  5. I watched it and was like "take some photos!!!!" I think they were over thinking it re: lighting and less about the content of the photo. I think they should have tried to connect more with their subjects. I was shocked that they had very little knowledge despite their portfolios as presented on the website. ...and it wasnt me :D
  6. Luci scores some zzzzz's on the freshly washed fitted sheet: my discovery when I returned to the room with the freshly washed doona & pillowcase.
  7. Gapvic, feeling that photo. Huga: I love the way you have illustrated that lyric. Very nice. MnD: Im not a cat person, but I love drawing cats and the great detail in their coat & eyes. Blue eyes are such a treat. I grew up with a cat like Max. Gorgeous color on the Birman, I like the way it fills the frame.

  13. I love the "documentary" feel about the photo of the couple & their dog. Fattima. How lovely to see another part of the world & have pics to remember it by.
  14. Due to many reasons I was unable to get a home shot for the last three weeks. I did manage to get the camera out the other week when I went to Melbourne for a birthday treat. So rather than drop out I will post these. Hope thats ok :) Chocolate treat to have with coffee on a cold Melbourne day. Shelby the city dog Love em or hate em they are a part of Melbourne
  15. Keetamouse, I have taken your comment on board and think unless i was privy to what was discussed in the treatment room I can only comment on what I understand on K9Angels description of events. Thats what I tried to do. I have read my earlier post and believe that written whilst upset about Cookies demise I failed to rightly put my feelings in the right context and it seems rightly so I should note this & should be done. I was trying to put my feelings (if I was in the same situation with my own chosen vet)and it seems it was not written well enough to express this. I have not criticized K9 for her loving care of Cookie, she did all she could. If K9 feels this I have I will gladly speak to her about it.I will let you know that I have supported by way money this vet & K9 in treatment of little Cookie as I wanted the best for this kitten. It was upsetting to know Cookie had been put to sleep, I apologise for my emotions & how they muddied my intention to explain myself. Surely the fact I was happy to support the treatment of the vet of K9's choosing indicated I cared for all involved.
  16. I was just about to ask...and a price perhaps??
  17. Sorry to read the turn of events. What pain poor Cookie may have endured all this time. At least Cookie is no longer suffering & is at peace now. I would have been highly critical of the vet care (had it been my vet)offered in this case, as I would have expected my own vet to have done xrays as I requested in order to show me why there was nothing they could do. No pain relief no initial x rays and what followup. I express my frustration as to why the kitten couldnt have had more medical help. I have felt this kitten could have been hospitalized from day one and given a fuller examination. I would be seriously doubting why my vet in the same situation if he waited to do xrays so long. Perhaps this vet had a reason. I feel this shouldnt have gone undiagnosed as long as it did. Unless kitty was taken AMA I feel like the treating vet didnt do Cookie any favors by waiting so long to xray first up. But in respect I was not privy to to the conversation in the examining room & have commented only on what K9 has offered in explanation. That being said I stand by what K9Angel & her vet chose to do and supported her & her vet by paying towards treatment of this kitten. Poor Cookie such an innocent who didnt deserve what this world gave you. Condolences to yourself & Jack for your sadness.
  18. You cant mention "pug puppy" in a thread without pics...its against the unwritten forum rules. :D
  19. Many dogs will bury a fresh bone only to dig it up a few days later for dessert...I had a notorious food stasher. Im sure it was not peachy fresh on digging up either. Not ideal, but I think we are more prone to get sick if we rather than the dog consume it. As an owner of a dog once that used to get gastro from such hidden treasures, I guess while its not ideal to feed a slightly unfresh bone, these things happen, so id be looking for signs of upset causing unwellness just in case. My thinking is it will be fine. I believe dogs shed salmonella in their droppings if consumed, so dispose of droppings more regularly for the next week of course using hygenic methods.
  20. Having said that, I find it difficult to believe most homeless people can access premium foods for their pets as well as quality worm and flea treatments. ...I dont think quality of life for a dog is all about premium dog food, many a dog has had a life before premium dog foods arrived on the scene. Surprisingly I dont think my quality of life is reflected or affected if I shop at Aldi or a premium grocer. I think that if dog ownership is going to be reflected by whether one feeds their dog premium dog food or not I must be putting the wrong priorities in dog ownership! I do get the case re: preventative health treatment, but I dont see this is a big burden that cannot be worked out.
  21. I think if the dog is unwell or is showing neglect that is threatening its health it should be removed and attended to, but counseling/aid should be offered to the homeless owner. The last vet clinic where I was employed at had a homeless guy with an addiction to alcohol who chose to live on the streets because his brother refused to let the dog stay with him at the brothers residence. He loved the dog more than anyone. Often people would buy him a meal (KFC & like) and he would always offer the best portion to his dog. Those who knew this would always buy two meals. He used to bring the dog to the clinic he felt his dog was unwell or needed a good bath/flea rinse. This was provided free as he was a kindly man and the dog was his only asset. One day we were called as the owner had collapsed in a local park and after a short time the ambulance officers (who the dog initially didnt let near his master)were kind enough to contact us to have him boarded short term. When his master was back, the dog was returned. The dogs bond with this man was apparent to all who knew them. Some dogs live their lives in a yard they have never seen out of with people who rarely tend to them short or throwing food in a bowl between life episodes. The dog of a homeless person is the centre of the life of the owner. They reward that by being protection, company and warmth for their owner. If anything I think local councils should be made aware of such dogs and liasion with welfare groups to support the union.
  22. Happy to contribute to the Cookie account. It all goes well for this little fighter. PM me with details if you wish. I am so pleased your vet has offered the reduced fee, excellent news.
  23. Thank you for your input/replies....I will pass them on. My friend who asked me is an advocate for titre testing, but when this happened to her friends dog she was concerned that in both occasions the vets didnt seem to be overly concerned Nor did they explain the issues. My chosen vet if something like this occurred wouldnt get me to leave without an explanation! Actually my vet wouldnt have to be asked to as he would be offering one (which is why hes MY vet.) I was hoping that in a forum as big as this one, there was bound to be some people like yourselves who could offer valuable info.
