My friend is grooming today and she wont be blow drying them. Just clip and bath. You can tell the groomer you dont want your dog blow dried. just ask for a clip and bath.
  21. Her first litter she hardly looked pregnant, but only 2 pups I suppose. The 2nd litter was a bit different! Lovely to see, thanks.
  22. I'd love it if you posted her photos here. I can even change the title to reflect other dogs if people want to add theirs.
  23. I found some old film photographs of my dear departed whippet Kibah that I'd taken when she was pregnant, back in April and May of 2002. One of the puppies she was carrying was my dear old girl Feather, who will soon be 14 years old. Anyway, it occurred to me that some might find the photographic record of Kibahs pregnancy interesting. I know I do. It's just as relevant today as it was back then. I dont know if I took pics for weeks 1 & 2. It seems to start from 3 1/2 weeks but looking at her I think she wouldn't have looked much different. I think her normal weight was about 10.1 kgs So this is 3 1/2 weeks and her weight has increased slightly to 10.4kg 3 1:2 weeks 10.4kg by kirislin, on Flickr 4 1/2 weeks 10.7kg and you can see a bit of a tummy, she is loosing her lovely tuck up 4 1:2 weeks 10.7kg by kirislin, on Flickr Whoa! big change in just one week now! 5 1/2 weeks and 12kg! 5 1:2 weeks 12kg by kirislin, on Flickr 6 1/2 weeks 12.7kg 6 1:2 weeks 12.7kg by kirislin, on Flickr really growing now 7 1/2 weeks 14.1 kg 7 1:2 weeks 14.1kg by kirislin, on Flickr 3 days to go and I dont know what she weighed 20:5:02 3 days to go by kirislin, on Flickr She whelped later that day. 23:5:02 whelping day by kirislin, on Flickr Please feel free to add photos of your dogs pregnancies week by week if you have them.
