  1. Getting organised... getting all my baby clothes washed. So much cute! 4/52: Tiny Washing for a Tiny Human by LittleGreyBirdy, on Flickr
  2. Bummer, Raineth! Hope the hiatus isn't too long.
  3. Fritz is too cute! Great photos, Esky.
  4. 3/52 30 Weeks and Counting 30 Weeks and Counting by LittleGreyBirdy, on Flickr
  5. yeah, yeah... rub it in :p and thanks! Lots of lovely photos in this thread! 2 down, 50 to go :)
  6. 02/52 Cold This weeks theme on my list was Cold. Sure, that would be easy in the northern hemisphere this week... just step outside and take a photo of the record breaking snow! But given it's summer, we're more about staying cool. Nothing quite like a cool drink of water on a hot day. Sure, I'd love to have a beer or a G&T; but since I'm preggo it's off the menu for a while! 02/52 Cold by LittleGreyBirdy, on Flickr
  7. My first photo! I'm loosely using this list of themes to help me out. So I started at the top of the list... this photo is for Newness. 01/52 New Project by LittleGreyBirdy, on Flickr Lovin' the photos so far! Great to see such a big group, hope we're all here at the end (including me!!)
  8. I'm going to give this a go again. I gave 2013 a miss, and have failed at every other attempt! I'll be doing a photo a week, no theme. I'm having a baby, so expect that will be my primary focus from April onwards!
  9. Santa's upgrading my camera for Christmas, so I'm selling my D5100 kit if anyone's interested. It's in the marketplace :) http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/254031-nikon-d5100-twin-lens-kit/page__view__findpost__p__6367214
  10. Kuma just thinks he's an overgrown Kelpie :) well... in play, not in work! He also has the turning circle of the Titanic, but is remarkably quick in a straight line over short distances. Don't ask him to run a marathon :p The photos of Kuma nomming on Dodge are heartwarming, considering Dodge's timidness at their first meeting! Kuma loves when his cousins come over to play, though I think he likes the human visitors just as much (or maybe more!) coz all the pats he gets.
  11. Yaaaaayyy! Welcome Treble! He is a stunner Excellent colour choice :p
  12. She has somewhat limited access to the house. I'll let her in on and off for a few hours during the day. I like having her near me. Even if I do have to vaccuum 10x as much. OH is more funny about it. He comes from a family where dogs are outside pets. My family had dogs sleep on our beds. So its a bit of a comprimise. The thing with Akitas is that they're very attached to their people. Tika will want to spend time with you, and if you're inside she'll want to be there too. I've kinda given up on the vacuuming part... As others have said, the Akita stance can set other dogs off. Especially the erect ears, upright head and shoulder position, plus tail always up. You will eventually be able to see the differences in her body language when it subtly goes from walking along without a care in the world to "There's A Dog In My Perimiter". A good behavouralist will help you with a seamless meet and greet, plus help with identifying the body language cues. We took Kuma to see K9-Pro when he was around 9 months old (we were almost ready to give him to the next person walking by, he was being such a turd!). Steve taught us methods for appropriate greetings, recognising body language, plus other handy dandy tips to keep him in check. As to tiring her out... I'm no help there! A lazy 20 minute jaunt around our park and Kuma's shattered. Though, I will encourage getting the LLW under control. Kuma also hated his gentle leader. He tolerated the Black Dog Infin8 halter better (http://www.blackdog.net.au/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=5). We alternate between a limited slip collar and harness now that he's much better at LLW.
  13. Naawww look at my big lump of a dog! We don't get to the park nearly as much as we'd like, but it was awesome to have doggy visitors :)
  14. Run free Sooty Giant hugs to you and your family, luvsdogs
  15. I'd love a swathe of tulips in my yard, but given I'm a brown thumb I leave it to the professionals at Floriade. They do a wonderful job! 16. Kuma is an avid TV watcher... so much so it's starting to be an issue! He jumps up on the TV unit and starts sniffing things on the TV! 09/52 by KumaAkita, on Flickr He doesn't like the asian chick from the eHarmony ad, but loves watching the footy. No joke, his team is the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs  How cute is Snowy!!
  17. Some absolutely stunning photos in this thread! Nice work everyone :) 23/52 by KumaAkita, on Flickr
  18. We had a rather frosty start to Spring, it was -6.6 degrees at 6:00 am and it stayed that way until now... we've only just hit positive figures in the last hour or so! I rugged up a little and took a couple of photos. It was beautiful... the sun was up and no wind. Just a bit chilly on my fingies and toesies! 19. Great shots everyone! This was taken with my 4S, with a bit of tweaking in post... 04/52 - Up, up and away by KumaAkita, on Flickr I'll have to hunt out more, I have plenty!!
  20. Amazing!! They look like they're having sooo much fun. We didn't get the snow Just a howling wind and heavy rain shower. *stamps feet* Kuma would love romping in the snow!
  21. Oh Teebs, I'm so sorry. Run free Atlas
  22. Competitive stretching... Longest sustained stretch, most unusual stretch, greatest flexibility
  23. I know you didn't do it... but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to deface currency. If you're putting a website on the currency, you may find that the organisation gets a knock on the door. Cute idea, but perhaps try a more legal approach.
  24. I am conceeding defeat. I have not been able to keep up and there's no point deluding myself that I can catch up. First time I attempted this challenge, think I made it to 24-odd weeks... but that's ok. Can only challenge myself to go further next year. Well done to everyone for making it past the six month mark. I'll keep sticking my head in this thread to see all the talented and inspiring photos.
