  1. Burke Rd Vets.. My family has been using them for 23 years, even after they changed hands about 4-5 years ago.
  2. How come? Malvern isn't that far from me.. there's not really any motels let alone pet friendly ones in the area.
  3. A squirrel dude is another option like the pyramid toy. They're a bit cheaper too. I'm just trying to find somewhere to get him from first
  4. I got mine from Petstock, but deals direct and Vebo have good ones online.
  5. Everlasting treat balls aren't that expensive from the right place, even a large is only 39 from where I got my stuff.. I got a fun ball for $17, and a fire hydrant doover for $22.. our boys loooove them. So worth the money, and I'll be getting more. Ozpetshop has good prices on them. http://www.ozpetshop.com.au/product_info.p...roducts_id/1896
  6. Bundy was walked from 8 weeks. His breeder recommended 20 minutes per month of age. He's 11 months now, and he still doesn't get any 'hard' exercise on lead. He gets walked for about an hour a day sometimes twice, depends how much time i have.
  7. Bundy when he was younger and particularly feral used to get "Bund, James Bund" OH's middle name is James, and I joked that Bundy would have the same middle name
  8. Stop stressing. It'll all work out for the best.. promise. My boy was the only boy in the litter, so I didn't get an option, but he is just a perfect fit for us.
  9. The breeder will choose the puppy most suited to you We got our boy sight unseen and he's a perfect fit for us.
  10. There's a few threads on this in the puppy problems section. My boy did that too, and it was because he wasn't finished. We'd have to take him out, he'd go, then back inside and stsight out to toilet again. Kept it up for a few weeks and whala, problem solved. He didn't do it all the time either. Sometimes we had to take him in and out 3-4 times till he was empty. For him it was easy to tell because he walks funny when he doesn't have an empty bladder
  11. It's not possible! That bundle of cute won't turn into an evil monster I do look at him and think gee he's tiny though!
  12. It's common for vets to recommend 6 months. I tried to go with breeders recommendations and left him until 11 months until a few things led us to get it done. If it wasn't for his surge in hormones and his change in attitude he'd still have his bits!
  13. She'll probably be back to herself in 48hrs if my cyclone is anything to go by! We didn't have anyone home full time when our fellow was done last week at 11 months, and he was fine. Just made sure that he had a cone on his head to prevent too much licking. Although with a few days he worked out how to lick with the cone on!!
  14. The tucker ball is great, but it's not very tough, so that's something to think about Bundy has suddenly declared his love for his Cuz after not touching it for months *sigh*
  15. I often ask myself the same think the same. "walk" *fart* "stretch" *fart* "bounce" *fart*. That was Bundy for about the past 3 months He couldn't do ANYTHING without farting.
  16. Yep.. would happily send Bundy home at the moment. He's been desexed and is going stir crazy.. and is destroying anything that moves. He keeps jumping out of his crate My laptop charger was this mornings casualty after he escaped his pen and pulled it onto the floor from the middle of the table.. Grrr. He is lucky I love him.
  17. No you shouldn't be waking them at certain times, that just encourages them not to sleep through the night. Our guys normally have their last drink at 7-7.30 generally after dinner, then they don't tend to drink until the next morning. We did take the water away when Bundy was younger though.
  18. My boy was desexed last Wednesday. We had the same thing happen when he came home. He cried non stop for about 5 hours and was then ok. A couple of times he cried during the night, but that was only when he forgot he couldn't move like he normally can. A week later he's back to normal *sigh*
  19. Agree with this too. Our boy started off in the lounge, and he refused to sleep through, moved him to the bedroom, and he slept through. When he got bigger, again he went to the lounge.. nope, same problem.. so back in the bedroom for him The exception being this week when he can't fit thru his crate door with the cone on his head It was very much a comfort thing, he *MUST* be close to us always..
  20. Go and speak to your neighbours, tell them you have a young puppy and it'll settle soon and you're doing xyz to make sure it happens. Our nearly 11mth old, is currently confined to his pen for the next week. He's taken to crying the house down at various times too. The more we ignore him the quicker he settles each time. Do you take him out to toilet in the middle of the night? Could he be crying because he needs to go outside to the toilet? For the first few weeks, no matter what time he went to bed or last had water, Bundy would be awake for a loo break at 1am.
  21. The invoice doesn't say that he did, just antibiotics.. He cried going from the vet to the car, car to home then non stop for 4-5hrs, then for about 2hrs in the middle of the night, so I don't think he had any but maybe he's a sooky. He had the IV fluids during surgery too. I did notice on the invoice I didn't get charged their fee for castrating an 'older' dog though You guys have given me some good things to ask the vets for future reference though, so thanks I just really wanted to get him home so I didn't really think about it until today.
  22. I *think* the nurse said it may have been a reaction to the meds he got given while he was waking up? I shall check with them when he goes back for his wound check in a week and see if they think it's worth doing testing. I was just curious, as it's not something I thought of or had heard of before. They did also say that he took longer than normal to wake up. I rang home earlier and the swelling seems to be gone except for around his jaw, so it's going slowly but the vets did say to expect it to take a few days.
