  1. thanks, yes that's the course of action I will take for now, and as you've said, if symptoms change or worsen I'll get her seen to again, but I'm not going to be getting an MRI.
  2. they are not the symptoms Feather has. I'm not going to put her down yet. Thankyou everyone for relating your experience and giving your opinions. It's much appreciated.
  3. How do they test for a brain tumour, wouldn't that be an MRI? Her symptoms fit vestibular syndrome if she starts showing other symptoms or appears to be in pain then I'll take her back to the vet.
  4. My dogs all have clean teeth except for Feather who is 12 and has never been a good bone chewer, she's pretty whimpy with bones. Still, I dont think her teeth are bad enough to require a dental just yet, but if they did I'd probably give this system a try especially given her age.
  5. I wouldn't like cleaning up after it.
  6. That's like me in the Iggy thread!
  7. she's following me around wagging her tail so I think she's OK, probably just wondering why she's got the wobbles but not in distress.
  8. No, he's never had this with any of his dogs. She's dozing now. Last time she was OK after a couple of hours so I'm inclined to just watch her carefully for a while. I might make a late appt. at the vets just in case and I can cancel it if she improves.
  9. Looks like it's happening again. I'm not sure if there's any point in taking her to the vet as they didn't treat her for it last time. She's curled up in her little bed now and I'm keeping an eye on her. What would other DOLers do? She doesn't seem distressed by it, she's just staggering around like a drunkard when she tries to walk.
  10. :D thanks. I'm not sure how well she'd be able to pull that heavy sleigh though. Presents might be a little bit late.
  11. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone who has followed Nekos story from day one. Reindeer Neko by kirislin, on Flickr
  12. I think forums are getting quieter as people are moving off to facebook, instagram, twitter etc.
  13. great description except the whole time I was visualising a real GOOSE. Now I'll have to re read it imagining a border collie.
  14. Looks so much better. Is this just using the neocort as per vets instructions?
  15. thanks, the wonders of photoshop. I took the photo but her breeder is the photoshop whizz. He takes credit for that. :D
  16. Neko's breeder turned her into a reindeer for their Christmas card this year. Reindeer Neko by kirislin, on Flickr
  17. I think my friends whippet had this. He recovered but it was slow. That was a couple of years ago now though and to see him now you'd never know he'd been sick. I also wanted to add thankyou to Rappie. It's wonderful to have you as a member here with all your knowledge and advice that you give so willingly.
  18. I saw this on facebook. Obviously the council worker is a dog lover or perhaps more specifically an Italian Greyhound lover and has a sense of humour too. council rego (not mine) by kirislin, on Flickr
  19. Yes, I've only ever seen it once, and the driver either wasn't that good or my whippet was too good. It's very different to greyhound race driving that's for sure. I might have to go along to some meets. I wonder where the next one is.
  20. Just read that the lure should be between 10-25 metres in front of the leading dog. That's a long way ahead! In greyhounds they'd stop trying if it was so far ahead. I suppose it's mimicking a different situation though and a dog hunting in a field could well be that far behind a bunny where as racing greyhounds they just try to encourage them to run as fast as they possibly can.
  21. thanks, she's pretty cute when she runs, and quick for a tiny little dog, but when I compare her to her brother I find myself laughing when I watch her because she's so cute, but when I watch Arkey I just look on in awe. Now he is fast! Not as fast as a whippet but for his size he's amazing. Not so sure about how agile he is though. He can run his little sister down in a few bounds but she's still pretty good at dodging him so it could be interesting to see who would be the better courser.
  22. Thanks Diva. Yes I was thrilled when I started seeing her run like this, she's had problems for quite a while and couldn't or wouldn't stretch out. annoyingly her brother Arkey is much faster although it pains me to admit it. 5F6A4650dppt by kirislin, on Flickr but she gets her prize in the end. 5F6A3501dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
