  1. 10 things you didn't know about PENNY 1Penny used to race. She raced for 5 years under the name of Little Savage. 2 Penny is a Grand Racing Champion. Sadly racing achievements are not given recognition on pedigree certificates, only showing wins. 3 She is missing a front tooth, knocked out in her racing days when the lure slowed down and she caught it. 4 She was twice awarded the fastest Pedigree Racing Bitch of the year. 5 Penny will "speak" on command. As whippets are generally not a very vocal breed this is quite unusual although it runs in her line, apparently her mother was a talker and she's passed it on to Puck and Lily. 6 Penny once got me off a speeding fine by seducing the copper with her doe eyes. 7When she is happy, excited or greeting people she like to carry presents. She will show them to you but they're not being offered up, you just look and admire. 8When she was a puppy she answered better to "chickie necks" than she did her own name. 9Pennys registered name is Maysleith Musicale, so she really has 3 offical names. 10She sometimes gets called Penito Puppilini, and she answers to that too, of course.
  2. she's very sweet. Yes I hope she can ease the pain for you too. I hope she brings you lots of joy.
  3. sigh, it's so nice and warm here. is that a bird invading my territory? sigh...........I might chase it later...........
  4. What on Earth is wrong with this sick creep. I really hope he gets a very severe penalty. I cant see what it being horses official birthday has to do with it though.
  5. Pretty boring, I was just standing in my front yard. You can see the sun just hitting the highest spots on the distant hills/mountains I took pics of these very same hills in Feb when the hills were all aflame and I was so frightened I didn't think to place the camera on the fence post and use the self timer. All I got was very blurry shots
  6. I just re read your post. Are you sure that little pup isn't sick, if he is that might account for his lethargy. I really hope he is OK, I dont like the look of his little tummy. Was the mother wormed regularly prior to whelping?
  7. They're very cute but I am a bit alarmed at just how bulging and bloated that single puppies stomach is. I am assuming he's just fed but it still looks incredibly bloated and red. He looks like he's about to pop. I hope he's OK. How's he going.
  8. I just bought my last lens from Cameras Direct and it seems their prices, although already much cheaper than retail shops, fluctuate alot depending on how our $ is going. Since I bought my lens just over 2 weeks ago, the next shipment that came in is more than $80 cheaper again than mine. Not all their lenses are affected so dramatically, if they have stock already in the prices stay the same but if they pay for new stock while our $ is high the savings are passed on. I will be watching the price of their 50Ds due next week. I might even wait till they're sold and try for some they paid for while our $ is 90cUS. Here's an example. Watch the price on this one when they actually get the stock in Oct 14th, the price might be reduced further than actually listed there, then again, it could rise, but I suspect if it moves at all, it will be down a little. https://www.camerasdirect.com.au/index.php/...f-in-stock.html I am guessing this one will stay the same until they get new stock. I dont know how this price compares to other sellers. https://www.camerasdirect.com.au/index.php/...m-f1.8d-af.html
  9. "I'm here for you" or "I'm there for you"
  10. another with a fly taking a slow ride and another, just cause they're weird.
  11. taken at 6.38am, not sure what time sunrise was. Probably not exactly what you had in mind Ash, sorry, but you can see the morning sun shining on him. another one with a fly taking a slow ride
  12. Yep I reckon it's a cuckoo of some kind. You're too quick, I concur Professor Miranda!
  13. wow, your dogs go on more holidays and to more places than I do! I thought you had a Canon dslr? didn't you? anyway, looks like you all had a great time.
  14. Yep, this is what I was about to suggest too. It's fantastic. I also use it on my mare when the flies irritate her eyes in the summer.
  15. I sometimes give them, my whippets love it. I didn't know soy should be avoided, is it poisonous to dogs?
  16. well come on tell us what we're looking at, apart from eggs :p
  17. These are Brolgas, one of our native cranes, the Sarus being the other . These were taken at Healesville Sanctuary the other day but when I lived in Mackay in North Queensland I used to get them walking around the paddock with my mare Pagan. I love the water in the background in this one.
  18. Do you have the saturation turned up on your camera? Mine never have that very contrasty look, I like it but my camera wont do it. What model camera have you got?
  19. this might help if you dont know what time sunrise/set is. http://www.ga.gov.au/geodesy/astro/sunrise.jsp
  20. Love em! Now tell me are these straight from the camera or have they had extra processing. Mine never have this look about them but I like that contrasty, vivid, intense look that everyone but me seems to achieve.
  21. I have a poo eater too and this is my greatest fear!!
  22. First the bushfires, now we have flooding. This is the Yarra in flood just out of Healesville. While I was stopped taking pics at least 30 other cars stopped to do the same, including Channel 9.
  23. That's one massive blood clot! Does he say what might have caused it. Fantastic news though, he's going to be OK. He'll feel better with that gone.
