  1. PC if they were paying for a private shoot I guess they would have grounds to stress about such issues! LOL This was a charity display , the cars were surrounded with people 80% time and the majority of shots were taken with iphones and pocket cameras! Rare was the instance where cars were out in the open. Some of the car owners even allowed people to sit in their vehicles. Personally having displayed my own car in a show shine I would have been a stressball the whole day: crowds, little barriers and lots of kids eating sticky food!
  2. Again thanks for the input...will consider all this when they get off the card & onto the screen... :)
  3. I was thinking the same thing Minimax, but apparently there is a large favor towards blurring it out,I have seen it on other sites & on FB. I can understand if the car was possibly doing something illegal or in a situation that might be compromising for legal reasons, but a display car is in a public space doing a legal show. Further investigation today suggests that it might compromise security ie plates are identified with a certain make/model that could perhaps be used to obtain details of the owner..but my thinking is that privacy act would prevent this. Perhaps what Kirislin said comes into play...when it is the owner of the car posting the pic.
  4. Just asking as I have seen that some websites say it is not illegal to show plates in pictures. Some car photo enthusiasts say it is a insurance risk. Others say it is publicly shown so not a concern... Some show cars of high finish have a complementing numberplate to show off as well. I want to share some pics with my FB friends of the shots I took, not sure of the right protocol. Ideas??
  5. Agreed Pers, I guess what I meant was that when she asks him to go wees (after food & waking etc..) he knows to go to the door to go out. So she is progressing in training him to a routine. Its just those moments between times she was wondering why he would soil a bed he sleeps in. I have a puppy here and well fortunately she has two adult dogs to show her the way so I was a bit lost as to give advice how to get a puppy out of this behaviour.
  6. Thank you for the replies. I have forwarded on the information to the puppy owner. Hopefully things will improve as she is frustrated with the constant washing. The idea she had of getting more beds only gave him more scope! He is not crated (wondering if that would help) but is clean in the house except for his bed/s. He is last report getting better at going to the door when he wants to go, but still will treat his bed as a toilet stop when he loses focus. LOL Minimax. I think that is priceless! I think all pups have their "issues" some more testing than others.
  7. I was always told most animals will not soil where they sleep. Maybe not so...a friends puppy is 3 months old and habitually pees on its bed. It will "go" outside as encouraged and hasnt soiled anywhere else. When left to its own for a few hours/ or goes urgently it is the bedding that cops it. Is this common? Is there ways of stopping this?
  8. Coles sells a product (ruff n coco) pet stain remover. I have found it extremely good to remove poopy nasty/ vomit from fabric/bedding. Id imagine it would work well on carpet (always test first for color fastness)
  9. I love the Swallow shot Kirislin. I am obsessed with trying to get a shot of these guys...so quick! Just lovely Teekay. Gorgeous colors that pop.
  10. I don't doubt it Steve. Working in a shelter once I was amazed at the fact that there is no type for shelter "dumping", before working there I thought it was a socio-economic thing. I learnt otherwise. I also learned that some number are people who have been left responsible for a pet which for one way or another no plans were made should the owner pass. Decisions get made at the most stressful time, often I guess by people not in knowledge of the late owners wishes. I can not imagine life without a dog as yet so I hope my opportunity to own one continues for a long time to come! Interested to hear the input of people with experiences in homing dogs to older people, I hope I get the chance to be one one day.
  11. I am wondering whether people have a perception at what age people should cease seeking to own a dog/purchase a puppy. I have friends older than me that often say I think when so and so passes I wont get another dog because Ill be too old. Is there a magic invisible age that makes someone not acceptable to buying a new dog? Is it an individual thing? We are all here for however long (fate decides this) does this come into play when rehoming dogs? Im certainly hoping Im not on my "last dog"..unless fate decides otherwise!
  12. here There is info pinned at forum on ticks in health and nutrition section
  13. Oh I do hope tag is ok now...has he ever had a fit before?? Poor boy. Here is a piccy taken yesterday, hopefully in line with this challenge. BTW Glad to see a monthly challenge on :)Been a while for me.
  14. ...documented vet fees refunded to the new owners.....to what value??
  15. I know of someone who recently was given a pup after her much loved family dog passed from old age. Unfortunately the misinformed people whose heart was in the right place bought from the wrong place. It was from a pet shop like the ones listed above. After weeks of treatment apparently the person involved was advised only the first $500 of vet fees were recoverable because of an existing contract. After such the puppy was able to be returned if costs went over it. This person has paid the subsequent $$ to get puppy better: a sad and hard lesson for all involved.
  16. No doubt the broken collar was to blame for the whole event (insert sarcasm here) A sad but too common senario. A well raised socialised dog doesnt just randomly attack unless provoked.
  17. Neat, scary and glad Im on this side of the wire :)
  18. Loving all the comments...Huga you put words to my thoughts. I wonder why they chose the guest pro photographer as they did. Her photo portfolio show documentary of people: 'right of passage"...which incidentally the winning shot was in the style of...but was that the brief? I thought that was only the preferred topic of the photographer judging? Why didnt they get a pro wedding photographer to judge?
  19. Love these! Fav one is shot where Sid is looking up (one eye visible) as if to say "you seriously think you are winning this?"
  20. The guy with the rock pile was to me over thinking everything. I agreed with the winner. Was I the only one shuddering as the cameras got soaked in sleet and rain????? typo
