  1. Whatever happens I would not get a settlement with a non disclosure. If if compensation is not what you are after (you cannot get your precious boy back) The least they can do is cover your loss/costs. In memory of Buddy I would insist on publicly telling his story so the legacy of this awful situation is that other dogs may not suffer the same fate. If there is a gag on settlement it will never come out through media source like television and papers and so no-one will hear the important message that needs to be heard. Surely somebody can represent you in this situation should you not be able to deal with it personally. Perhaps a campaign would awaken owners & groomers to seeking regulated businesses...if there is a body of groomer quality assurance.( sorry I have never used a commercial groomer) Is there a legal trained DOL member here with some idea with the laws that apply in this instance?
  2. RIP Inka. You were much loved & loved so much in return. Lovely tribute to a lovely companion dog.
  3. Love the design of a simple dandelion...not simple at all!
  4. Oh good to know! I thought it was just me feeling a bit freaked at the thought of "no hands" , glad to know others have been there and are happy with this kind of strap.
  5. :D Simply fantastic CM. That face could make me fall for a Shepherd all over again.
  6. OMG Too adorable!!! I see a whole series of posible memes for this picture!!! Its so much better than grumpy cat!
  7. Cazstaff I do hope the report you get from the vet is unbiased. Id imagine the salon might have already contacted a lawyer to know their position in this and so most likely have been told to not approach you on a personal basis.. Sad but they are a business. Please write down everything you can, diary the goings on on the day & afterwards...who you spoke to, who said what, contact made. Yes I know you are grieving but it is still clear in your mind & things take time in such matters of liability so now is the time to lock in the details. I think that in time this whole story should be made public in memory of your beloved Buddy & that no owner should have to suffer the loss you are going through. Again I am nothing but sad for your loss.
  8. This is what 2kg of trouble looks like when it is awake. She is a photo bomber, a fearless explorer & a one dog shredding machine. A day after her groom..into the doggy pool, through the grasses and voila! her unkept look is back!
  9. I am feeling sick to my stomach with grief & shock that this could happen, knowing full well a lot of good owners entrust their loved companions to groomers everyday. Oh Cazstaff, there are no words I can offer you that would bring you any peace other than I am so so sorry for your loss and that there are many here who have lost a loved companion and are feeling for you immensely tonight. The circumstances are tragic and to what I understand due to an irresponsible action of the part of the groomer. Just after Christmas is a hard for many people I dont have much but Im happy to give some to a fund if you need help in support of any costs you have incurred should the this have not been dealt with yet. RIP Buddy.
  10. KJA I never get sick of seeing the wonderful part of the country you live in. Sunsets are just breathtaking. How blessed must you feel! Heres a shot I took yesterday. "Shhhh Puppy asleep"
  11. Wow they certainly have a big population there!! Great pics, love seeing how people capture birds
  12. I think the it is a sports R7(with under arm strap). All I can say is its sooo comfortable. If your looking for comfort it has it! I think the limited edition is the fact it is woodland camo in color. I am happy with the tree/bark camo coloring as I often use a camo wrap for my lens when stalking the critters in the bush/ bird hides so now I have a matching strap! Apparently there is a mobile phone pocket avail to purchase separately. Like I said earlier Im having trouble with the "look no hands" factor so here I am asking thosde with more experience looking for reassurance & therapy!!! Thanks for your thread link TLC
  13. I rarely took my hands off my camera when it was on a neck strap...this feels nice in theory but so weird in practice! I just wanted to know its a tried & true product! I love the ease of shoot and down action! Makes you feel like a gun slinger!!
  14. I was given a sports Black Rapid Limit edition camera strap for Christmas. I have only used neck straps. I like the feel of the strap, the glide of the strap...but I am antsy about having my camera hand on my hip (hands fee) How secure is this? If I have a 70-200 on would I be best advised to attach it to the lens?? Is there a weight restriction?? If it works I can see it being my most favorite acquisition as I have small tolerance for weight hanging from my neck.
  15. just when u think u have read it all Word fail me. Seriously??? If there is a way of blocking someones posts I would like to know please (pm me) as I could not be held responsible for my words if I see this person post again. Sounds like to me this is the type of person that makes responsible rescue necessary.
  16. Ok I understand why it was offered now as it wasn't explained. Though that being said I am not regretting saying no to the fluids for a small short procedure on a young healthy dog who was only losing a loodse retained canine. I have always opted/expected fluids for abdominal surgery or other invasive or lengthy procedures but I was a little surprised when offered it for such a short procedure. Pup was literally jumping out of her skin when she got home (i think the brief sleep was the longest shes every been asleep in daytime hours!) ran to her chew toys and back to causing havoc & mayhem. Thanks for the input, I like to know why things are done these days and I knew this was the place to ask!
  17. I just had a puppy in for temp tooth removal (retained canine)and was offered a bag of fluids for the procedure. When I was nursing we never lost a dog during a dental to complications... I am never offered fluids at the dentist during the removal of my tooth? Where would fluids be lost sufficient enough to need this? Does the supply of a brief GA seriously require this? Based on the 5 mth old pup being healthy, active & due to vaccinations etc... seeing a vet bi monthly I opted out. I can understand if VW etc is suspected....but is it just normal for vets these days to suggest this for all GA procedures?
  18. Ok the liver function in the bloods came back all normal in my friends dog. So diet management is the only thing the vet offered at this stage. Owners have just been told to observe for any more changes/symptoms that may crop up. I think a follow up blood test is going to happen in 8 mths.
  19. Would it be relevant to reverse a nifty fifty to experiment with macro??? I heard it brings good results...never tried it. I have a 105mm
  20. Read the manual. Take your camera out where ever practical. Shoot critique, shoot critique. Enjoy just capturing something/anything you please. Join a camera club Enter photography competitions & critique comps...it helps you sometimes learn what is a 'good" shot as opposed to just one that is emotionally pleasing to yourself. That being said any shot that pleases you & makes you feel good & satisfied (and compels a memory of a time) to me is still a good shot. Celebrate the fact that unlike the film days you can get out, shoot heaps & get a indication there & then on review of composition& light and what has/hasnt worked on a subject. Missed it? Try again! Dont be afraid to take the photo of something youve never thought of before, vary your subject: you may surprise yourself with the results. Anyway thats a hint from a learner to a learner! (pros might disagree)
  21. Thats just fantastic. What a chance find!
  22. Dear me, exaggeration much? Surely it has to be more than boredom that is motivating her.
  23. When your human growls at you for rolling in magpie poop in the yard ....only to yell at you even louder when you bring the magpie poop inside onto the rug to roll in. ????So it isn't the fact Im rolling on the lawn she is opposed to- go figure! Spell it out next time.
