  1. B@$tards that enjoy watching pain and suffering inflicted on others are below contempt I have no help or advice I can add Wildatheart, other than to send you support and positive thoughts that you and your sister will find the dog safe and well.
  2. Jess, Yogi and I hope to make it on the 31st if its not too hot
  3. I didn't want to hijack the Hawkesbury pound thread in urgent rescues but I am haunted by the face of this sweet girl who is being killed by BSL due to what she looks like. No temprement tests are needed by the murderers who decide whether a dog lives or dies, she has options but wont be released Goodbye sweetheart, go to the bridge knowing thre are many people who care
  4. Yogi , Jess and I cant wait to meet Earl Yogi promises not to be Randy!
  5. Poor Boof, although thankful it was reported at all why wait 2 days to report such horrendous cruelty and torture Name and shame the monster that could do this, if he is heading down south the authorities obviously know who he is. I hope that Boof now gets the best of homes knowing nothing but love from now on. edited to remove the word this person really deserves to be called.
  6. My Whippet is very big and muscley(we breed them tough in the hills ) I dont know how many times I have had people ask if he races and why isnt he wearing a muzzle. One man told me I had been conned as he was obviously a Greyhound, when I explained I had his papers and knew his parents he still didn't believe me I dont think. I dont care what people think Yogi is or isn't because I know that he is 100% beautiful and Yogi wishes that the uneducated masses wouldn't come up and stare at him and call him names
  7. I gave up adding up vet bills many years ago Had to pawn my jewellery once to pay for emergancy 24 hour vet clinic(got a credit card very quickly after that experience) Got divorced over a long standing arguement about dogs allowed in the house and on the bed, the dogs came with me and haven't been off the bed in eight years When my son was younger I had two toy boxes in the lounge, one for him and one for the dogs and they seemed to have more toys.
  8. What a horrible thing to have happen, poor pup I hope that your neighbour was mistaken about the littl'un being kicked Brave Atlas he sounds a brave, loyal companion.
  9. Kimzy, I m so sorry that your loss has been made even more painful by the actions of the people who should be helping you through your grief. Focus your thoughts on the wonderful Princess you had in your lives for many years and the wonderful memories you will have forever in your heart. One idea that may help is a memory box. A beautiful wooden box can be lined with satin and you can place special keepsakes and the like that have a connection with your sweetheart and really make the filling of the box a ceremony, light a candle or anything you feel comfortable doing to make it a beautiful time of reflection for you and your husband.
  10. Oh dear, puppies very quickly go from being a little bit unwell to very sick as they are just babies.Beg, borrow or steal(not literally) to get that puppy the vet care it needs, if the vet across the road is closed look in the phone book and find another one nearby
  11. What a little cutie I am sure he will give you years of love and cheekiness by the look of him
  12. What beautiful photos of Titan, he is adorable :D
  13. What an awful loss Sounds like there will be a very good working dog over the bridge keeping the flock in line ;)
  14. Topspot Kennels are where my guys board and I cant praise it highly enough Up until this year I had 4 dogs, all with special needs in one way or another -medication, jackets, seperation issues and extreme old age......lol They were all very well cared for and the lady was happy for me to ring regularly for updates. They came home healthy, happy and clean. I do always have to book well ahead though
  15. Jess and I are sending positive thoughts to sweet Tammy, goodluck sweetie
  16. Rip Diesel Run free after your brave fight
  17. What a nightmare for the family I will keep my eyes open when I am out and about at the beach.
  18. I want them Such a cute little family photo
  19. A-B-C hope I can explain my supplements for you The rose hip granules are very high in vitamin c and riboflavins, I buy it in bulk to feed my horses and one day I noticed the dogs licking some spilt granules up off the ground so now add it to their food, it is actually quite nice a bitter sweet taste. Apple cider vinegar is meant to help prevent arthritis and keeps blood vessels and arteries clear and clean, many years ago I read a little book called Folk Medicine by D C Jarvis, a Vermont Doctor with a love of hunting dogs, fascinating and informative reading. I have used apple cider vinegar ever since and have some very healthy(and very old) animals that I think are a living testament to some of his ideas.
  20. I am not sure that she is on insulin, but I will ask mum. I know she is on clavulox for the next week Thank you for your ideas, mum and I will start cooking.
  21. Some more old Kelpie feeding ideas that may help Jess never seems to want the same meal 2 days in a row which makes life a little bit difficult but some of her will eats other than the lamb flaps include- beef mince(raw) with pasta cooked beef mince with rice and veg chicken necks but they do come back up sometimes fish for dogs stealing the cat food eagle pack canned duck and oatmeal little tins of My Dog when I am desperate and she is being fussy... Goodluck with Tammy and the food it is stressful when they dont eat but my girl is quite chubby unlike Tammy, I also give her 1/2 a teaspoon of rosehip granules a day on her food and both dogs drink water with a splash of apple cider vinegar in it.
  22. I think we are in for a long, hot and horrible summer :D I left the fan on for the dogs yesterday while I was at work, then spent most of the day worrying about it overheating and catching fire with the dogs trapped in the house. I used to allow indoor/outdoor access on hot days and let them choose where to lie until I came home and found my very elderly Kelpie fast asleep in the middle of the cement driveway on a 40 degree day At least most people try to keep their pets cool, however I despair for the animals owned by ignorant cruel owners this weather.
